### 3/5 — It’s ok, but there’s certainly other ways to learn.

*2026-09-02*

Overall it’s okay, it has a reasonable amount of songs to choose from and some that I wouldn’t expect like Paranoid by Black sabbath, but I personally think it’s easier to learn how to read music and find free online sheet music. The cool thing is that you don’t need to know sheet music to learn music from flowkey because it points out the notes on the piano, but that’s doesn’t tell you toning which can be frustrating if you can’t read music. They also keep using AI generated covers for a bunch of the songs which isn’t a problem, it just feels like they put less effort into making or finding a proper cover, and it can make it confusing to find songs if you only know the cover and not the title, however that usually isn’t a problem. Additionally they have actual lessons which is cool, and I guess that’s what I was supposed to use this app for…

In summary, it good, but it might be better to try in person lessons if you really want to pursue piano and if you’re already a professional I just would flat out not recommend it, just find the sheet music for free online or something.

### 4/5 — My review

*2026-08-30, version 2.114.1*

The features are great, like the wait mode etc and there is a wide variety of songs to learn and play
However, it doesn’t pick up the notes I play very well. For example, I was playing a bit with a chord in the left and right hand but I played the same thing 3-4 times with the same notes but it didn’t work the first few times
Overall very good app and definitely recommend
4.6 stars

### 2/5 — Payment

*2026-08-25, version 2.114.1*

Warning this has subscription

### 2/5 — Not setting up or paying for subscription before I can use.

*2026-08-16, version 2.113.2*

I thought you can use this before you pay for stuff. Nope. You have to agree to a subscription before you can even use.

Im not doing that. And frankly, I am tired of SaaS, nobody can afford to SaaS anymore. Especially at these ridiculous rates of 150 per year or higher

### 4/5 — Score-Only Mode / Hide Piano Keyboard

*2026-08-16, version 2.113.2*

I’d like to suggest adding an option to hide the piano keyboard displayed above the score, allowing users to view only the sheet music. This would provide a cleaner, less distracting interface and make the app more useful for users who want to focus specifically on reading and practicing the score. A dedicated “score only” or “hide keyboard” mode would be a great addition.

### 2/5 — Not free

*2026-08-15, version 2.113.2*

At first we thought it was a very good at to start learning piano until it came up with pay per year it is not free.

### 2/5 — Wanted to like it

*2026-08-13, version 2.113.2*

I really wanted to like flowkey. The price is perfect. But I found myself stumbling and sliding back in my progress with this app. They tempo is slider is jerky and very irritating pulling my attention away from playing. It also moves hand positions around way to much for beginners. Perhaps I’m too new, but I’m going to have to go back to my old app for now.

### 4/5 — Good but not enough songs

*2026-08-06, version 2.113.2*

Not a good variety of free songs to choose from so you must pay

### 3/5 — Mic issues

*2026-08-05, version 2.113.2*

For the most part I like the app. It’s very frustrating that I have to play the same part over and over, to because I’m struggling to learn it but because the app thinks I didn’t play the right key or play any key at all. I’m trying to advance but it makes e repeat a section over and over even though I’m playing it correctly. I have an iPad that’s about 1 year old, so I don’t think it’s my device.

### 4/5 — Good, need more practice drills

*2026-08-04, version 2.113.2*

I got an excellent deal for a 5 year subscription, practically for free. I will use this to supplement with Piano Marvel. I’m an adult beginner. I enjoy the app and the exercises. I’d love to see more structured note-reading drills, rhythm exercises, and left-hand, and right- hand practice between lessons. More guided repetition would make the learning experience even stronger. Please add more exercises especially for us beginners.
Update review: I appreciate the response from the developer. And customer support does respond to any questions. I am happy with how affordable it is, and I am learning how to how play the piano.

### 4/5 — Songs

*2026-08-03, version 2.113.2*

We need more songs like Bruno Mars’s and Coldplay and Taylor swift please

### 3/5 — Its okay

*2026-08-01, version 2.113.2*

It’s cool tho

### 5/5 — I love playing the piano now

### 5/5 — How I love flowkey

*2026-07-26, version 2.113.1*

I really like flowkey how I like the keys I like how they like it feels like after I know how to play. It feels like I’m playing it really like softly that’s what I mostly love about it.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-07-24, version 2.113.1*

This is really great, starting to learn Russian National Anthem.

### 2/5 — Need more practice drills

*2026-07-23, version 2.113.1*

Not for beginners. I got an excellent deal for a 5 year subscription, practically for free. I will use this to supplement with Piano Marvel. I’m an adult beginner. ### 1/5 — Useless scam

*2026-08-27, version 2.114.1*

Having been debating signing up for quite some time I finally bit the bullet and bought a yearly subscription because I want to learn pieces I used to play when I was in my teens, mostly advanced classical. I've been a member for precisely 15 minutes and so far I haven't clicked on a single song that doesn't give me a page, telling me they're really sorry but the song failed to reload and to try again. I'll be asking for my money back. Scam. Don't waste your money.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t say the notes are correct when i’m doing it correctly

*2026-08-04, version 2.113.2*

Doesn’t work very well and has lots of bugs and i can’t really play the song if it keeps saying its incorrect. Ive been playing piano for years at a piano place and decided to just do it at home so I know I’m doing it right. 1 star, do better please fix the bug

### 1/5 — Really great I am learning

*2026-07-30, version 2.113.2*

It is really good and I have been practicing now. I think I’m gonna get better and one of my first songs. It’s really nice

### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS!

*2026-07-14, version 2.112.0*

You basically have to pay for every song on there. There are only like 5 free songs. Also I was trying to learn moonlight sonata and they have this thing where instead of teaching your self it like guides you through it. I was playing it but didn’t because I went to sleep, come back the next day and then BOOM only premium can play. I hope they stop getting downloads because they don’t deserve it. Even simply piano is better. Please developers if you see this make more songs for people who don’t pay available or I will delete this and just stick to learning songs of YouTube. And I know you thinking “ just buy premium it’s not that big of a deal” I’m a literal child and I’m already doin piano lessons so my mom said no so pls fix this! Another thing the mic doesn’t work! You can be pressing the exact note and it will say you are pressing a completely different one! Y’all are annoying and I already deleted this, told my other friends to never get this and write bad reviews, and made a YouTube video about it. So haha suckers! Fix this and I will consider taking the video down and trying the app again. I hope you lose all your revenue. You are just lazy developers! You can’t make a simple mic system! I barely know how to make apps and I could do better than you.

### 1/5 — DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS!

### 1/5 — The app does not work just as the customer service

*2026-07-04, version 2.112.0*

The slowest customer service to respond to date. The apps microphone barely catches the noise. Frustrating at best…

### 1/5 — Effective, but has issues

*2026-06-13, version 2.109.0*

It’s OK, but there’s a lot of problems with changing the position of your iPad. Also, the flow of the song does not match the playing and the music doesn’t advance itself properly.
Also, I found the exercise exercises specifically for playing with the left hand to be lacking

### 1/5 — all the songs are locked away

*2026-06-07, version 2.108.2*

yours forced to buy premium to play the good songs and have a small selection of free songs

### 1/5 — Sorry

*2026-06-01, version 2.107.1*

I don’t want to play a subscription also it was rlly slow and it would say I was playing it wrong just cause I was trying to go faster

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2026-05-22, version 2.107.1*

If the app worked as advertised, it would be a wonderful app. The problem is, all the “Bells and Whistles” that would make this a wonerful learning app, causes my iPad to freeze. Then I have to reboot my iPad so I can use it again!
