This needs to get fixed. ### 4/5 — Please enable alerts when app open on watch! *2026-07-17, version 4.9.0* Great app with just the right amount of features to help you focus. My only issue is, I wish the app still alerted you to the end of a session when it’s open on Watch! I use it on my watch to avoid picking up my phone, but because of the watch’s automatic wake system, if I have it open and happen to turn my wrist to where it wakes, the alert won’t go off (I guess the app assumes I’m looking at my watch, but I’m not). This makes me miss the ends of sessions a lot. Otherwise great app! ### 4/5 — closing unexpectedly *2026-07-01, version 4.8.0* First of all thanks, it’s a great app. I’ve tried dozens of pomodoro timer apps and all of them were either much more complicated than a pomodoro timer needs to be, or almost totally behind a very expensive paywall. I really love this one, simple and clean, and also iCloud sync with my iPhone which is really useful. Just one issue, I’ve been using this app for the past 5-6 months, at first it used to work just fine. Now it’s been around a month or so that it keeps closing unexpectedly. It only happens when it’s only in menu bar, having its window open prevents that. The timer is so simple so it won’t distract you and your able to keep track of when you had your last session, your able to personalise the length of time and the length of breaks. I love the simplicity/functionality of the app. I quite like having the a widget for this app on my desktop to see my progress throughout the day, however, I’ve noticed that the widgets “freeze”. I’ve tried to relaunch the app, remove and add the widget, restart my laptop, however on the days it acts up - nothing seems to help. Please provide a solution for this :) I have been using this app for years and the more I use it, the more I love it. Easy to setup and has helped Mme improve my focus so much! ### 3/5 — Easy to bypass *2026-03-25, version 4.8.0* Great app, but my main issue is that on iPhone, Commitment Mode can be bypassed by force-closing the app, which immediately unlocks blocked apps. Competing apps like Opal do not seem to have this loophole. Flow currently feels like blocking depends on the app staying active, whereas Opal’s restrictions seem to remain in place even after the app is closed. A second issue is break timing. If auto-start break is off, apps become available as soon as the focus timer ends, even before I press “Start Break.” That makes it easy to delay starting the break and effectively extend it. It would be much better if apps stayed blocked until the user actually presses “Start Break.” If Flow added these two features, Flow would be even better. ### 5/5 — 👍🏻 *2026-03-23, version 4.8.0* Great app—clean and effective. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — “Free” Trial is very misleading *2026-08-22, version 4.9.2* Its one thing to charge so much for a little app timer that you could clone with Claude in less than 5 minutes, but its another thing to mislead your customers into thinking they are getting 7 days to trial the app, whereas its saying you can pay for a year but get 7 days added on top. Very sneaky and misleading. -1 star for a terrible simple mediocre app that hopefully someone clones for free. Glad AI is taking away jobs from people who make overpriced apps like this. Cheers for making me spend 30 bucks accidentally for a kitchen timer. ### 1/5 — After Add Block , Add is playing in youtube *2026-08-14, version 4.9.2* Add blocker not working. ### 1/5 — Serious Sync Issues Between Mac and iOS *2026-08-05, version 4.9.1* I’m extremely disappointed with the synchronization reliability between the Mac and iOS versions. I enabled the option to sync data to Calendar, but the data never appeared in my calendar. Even worse, the data inside the Flow app itself became inconsistent — I originally had three records for today, but now only the middle one remains. There are also serious timer synchronization problems. The timer can keep running on the Mac app while the iOS notification is still active, but the iOS app itself shows no active timer at all. This makes the whole tracking system unreliable. Another confusing design choice is requiring tags for break time. Breaks are not related to my work categories, so forcing users to categorize rest periods adds unnecessary friction. The core idea of the app is productivity tracking, but inaccurate syncing and inconsistent timer states make it difficult to trust the data. Please prioritize fixing synchronization and reconsider the break tagging workflow. ### 1/5 — Please fix desync *2026-08-01, version 4.9.1* update: Down from 3 to 1 star. it just gets worse. It worked okay in the free version, but when I upgrades to paid, Live Activities will intermittently disappear. I’ve tried reinstalling, updating my iOS, restarting my phone - all to no avail. Using the pause and play feature for the timer via Live Activities seems to also cause trouble. This functionality is key to me, and one of the primary reasons I purchased the app. I wish I was eligible for a refund, but sadly am not. I've used the Flow app for several years as my go-to Pomodoro timer, and it is perfect. Its easy to set up and has a great looking design. The free-version has been free from pop-ups and ads -no distractions, yay! The paid version ($2.99/mo) has some useful features or you can pay $39.99/once to buy it for life. And its nice to have that option if it works for someone.
