### 2/5 — Latest App Update

*2026-05-24, version 8.10.1*

Previously i had no problems printing, crosswords and other puzzles using your app. With the latest update, they look fine on the device screen but printed copies are so blurry you can hardly read them much less solve them. Probably a coding issue but it needs to be fixed.

### 4/5 — Enjoy the nature of the stories and the insights on the national and worldwide topics

*2026-01-07, version 8.6.0*

See above

### 3/5 — Trapped!

*2025-10-01, version 8.5.4*

In your SPECIAL EDITIONS PROPAGANDA! No access from there to the full newspaper index. I just want to read the Sunday Comics now and I can’t get to them….even after closing out of the app!

### 2/5 — Update to app

*2025-09-25, version 8.5.2*

This app can’t comprehend that I’m already a subscriber. The refresh link does not refresh

### 3/5 — Newest update lacking

*2025-09-15*

The newest update is very frustrating. The formatting on my iPad is wonky. The “fit” tab doesn’t work. Have to use two fingers to get the page to almost fit. The side arrows to scroll to the next page frequently skips a page. I think the app designers need to go back to the drawing board.

### 4/5 — Games

*2025-07-04, version 8.1.0*

How come you can no longer”mark up” games?

### 3/5 — Good paper

*2025-07-01, version 8.1.0*

The T-U is a good way to get details on the radio/TV soundbites. Quite often the news is stale but the details help explain the picture. The comic section is nice but is missing some standards such as Dustin.

### 2/5 — New format

*2025-05-09, version 8.1.0*

I don’t care for it at all..

### 4/5 — News

*2025-04-19, version 8.1.0*

Works well

### 4/5 — Liberal slant

*2025-04-06, version 8.1.0*

I love my local newspaper other than when I’m reading anything written by USA Today writers.
They are all anti Trump

### 3/5 — Updated format

*2025-04-05, version 8.1.0*

I have been an esubscriber for some time. Are recent change in format of the paper seems to be not user friendly. It is difficult to stay on fit page without the view immediately jump to previous view

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Wow

*2026-06-06, version 8.10.2*

This app is something else for sure. And not in a good way.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-18, version 8.9.0*

Doesn’t recognize me when I am signed in. Wants me to subscribe every time I open the app. No facial recognition option.

### 1/5 — Not functional

*2026-01-28, version 8.6.0*

App does not recognize subscription in order to view digital paper. App functions do not function or help to get help.

### 1/5 — Long time user

*2025-10-31, version 8.5.4*

I’ve been a subscriber since the T-U first offered an online newspaper. This implementation takes the prize as the absolute worst. Performance is dismal at best, the the e-newspaper option being the worst.

### 1/5 — S l o w and ad-creep

*2025-10-16, version 8.5.4*

Since combining the main site and the e-edition, popups occur. This slows down the experience and is an irritating way to view the website for a paying subscriber. October 2025. Getting worse. Full page pop-ups

### 1/5 — App is horrible

*2025-07-27, version 8.1.0*

Cannot log in to subscriber only content. I am used to the clunkiness but non-performance is unacceptable. Says I am signed in but blocks subscriber only content. Pop-up sign in as current subscriber will not work.

### 1/5 — App will not open unless you go to App Store

*2025-06-24, version 8.1.0*

The new and "improved" app is terrible because the only way to open it EVERY DAY is to go to the App Store to find it. There is no icon on my desktop to click on. So inconvenient !!

### 1/5 — Florida Times Union app

*2025-04-09, version 7.11.2*

This is not a very good app. It is the only app to get the Florida Times Union paper in Jacksonville FL. Wish it was better it blows you out regularly and requires a re-login. The view to see the paper as a “newspaper” no longer works.

### 1/5 — Clumsy

*2025-03-03, version 8.0.1*

Clumsy and full of irritating advertisements Can’t get it to open

### 1/5 — FL Times Union App

*2024-12-18, version 7.11.1*

One of the most difficult newspaper apps to use. Can’t swipe to next page, have to us arrows. It continually reboots to page 1 and has numerous ads that pop up most every page. Will terminate subscription if it doesn’t improve quickly

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app

*2026-07-18*

App has improved over the years….offers a good reading experience, more like an actual paper copy. My biggest complaint is that it is balky if used when traveling. There seem to be issues with the verification process.

### 5/5 — The First and Coffee

*2026-04-21*

Years ago in a different state, we didn’t get our physical paper until afternoon so we stopped the paper- learning most of our news from TV (ah, yes, that long ago). Now, what a pleasure to get fresh, well written news with our coffee! The FT-U has been a staple in this house for years now. Everything we need to know in a climate friendly delivery.

### 5/5 — eNewspaper is broken!

*2025-12-30, version 8.6.0*

This app crashes for access to the ePaper. This has been broken for two weeks. Don’t subscribe until it is fixed.

### 5/5 — Nice app to read the paper

*2025-10-23, version 8.5.4*

Keeps you up on the local happings

### 5/5 — Still a great read after all these years

*2025-09-09, version 8.1.0*

My daily dose of news is 100% covered promptly started every morning at 6:00 AM. Thanks T-U

### 5/5 — Great app. Just like reading the paper.

*2025-09-07*

Great app. Just like reading the paper. If I wanted to read the news off a website I would just go to websites. I prefer to have my news organized the way it has been for decades and I appreciate that there are only so many stories. One can really get lost in the weeds without the variety.

I appreciate all the Reuters and AP articles. Makes it so much easier to believe what is printed. Thanks for keeping integrity in ur news.

### 5/5 — Great local content!

*2025-07-29, version 8.1.0*

Love the FL Times Union! Helps me to get the local and business news I need

### 5/5 — Yeah Jacksonville!

*2025-06-01, version 8.1.0*

I enjoy you all reporting on the local news!

### 5/5 — Good local paper

*2025-05-07, version 8.1.0*

I’ve been reading the Times Union for 40 years, and while it has fewer resources and fewer reporters, it has focused on staying relevant and keeping us up-to-date on Jacksonville

### 5/5 — Keeping current on local and international news

*2025-01-05*

Appreciate the overall coverage of news-love the opinion pages, cartoons-wish political cartoons were back-but people can’t handle them any more -too “siloed”. Letters to editor are balanced and let you see where people are “coming from”. Spotlight on areas of concern are good. Like puzzles and brain challenges. Local “big” stories keep you in the loop. GOOD Newspapers are critical to a democracy where people can try to make informed decisions. AI, etc make other media coverage worrisome for truth discovery. Just give me my printed word with all views represented factually and opinions of well known qualified advocates.
