### 4/5 — Layout change

*2026-02-23*

I used the old layout style very often (im a fisherman)
Not sure why the layout changed, but I don’t like it. I’d rather know the CFS instead of water height

**Developer response:** Thanks for providing feedback! Gauge flow is still available within FloodWatch 2.0. Please submit details like your gauge name to feedback-floodwatch@d5gtech.com so we can investigate. Thanks in advance!

### 4/5 — Very intuitive

*2025-07-15*

Is there a way to add alerts to the app if what you are monitoring surpasses a certain height?

### 3/5 — Needs to update automatically

*2020-06-05, version 1.10.0*

Good app but would be nice to have the favorites list update automatically and send out notifications when reaching flood stage.

### 2/5 — Does not work now

*2018-11-01, version 1.9.5*

I really relied on this app to keep me updated on the flood stage because I live right on the creek. Hasn’t worked since September 11

### 3/5 — Ads are overly obtrusive

*2018-10-27*

This was a useful app at one time but the full screen ads have become so annoying as to make this app more trouble than it is worth. I would pay to remove ads but $7.99? That is far too expensive for what it provides. There is a competing app that offers the same graphs of more station parameters and it is only $1.99 for the ad-free version. That’s more realistic.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback and usage; we appreciate it. However, in order for FloodWatch to remain in operation, it must be a worthwhile effort. If you're unwilling to spend two cups of coffee to use the app ad-free for the foreseeable future, then we wish you best using competing applications. Thanks again for your patronage in the past.

### 3/5 — Full screen ads give me a break

*2018-09-20, version 1.9.5*

I can see the developer wants to make some money nothing wrong with that but I don’t even see a link to buy the ad free version anywhere. Why is a five star app but I’m giving it three now.

### 2/5 — Sorry

*2018-05-30, version 1.9.2*

Still a great app but I kinda liked the old version better. Huge graphs equals more detail. You should still buy it.

### 3/5 — Data is good, interface not intuitive

*2018-03-14*

I tapped the “+” symbol to add a gauge but none appeared on the map. I had to pinch or pan the map to get the markers/gauges to appear. I’d recommend showing gauges on initial load, or at least show gauges on the map after a 1 second delay.

Data shows current conditions. It would be fantastic if data included average conditions or trends. E.g. I know the Cumberland River is 27ft height right now. How does that compare to this time last year? What is the average height during the year?

**Developer response:** Hi Pickle-Lickle,

Thanks for your feedback! A new version is in the works right now, which includes a significant user interface overhaul. Regarding the long-term trends of data, we're only able to retrieve real-time data for the past 120 days, so going back a year isn't as straightforward as you might imagine. I'll certainly consider your feedback, though!

If you'd like access to the beta program for the new version, please email feedback-floodwatch@d5gtech.com and I'll get you added to it.

Thanks again! Looking forward to getting the new update in your hands soon -- trying to put the finishing touches on it now!

### 3/5 — Good App

*2017-08-26, version 1.8.6*

Most recent update crashes when updating levels.

### 2/5 — Pretty Worthless

*2016-08-29, version 1.7.1*

If you live very close to one of the designated locations, this app might be helpful during extreme conditions, such as flooding. Otherwise, it's not worth downloading.

### 4/5 — Really good, could be great.

*2016-06-12, version 1.7.0*

Simple, easy to use. Would be great with complications for watch faces.

### 4/5 — Really Nice App

*2016-03-13*

Living on the water here in South Louisiana, I'm always looking for the best method of looking at the water levels. This app is quick and easy. I love how is saves my favorites and I don't have to "remember the names" (hint to the other reviewer).
I would really like to purchase the app, but when I go to purchase it for $2.99 it ask if I want to remove "one" ad? No, I'd like to remove ALL of the ads. What? Next month another ad is going to pop up and I have to pay to remove that ad too? I guess my only option is to "tip" the developer because the app is certainly worth "something" even if the ads don't disappear. 👍🏻

### 4/5 — Flood watch

*2016-01-04, version 1.6.1*

This is a very simple app to use the app will tell you the river waters raising and falling.
Very simple please give it a try!!

### 2/5 — SEARCH BAR!!!

*2015-11-07, version 1.6.1*

This would be the PERFECT! app if I could search for gauges by name. I don't readily know exactly where each gauge is but when I want instant reads on creeks and rivers, I can definitely offer the name.
As of now though, I will honestly never use this app.
And it's such a shame because it is sooooo close

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — You ruined it.

*2026-06-03*

You people have ruined what once was a great tool. Can not move map to look for other monitor sites. Map keeps coming back to my location. I don’t want alphabetical order I want west to east order like I had it setup before you changed it. Please advise, send phone number for consultation.

### 1/5 — Too many adds

*2020-10-09, version 1.10.0*

App won’t let you look at the data shoves adds down your throat while you drown minus 100 stars

### 1/5 — Good App Gone Bad

*2020-09-09*

This was an almost perfect app. It provided the data I needed for the several streams I needed to watch. The ads were obtrusive, but tolerable. It has lately become entirely unusable. It provides the data for the top site in my list, but if I try to select any other site, it launches a loud bright full-page animated ad that cannot be cancelled for ten or fifteen seconds. When it is cancelled, you go back to the data for the original site. In other words, the $9 ad-free ransom the developer is demanding is essential to view more than one site. Thanks but no thanks!

### 1/5 — Paid for ad free twice.

*2020-08-31*

This app has been useful to me for a long time as I live in a flood zone. It doesn’t do much, and what it does do is not in real time, but it’s helpful. However, over the years the ads have gotten more and more intrusive. They take over the screen and it requires closing and reopening the app. I think developers deserve to get paid, either by users or advertising, but not both. I’ve given this dude $1.99 on at least two occasions to no effect. Mind you, there have never ever been any added features. He simply converts 3 data points from the USGS and makes it work on a mobile platform. I should ask for my money back. I’ve bought a real rain gauge and will check the creek height using a device with larger screen. I would have thought the app had been abandoned, but dev is selling more ads all the time and has updated enough to work on iOS 13.

**Developer response:** Hi Contrari,

Thanks for the feedback and for being understanding. However, you're clearly misreading the user interface for purchasing the removal of ads. There's a very clear button on the "Remove Ads" screen that says "Remove Ads." The $1.99 purchase you describe is for leaving a "tip," which does not remove ads. It's merely a goodwill gesture to support further development.

You need to purchase the ad removal in-app purchase, which is currently $8.99 USD.

Please email feedback-floodwatch@d5gtech.com. As long-time user, I'd love to gather more feedback from you. Thanks in advance!

### 1/5 — Ads are HORRID

*2020-03-08, version 1.9.8*

The ads this displays are getting worse. They play videos LOUDLY or take over the screen and FORCE you to a website to load the AppStore page, rendering the app useless. I can accept ads, especially for apps I only use a few days out of the year, but not ads like this. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Full page ads equal DELETE

*2018-12-27, version 1.9.5*

Information on this app easily accessible via free apps and web sources WITHOUT ads hence the lack of need to buying this app.

I understand there is no thing like a free lunch, static ads at the bottom of screen is fine.

Ads that impede navigation like full page ads only shows that the developer is greedy and doesn’t care about the user interaction.

### 1/5 — FloodWatch doesn't work at all, don't bother!

*2017-02-11, version 1.7.1*

I just downloaded this app, it has no data or functions whatsoever, other than to pay for another app or leave a tip!!

Here's a tip!

If You are selling an app, don't offer a free one that doesn't function at all and solicits for me to buy another one...
Then asks for gratuity...😏

Pass

### 1/5 — Update needed!!

*2013-10-01, version 1.3.0*

App crashes every time I open it. I'm using iOS 7.2

### 1/5 — Crash

*2011-08-29, version 1.2.2*

If you need an app that's totally annoying and almost useless because it crashes a lot then this is what you're looking for.

### 1/5 — TerribleApp

*2011-06-07, version 1.2.2*

Very inaccurate and missing major points like the winfeild dam

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Súper

*2026-04-03, version 2.0.4*

Excellent app

### 5/5 — Great app. Responsive developer.

*2022-12-01*

Works just like it says on the tin. Sent in a feedback request and received a thoughtful and personal response rather than a generic “thanks for your suggestion” reply.

### 5/5 — Love the Home Screen widgets

*2022-09-21*

Can you add Lock Screen widgets that are compatible with IOS 16?

**Developer response:** Hi Bob,

Thanks for your note! Yes, lock screen widgets have been on my mind leading up to the release of iOS 16.

I'd love to hear more about what you have in mind for lock screen widgets. Can you be specific about what would be useful for you to see on the lock screen?

Please drop a line to feedback-floodwatch@d5gtech.com. Looking forward to your input!

### 5/5 — So sad

*2019-03-22, version 1.9.6*

Use to be great small advertisement bottom of screen, now full screen advertisement fir each point you are monitoring.

Bye deleting app as soon as I save this review

### 5/5 — No longer works. Please fix.

*2018-05-31*

It was a great ap when it worked, so I gave three stars even though it no longer works. The update didn’t resolve the problem either. I cannot open- it kicks me out when I try to access the ap.
When it worked it was a great ap for someone living along the water. Really hoping it gets fixed ASAP.

Update: the recent update worked, thank you. Ap is working now. Thank you for the quick fix. 5- stars!

**Developer response:** Please send an email to feedback-floodwatch@d5gtech.com with specifics, and I'll get the issue fixed ASAP. There are only a small number of users being affected by crashes right now, so I need more detail to get to the bottom of the cause.

Also, you can remove the app and re-install it if you want to workaround the issue for now.

Thanks in advance!

### 5/5 — New Update

*2018-05-23*

I installed the new update then nothing worked. I contacted the developer who already knew what the problem was and was waiting for his fix approval from Apple. For anyone who may have experienced the same problem as I did just remove the old version then install the new one. Or, wait for the fix to arrive then install that update. It’s a good program to have when the river is rising. Thanks.

**Developer response:** Thanks, Wvhome! The fix for your issue was released yesterday, and another update just came out today. Should you have any additional problems, don't hesitate to reach out. Thanks for the kind words; an update of this magnitude has been long overdue. Thanks again, and enjoy!

### 5/5 — Finally a simple interface with realtime data!

*2017-07-23*

This app is awesome! It has a simple interface that makes it easy to locate stations and get data. The summary page is a nice snapshot and the graphs are great with cfs and feet gauge readings for your viewing preference. This was instrumental in watching local creek levels for paddling my kayak in whitewater.

**Developer response:** Thanks, Zedved. It's always fun to hear of unexpected uses of FloodWatch, now for kayaking!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2017-03-15, version 1.8.0*

Latest update was a little buggy. Within a day of emailing the developer, Brian everything back to normal. Good app for emergency managers to keep a watch on real time water levels and rain rates. Thanks for the help Brian!!

### 5/5 — Useful tool for floaters!

*2014-03-16, version 1.4.0*

Easy to use!

### 5/5 — Floodwatch

*2014-01-10*

Amazing. This is a very helpful app if you live in a flood plane. I live in somerset county NJ, we flood severely with just a few inches of rain and are surrounded by rivers.

Today is October 27 and we are preparing for the storm of the century. Super storm Sandy is coming and this app will be tested.

Thanks Brian, you may save our lives with this app during this storm.
