Every large restaurant chain has to disclose this information by law, I feel like Flour is large enough to be transparent with its consumers. The food/ drinks are okay. The old app (circa 2/2024) was great - it did what you’d expect an app to a bakery/restaurant to do. It had an updated menu, allowed orders, kept track of inventory (no more sticky buns? No more donuts? Find something else!) and even allowed for modifications (within reason). This has all that, except the part we’d want most - the ability to order beforehand to pick up on site. It was such a convenience, made life predictable and easy. But you can’t check out on this app (“Whoops! We are experiencing an internal server problem, please try again soon”) and I think shockingly, it’s been this way for 7 months. The app has a lot of stars, but it’s all from its functional years (the more recent stars tell the tale of its current state of dysfunction). The app is now nothing more than an up-to-date menu. ### 1/5 — App *2024-09-13, version 2.0.12* The app is unusable after the recent upgrade. This app is so frustrating. Loads slowly, sometimes shows an old order when I open the app. Biggest issue is that it seems I no longer accrue any rewards since the new app, the my brownie points bar has remained static since the change. ### 3/5 — Recent App Issues *2024-06-13, version 2.0.7* Used to love this app but ever since the new app came out, I have been unable to order ahead. Keeps saying we’re having an issue with the internal server and only loads half of my profile information. I finally got it to a payment page today and it was just blank white. When I select Apple Pay, it doesn’t display the final prompt to submit the order (tip screen and submission). Very annoying. ### 1/5 — Worst app of all time? *2026-04-07, version 2.0.23* It’s possible this is the worst app ever. It constantly doesn’t put orders in which I only discover after showing up at the restaurant. Just now, I caught an order that didn’t go through. I was about to place it again, but a “your order is ready” message popped up so I walked over to the store. Lo and behold it didn’t go through. The developer of this travesty needs a wake up call! ### 1/5 — Shopping cart *2026-03-07, version 2.0.23* Still having trouble with the shopping cart, not showing anything despite me adding things to the cart. I can add things and the upper right hand corner says that they are in the cart, but when I go to look at them, it gives me the “so much empty!” error ### 1/5 — Useless *2025-10-21, version 2.0.21* Can’t checkout. Can’t add a card. After completing all the info the screen is completely static. There is no option to submit the information ### 1/5 — Please fix the last update *2025-06-30* This app was working perfectly until a required update last week. Since then I had to troubleshoot, relaunching the app a couple times and then restarting my phone just to place an order on Friday 6/27. Today I tried again and couldn’t order even after relaunching the app and then restarting my phone. I only go to flour when I can order ahead on my commute. Even if you uninstall the app, reinstall it, it shows the flour logo, flickers for a second, and remains stuck on the launch screen. I’ve tried every few weeks to reinstall hoping it was just something with apples update. The only thing I am seeing that may be considered a bug is that the user needs to manually view their order status on the Home Screen once it is complete to clear it. Otherwise a backlog of old completed orders need to be cleared out one by one by tapping on the egg logo. I love the order ahead feature - especially because the secret is out and it’s usually crowded in the Mass Ave location. Love the turkey sandwich and the Cobb salad and my favorite scone - well - I’m not telling because then it will sell out sooner in the day!
