I have two and they both have quite different readings at any point in time. I think the PM sensor is perhaps too small to be reliable and my research suggests NO2 is not really possible to monitor effectively with a small sensor (it only gives relative measures, ie going up or down). For anyone wanting better quality PM data I can recommend a Raspberry Pi with the enviro+ hat and PMS5003 sensor, though its NO2 sensor still has the same limitations as the Flow. ### 3/5 — Consuming a lot of battery in the background *2021-08-01, version 1.5.4* In the last 10 days, Flow was running in the background for 191 hours. It seems to be draining battery. ### 2/5 — Just stopped recording data *2021-05-03, version 1.5.4* It shows real-time data when I launch the app. But it stopped recording daily graphs April 20. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, and still nothing. I leave it running in the background all the time. But no history since then. ### 2/5 — Comportement aléatoire. *2021-04-27* 2 étoiles pour l’encouragement. Mais ça vaut 1 étoile. - Perte de donnés dans la journée en cours - Perte de jour entier - Application synchronisée mais bloquée sur des données d’il y a 7 jours. Synchronisation souvent hasardeuse. Sachant que le capteur dur pas plus d’une journée. Depuis le temps que lapp existe, et qu’elle n’a pas vraiment changée elle devrait au moins être stable. ### 2/5 — Freezes iOS 11.3 devices. *2021-01-08, version 1.5.4* Super slow to download data from device. On iPhone 5Se after you started it freezes the device which requires a hard reset. The device has a design problem in the docking station where the power connector is not connected and the device in the socket drain easily the battery. The app display stupid information for a just in house use. No major update in the data display, no option to have one single graph of the parameters with a longer history than the last 24 hours. I would say not recommended. ### 1/5 — Support-Anfrage ohne Antwort *2020-08-29, version 1.5.3* Die App ist ziemlich verwirrend und teils komplett dämlich. Unterhalb der momentanen Werte sieht man nicht die aktuelle Kurve, sondern die vom Vortag. Vielleicht, ist man offline, sieht man die Kurve des Tages mit der letzten Online-Verbindung. Die Kurve des aktuellen Tages gibt es, wenn man auf die aktuellen Werte tippt. Leider ist das nämlich alles serverbasiert. Das ist doch völlig unnötig. Die Werte könnten optional auch lokal auf dem Handy gespeichert werden, aber nein, alles vor Ort an ermittelten Daten erst mal schön hochladen, um es sich hinterher wieder über einen E-Mail-Link runterladen zu müssen. Überhaupt wird jede kleine Info zu den Werten und wirklich jeder Pipifax aus dem Netz geladen, offline ist die App kaum nutzbar. Blöder geht es kaum noch. Immerhin ist der Download eine CSV-Datei, die sich sehr gut weiterverwenden läßt. Der Server ist allerdings seit einer Woche down und somit gibt es keine Historie mehr. Anfragen an den Support (mein Gerät ist defekt) bleiben ohne Antwort. Fazit: Gerät Schrott, App Flop. Finger weg. ### 1/5 — Not accurate at all *2020-06-05, version 1.4.2* Data are totally off! Have a Blueair air purifier with sensor that gives me real time 100% accurate data ... but Flow keeps giving me double the level of No2 (showing dangerous level) .. total waist of money! ### 1/5 — Assistance inexistante *2020-06-03, version 1.4.2* J’attends depuis deux mois un retour du service assistance pour m’aider à résoudre des problèmes toujours sans retour.... ### 1/5 — Wish I could love this! *2020-03-24, version 1.4.2* This device has literally taken my phone from 100% performance to 98% in a matter of DAYS! Completely unacceptable!!! I had to turn off the always on gps but even so, it is still killing my battery. The battery drain isn’t even worth the compensation for the trial I’m in. I love what it does, but my phone is way too precious to be drained by an air pollution device. And as someone else stated, Bluetooth can’t even be disconnected from the phone’s Bluetooth settings smh. It’s a no from me. ### 1/5 — Support needs to improve *2020-03-15, version 1.4.2* I need an urgent response because I am working with schools but have been waiting 7 days - there is NO support service ### 2/5 — User Interface needs improvement *2020-02-10, version 1.4.2* When the little things fail it makes me concerned about the big things (such as location information security…) In this case: The “close box” on the daily detail screen is to far into the upper right corner of the screen on the iPhone X, so I have to kill the app to get out of the screen. Very sloppy. ### 1/5 — Almost Awesome! *2020-02-06, version 1.4.2* So many things about the Flow 2 are really well designed and work flawlessly it is a shame that they totally missed the mark on some basics. As it turns out, the Flow 2 is not the only thing I use my phone for - and it is not the most important thing in my world. There is no way to turn this battery thirsty thing off! I can pause it for prescribed periods of time but they are short. There is not even a way to turn off the Bluetooth connection without doing a factory reset on the device! I tried to reach out to their Customer Service twice with questions but they have been totally unresponsive. So Close to Awesome, but they really missed it on some of the basics. ### 2/5 — Bug in map view *2020-01-25, version 1.4.2* If I tap into a map the close cross Top right of the map to close it doesn’t work! ### 1/5 — Arnaque? *2020-01-17* Depuis plusieurs mois: le détecteur affiche des résultats complètement incohérent (je suis par exemple actuellement à 410 de pm10 ce qui correspond à une pollution très forte équivalente à la pire journée de la pire ville polluée: Delhi...) alors que mon capteur Dyson me dit que j’ai une qualité de l’air assez bonne et que la carto du flow me donne du vert (donc bonne qualité de l’air pour ma rue). J’en suis au 6eme mail de relance SANS aucun retour de la part du service client. J’avais eu dans le passé des problèmes de ce type qui était réglé par un ´ recalibrage ´. ### 3/5 — Close to being brilliant *2019-12-01, version 1.4.1* I’m really enjoying Flow. The device is super clever, lovely to look at and easy to use. The app looks and works great. Two things would improve the app. Firstly, better recognition of inaccuracies during the burn-in period. Mine is still showing inaccurate NOX measurements and I understand (hope) that this will correct itself but the app should highlight / acknowledge this as it skews the total air quality score. The second: please add Widget support in iOS. The brilliant Plume Air Report app has this but not the Flow app. ### 1/5 — Firmware Update funktioniert nicht *2019-11-20, version 1.4.0* Und das ist natürlich nicht akzeptabel. Bricht jedesmal Andreas Brey nach ein paar Sekunden ### 3/5 — Sehr schön auf dem IPhone (XS Max) *2019-11-11, version 1.4.0* Die App läuft gut und stellt die Informationen gut und übersichtlich dar. Es besteht sogar die Möglichkeit die Rohdaten zu exportieren - sehr gut! Ein Stern Abzug wegen fehlender Kompatibilität mit dem Ipad (Pro 12.9 2nd Gen) hier wird die App „wie auf dem IPhone“ angezeigt (ich vermute das betrifft jede IPad-Version) Ein weiterer Stern Abzug für die Batterienutzung (77% der Akku-Nutzung in der Nacht - hier kann man leider nicht die Häufigkeit der Aktualisierungen einstellen, ein Home-Modus wäre ganz gut) ### 3/5 — Przydatne urządzenie i apka. Otwiera oczy na problem smogu *2019-09-26, version 1.4.0* Dopiero po aktualizacji apki do wersji 1.4.0 urządzenie i apka są używalne na iOS 13. Aktualizacja oprogramowania urządzenia kończy się powodzeniem i sprzęt działa bez problemu, ale najpierw trzeba uaktualnić apkę Plume. Urządzenie Flow otwiera oczy na problem smogu w najbliższym swoim otoczeniu. Tylko 3 gwiazdki za brak apki dla Apple Watcha. Apka Plume ściągająca dane ze stacji pomiarowych ma apkę dla AW, więc niezrozumiały jest brak apki Flow dla zegarka W apce Plume kliknięcie na łącze Flow powinno otwierać apkę Flow, a nie stronę firmy Plume z informacją o urządzeniu Flow ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Really poor design *2022-11-24, version 1.5.4* The Flow item that you buy separately does not charge when placed in the dock and one has to hold it in vertical position for it to charge- in effect it’s always uncharged. Waste of money. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t open anymore *2022-07-07, version 1.5.4* App crashes immediately upon opening ### 1/5 — Inexistent user support. Energy hog *2022-05-31, version 1.5.4* User support is inexistent. No phone line available. You only have access to an IA-driven chat, which redirects to the FAQ (I’ve already read it, thank you). You can open a ticket on a web app, but never receive an answer. The mobile app is an energy hog. The application requires to have a 24/24 access to gps data and will not properly work otherwise (eg. access to gps data only when the app is open), which is nonsense for many user usages. ### 1/5 — Drains battery and increasingly inaccurate *2021-09-18, version 1.5.4* After using this for a few years I have decided to delete as apart from the app not having an update for some time, it drains the battery of your phone and gives dubious readings. I suggest trying an alternative product. ### 1/5 — Super capteur… *2021-04-30* … mais l’appli ne suit pas. Trop de bugs et surtout il manque les fonctionnalités pour exploiter les données. Ok on a de beaux graphiques, mais après? Pas de recherche possible, pas de filtre, pas moyen de générer de nouveau les graphiques quand la continuité de la donnée est rompue (alors qu’elle est présente dans les données brutes qu’on peut demander). Pas de paramétrage possible pour diminuer/augmenter les points de mesures, capteurs et position, pour soulager les batteries du téléphone et du capteur. Impossibilité d’éteindre le capteur, on a seulement accès à une mise en veille de 24 h max. Pourquoi? Attendre que la batterie se vide pour l’éteindre ? Les batteries lithium ne supportent pas le stockage en étant vides. Et à mon avis l’indice de réparabilité du Flow doit être très mauvais… Et malheureusement aucune réactivité de la part de l’équipe, aucune réponse aux mails qui remontaient des bugs, des idées… Et dommage que le Flow n’intègre pas de capteur de température, d’humidité, et de pression. Ça aurait été un vrai plus. Encore une bonne idée « made in France » mal exploitée 😩 ### 1/5 — Unreliable Data, Poor Experience *2021-02-27, version 1.5.4* If you look beyond the modern branding and sleek interface, you realise that the Flow 2 and companion app are rather unreliable. The data from the flow completely contradicted data from the Plume Labs app and Plume no longer state their certainty in data with a confidence interval. If you don’t have confidence in the data, it’s hard to have confidence in the product... ### 1/5 — Bel appareil mais vide la batterie (25 !!!) *2020-12-07* Appareil efficace et bien fini. L’application et le firmware beaucoup moins. La batterie de l’iPhone est vidée en quelques heures suite au travail du GPS en tache de fond. Ou on coupe le Bluetooth du tel (et perte des autres connexions) ou on éteint l’appareil (ce qui perd sont intérêt). L’équipe est au courant mais.... pas d’évolution. Il suffirait par exemple de proposer de désactiver le GPS quand l’appareil est sur son socle de charge ou immobile .... Bref ça devient urgent.... MAJ nov 2020. Tjs rien. Je commence à regretter mon achat. ### 1/5 — Hello Sensor - Goodbye Battery *2020-10-21, version 1.5.4* Faulty readings. GPS will only work if you select locations services “Always” so your battery is dead after a short day working. I spray hand sanitizer after touching crosswalk buttons - and that throws the sensors off for 45 minutes. And waking up on the morning... forget about checking the air through the night - you have to export and email the data to yourself just to see what the air quality was at 11pm while you were asleep. I appreciate what they want to do - but they are trying to jump to the finish line instead of growing this product organically, working with users to slowly develop something good and stable. I am sorry I ever found this app and wasted money on the sensor (which has never lit up since the day I started using it). What is the home button? It does absolutely nothing. A start up that will flop if this keeps up and you are left then with useless plastic junk. ### 1/5 — Chronophage et inutile *2020-10-19* Bonjour, L’application est très instable : le résumé des jours passés ne fonctionne pas. Le logo bleu Bluetooth se met à clignoter sans raison et la transmission redémarre à zéro : interminables échecs de transmission vers l’iphone. Agaçant et regrettable pour un objet à ce prix ! Aucune assistance. Cet objet n’est pas abouti. Chronophage. Depuis deux ans, il n’a jamais correctement fonctionné. Je ne parle pas du caractère « glouton » de cet appareil en ce qui concerne la batterie du téléphone portable ! Portez-vous bien. Nb : le résumé des jours passés semble ne plus fonctionner à nouveau ! L’assistance ne donne toujours pas signe de vie ! ### 1/5 — Catastrophe *2020-09-15* Gestion catastrophique de la batterie, comme signalé par d'autres utilisateurs. Parfois 60% de batterie consommée sur une journée!!! Quant aux mesures, je n'y crois pas. L’application est bien faite et facile à utiliser. ### 5/5 — Beau, hyper simple d’installation et d’utilisation *2018-11-15* Séduit par l’application plume, j’ai commandé le flow que je viens de recevoir. Installation en vraiment 2 clics (installer l’app du store, charger le flow et appuyer sur le bouton central): je n’ai jamais connu d’installation plus simple. De plus, le packaging et l’objet sont superbes et d’une très belle finition. Le flow est de plus petit et léger que ce qui j’imaginais. Mesure très lisible des pm 2.5 et pm 10, du NO2 et des covs avec une synthèse sur la même échelle que Plume. Bravo à cette équipe française pour ce superbe produit et pour nous aidons à sensibiliser contre la pollution :-) !!! ### 5/5 — Don’t believe anymore the the government air quality agencies: Test and see by yourself *2018-10-15, version 1.0.7* I received my Flow 4 days ago. After starting using it combined with the IPhone app, I have the feeling that I am not blind to air pollution anymore: I can see with my eyes astonishing results like the high COV generated by frying a chicken breast on my pan, or the false data displayed by the government air quality agency Airparif. Each spot in the city, each street has different air pollution and now I can see it and decide by myself where I want to be. ### 4/5 — Difficile de joindre le SAV. Mais ... *2020-07-22* Mon Flow2 est tombé en panne récemment. Impossible de joindre le SAV via l’iPhone. Il vaut mieux tenter de les joindre directement par le site Internet de Plume Labs. Ensuite tout est nickel. L’échange standard se fait sans aucun problème. J’en ai reçu un nouveau avant même qu’ils n’aient reçu le mien. ### 4/5 — Bien mais batterie courte *2019-09-10* Bonne appli, bon capteur mais batterie vraiment courte.
