Because of this, I think this should be a bit cheaper, to make the money’s worth. This is the only reason I’m downgrading my review from 5 stars to 4. ### 4/5 — Cute but quite simple *2023-09-28, version 1.0.3* Flocks is a very cute puzzle game with a nice twist in that you control groups of little blue people working together to solve challenges. However the puzzles are either a bit too simple or just off the wall and solved in a way that doesn’t make sense, like the basketball one. It is heavily let down by the controls. They freeze and, at times are awkward. When this causes the player to need to repeat a level, that frustrates them. But the controls, especially for the vehicles, are terrible. But the controls are lacking (especially driving, jumping off/on to things) and take away from every good aspect of the game because driving and jumping is mostly what player does. By the time I finished some levels I was so frustrated that it wasn’t worth it. Once the developer gets better controls going, this will be a sweet game. Great unique graphics. Love the mellow feel of it. The controls are like 75% of the challenge (in that the controls are difficult to get the hang of). Thanks ### 1/5 — Poor controls and touch interaction *2021-06-09* This game looked promising but the figures are too small on the phone to easily give input. Selecting which figure to move, selecting multiple figures and doing whatever actions are required are all done by swiping across the screen and the system rarely recognized the right one. I would be trying to select more than one figure but it thought I wanted to move the figure and it was endlessly frustrating. Then trying to make the figure into a ball in the one level was similarly also confused for another control so it’s a total waste of time. **Developer response:** Developers here! However some of the objectives are just too vague. For example, I’m on the level “crusher” where you have to crash a car. And despite the fact that I successfully crushed the car and it passed through the crushing machine, I still fail the level. I have no idea why I am failing the level. I’ve accomplished the objective. There needs to be a bit more to help the user fully understand all level objective requirements. You control some little characters on the screen and have to split/combine them to solve problems, e.g. have two people go off and collect a log that's too heavy for one person to lift, and have the single person to and fetch something to hang on the end of the log. It looks clever, I want to support developers, and I like that responses are given to reviewers. That is so refreshing. I gave 5 stars. But either I’m doing something wrong, or maybe the App Store telling me my iPad is compatible was not correct. It’s brutal to move a little person anywhere. If I roll my finger across the objective, the character will move sometimes. If I tap the objective, he’ll just throw something at it. And if he gets behind a tree he’s lost in the forest and I can’t select him and have to restart. I don’t have a controller but did try with that feature turned off and on. ### 5/5 — Darling and lighthearted *2021-08-29, version 1.0.3* The artwork is simple and whimsical, and the puzzles aren’t tough. Mechanic is a little different but straightforward nevertheless.
