While I love the independence and solitude of traveling solo, let’s be honest, it can get kinda lonely. Before I found this app, I struggled to meet others who were traveling at to the same place at the same time as me, and it was even harder to find people were also interested in the same things. Floqsta solves those problems. Floqsta makes it easy to search for other people or even groups who are traveling to the same destination as me and plan activities we share interest in. It’s the perfect way to meet life long friends and build a group of other travelers to share experiences with. The interface is easy to use and getting more popular by the day. It’s basically the tinder of travel apps! It would be so cool if they incorporated local restaurants into the app too. Like local favorites. That way I could plan my whole itinerary on the app when traveling. All in all. The functionality of this app is really fun. Swipe left and right like a dating app on different “floqs”, or people grouped together based on life interests, travel interests, and potential travel destinations. This is a great idea and it will make some great stories in the future. ### 4/5 — A fun way to get connected through travel! *2022-12-14* This app is a great way to explore your options for travel - and give you a group of people to do it with. This app is easy to join with a quick and transparent sign up process. It also offers a helpful intro for each feature to guide users around (but you can skip this part if you want to get exploring). The best part is that it tailors travel experiences and groups to match your own interests, which you can select on your profile. Other benefits of this app besides a fun color scheme is the ability to join multiple travel groups with different travel dates at one time - this means you could plan an entire years’ worth of travel in advance! Downsides of this app are that there is no spell check feature on supplemental profile anecdotes, so watch your spelling! There is also no option to enter in individual interests besides those already listed, which I feel is a missed opportunity to bring people with truly unique interests together. Overall, a fun app experience that opens your eyes to the world around you and gets you excited to travel! ### 5/5 — Traveling and new friends! *2022-12-13, version 1.0.87* I just downloaded this app. I think it has an amazing concept. Being able to plan a trip with someone that could be a new friend for you. I believe it’s trendy in the layout and app is really eye-catching. You can select your preferences and then the app will recommend places to go. Not only that, you have a group to go with on the dates that work with your schedule! I think this is a very unique idea and has potential to make people more interested in traveling. The design and ergonomic make it very user friendly and enjoyable. I like the swipe right to find destinations for your next travel, it gave me ideas and places I didn’t have in my for my next trip. Everything is handy with a link to get more details and infos about the place itself (yeah I like plan everything :) Haven’t had a chance to use the friend functionality yet but I’ll check it out on my next solo trip. ### 5/5 — Friends + Travel! *2022-12-12* I recently downloaded this app & I’ve fallen in love with it, It’s a great way to meet new people and find fun activities to do after you travel! The app is very well organized & the layout is great, it’s almost like they combined tinder & a travel app all In one! Once you sign up for the app, you choose activities that best describe you & then you're able to swipe through different places all around the world & create your next travel plans! This app allows you to connect with others who also enjoy traveling and teaches you all about these cool places you can venture to! Overall this app is just great if you’re looking for new buddies to travel with or fun new places to go! ### 5/5 — Very unique app! *2022-12-12* Traveling can be overwhelming. Finding the right people to go with, finding the best spots with all of your interests and lodging. I feel like this app does take a lot of that stress away. By allowing you to look at people with the same interests you’re able to find someone to travel with to maximize the experience. I have definitely traveled with people who didn’t share my interests and finding time to do and see what I wanted to see was very difficult, as they had their own interests and things they wanted to see. This takes all of that away by finding someone you can go explore different parts of the world with and not have to sit out because it’s not something you want to do. I also really liked the sign up process. It was quick & easy while making sure you put enough info on your profile to find the right people. It’s kind of cool to swipe on potential travel companions & I have never seen an app like this! Give this one a try if you love traveling like me. The app asks you a little about what you enjoy and matches you with things that may be appealing to you. It’s easy to say no to a suggestions or join right in with something that seems intriguing. Have you ever wanted to meet new people, make new friends, and find a group of people to hang out with, this app is perfect for that! I don’t like how your location is so precise (safety! I think main cities only would be fine) I have ideas of where I would like to go but find it annoying that it shows suggested places with possible floqs compared to you stating where you want to travel and when and hoping others would join/have the same idea. The same people show up in the “floqs” which makes me think maybe there aren’t a lot of people on the app yet? I don’t know if I would actually reach out to said “floq” but the idea of similar interested people wanting to travel around the same time you want to, is cool! I believe this app could use a little more developing but it’s on the right track. ### 4/5 — Swipe for Travel Buddies *2023-01-06* Overall, I really enjoy using this travel app. The user interface is smooth and visually appealing, with bright colors that give a warm and inviting feel. I particularly appreciate the ability to choose whether the app will track my behavior between other applications on my device, and the ease of use is great - for example, the data that automatically saves my likes and interests. The swipe feature is intuitive and familiar, but I also appreciate the added ability to select "undecided" for a floq and come back to it later. While I did expect to be able to manually enter my location without having to share it within the app, this is a minor issue that doesn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the app. I think this app is great for experienced travelers and people who are interested in travel but don't feel comfortable going alone. It's nice that you can join a group for a specific experience, and I would love to see a feature where you can share a floq with a friend or family member as well. Stress begins when you want to find the right person to travel with and like every new destination, the most important thing is to find tourist places where you can learn about their history and culture, and also find accommodation that suits you and is in the right place for enjoy and know the best possible. I feel like this app makes it easier for you to find everything you need. It allows you to see people with whom you share interests and also people who could be an ideal adventure partner. Traveling with people who don't share my interests is complicated since everyone has their own things they want to see and you can't have a complete experience. This app avoids all that because you find people with whom you can get to know the world without the difference in interests having an influence. I also really liked the check in process. It was quick and easy and he makes sure to put enough information on your profile to find the right people. It's fun finding potential companions for your next trip and I've never seen an app like this! If there’s some out here like this, I’ve never seen them. I think it’s a wonderful concept. However, I only wanted to look around to see how this app operates, I don’t think it should require a profile picture unless a person wants to take full advantage of its services, such as actually using it to plan travel with others. I saw incognito mode, but was not able to explore the app when I chose that option. The app details in the App Store seems to be transparent with what it does with your individual information, so I appreciate that. I think the personality quiz is a good feature, as well as the identity verification. It’s really cool how the app groups you with like minded individuals if you decide to take advantage of that particular service. The links that give information on the vacation destination are helpful for the trip planning process. The compatibility score is also a great feature to have, along with the beautiful pictures showcasing the various activities that one can expect during their travels. In the FAQ, it says no charge, but then says those who sign up now get two years free. So is this app free or no? How much does it cost to keep my membership or are there different tiers? Keep adventuring! ### 4/5 — Seems like it has potential *2022-12-20* It seems to want to do what apps like Meetup and Airbnb do for travel events, but with a Tinder-like format. It’s an interesting way to open up new travel ideas to you without overwhelming you with choices. Right now there aren’t many destinations or “floqs” seeded so I don’t know how this would work for travelers going to places besides the U.S. You’re currently unable to specify your location without enabling location services on your phone. It would be nice to be able to set it manually to search for floqs in specific areas. Also they make you set up your whole profile, including a picture with a face, before you can begin swiping. Overall the app has potential ### 4/5 — Interesting *2022-12-17* I love the concept of meeting people you could travel with and exploring places with your interests, but my only concern would be safety. You never know what the other persons intensions are. Other than that, this is a great app to meet new people and travel. It’s very helpful that it provides shorts personality/ interests quizzes to match you to floqs (places to visit based on your likes). So far, it looks like you like the floq, and it adds you to a group chat where someone else or I need to initiate the chat. As an introvert, I wouldn’t get the courage to do that. Maybe as this starts to grow more, there will be assistants managing each floq. It will be fun once this grows out. ### 4/5 — The ideal travel app *2022-12-14* If you’re traveling solo or want to meet new people to go on adventures with, you need this app. The sign up process is easy and the whole app is straightforward to navigate. You can swipe through destinations like a dating app. You create a profile with your interests and you can find people with similar interests and where they’re going. I love to travel and meet people but sometimes it can feel lonely. With this app you can talk to people before you even get there so you have connections and you can people to do fun activities with. It can be hard to find friends or family who want to travel to the same places as I do or do the same things (nevermind finding a time that works for everyone). Floqsta helps solve that problem by connecting me with people who want to go on the same type of adventures as I do. I have found that things like paid experiences with other travelers is a great way to form connections, but this app also creates a unique solution to that concern. Floqsta has a user friendly interface that feels similar to a dating app, but for destinations and friends! Organic community building can be unrealistic when traveling elsewhere, and this app provides a great bridge to connect people to places as a group. I would like to see some more international Floqs when swiping, but as the app is new, I am sure that’s yet to come. I like the compatibility percentage as well, which gives me a good idea of if the Floq would be a good fit for me based on the questions asked during signing up.
