The app ultimately told me it couldn't identify the plant; meanwhile within that 24-hour period I managed to identify it myself. Sorry, but not worth the download. ### 2/5 — Used to be so helpful! What happened ? *2019-04-17, version 2.0* So I’ve been using this app for at least two years now. Lately, they have not been able to identify all but one of my inquiries. I always include clear photos & my location. I used to really love this app. I certainly don’t mind 99 cents for an ID in less than 24 hours. When an inquiry comes back as “unresolved” no credits are used. This means if it’s not resolved, you don’t spend a credit (99cents). That’s good, however, I really am disappointed, as it’s super obvious it’s gone down hill. ### 4/5 — Great app have suggestion to make it better *2018-10-30, version 2.0* Would the botanist be able to give advice for unhealthy plants? Perhaps this is a new tactic in making money on apps. I am suspicious of every "free" app and I check the "in app purchases" list very carefully. I'll call it my bad on this one for being taken in by all the five star reviews and not reading over the details in detail. On the other hand this app should have been free, with "in app purchases" via buying coins. So--Note first that this is not snap a picture and find out what the plant is. Your photo will be analyzed by someone (time frame?) Not what I was expecting. Second is coin payment. I run away as fast as I can from this. In short, it's not snap and identify. We generally know our own local flora. But when we travel we observe magnificent new species. Sometimes we can sleuth and accomplish a confident identification. Sometimes we need help. We love having the expert assistance of the botanists who work with flower checker. With our additional research 100% of the identifications received have been correct. Worth every penny and every minute waiting!! ### 5/5 — It’s progress! *2018-05-25, version 2.0* I submitted a plant for review and was given the identification of the specimen, within less than a Twenty-four hour period. The review was apparently conducted by three live Botanist, at which I find to be humbling and at the same time hope to be the real deal. The team of Botanist gave me what seemed to be an honest 90% accuracy rating upon diagnosis of the species in question. I will continue to support this app, as long as certified real live botanist are getting the compensation they need and deserve. If that means they’re getting paid for their time, or just the experience of practicing Botany in a cool new way. This app has great promise! Thank you for your time! I had an answer about a half hour after I submitted it with this app. The free coins to start with are super useful! Turns out it’s a hollyhock so I won’t cut it down! ### 5/5 — Impressive service *2018-01-03, version 1.09* Although I am familiar with many plant/fungus species, there are still some (a lot!) I don't know. Happy to say that I have never won at "Stump the Botanists"; always they have come through for me, even with scarce, hard to identify specimens. Suggestion: it would be helpful to be able to upload more than 3 photos (i. e., leaf, flower, fruit, bark, growth habit).
