### 4/5 — This literally works

*2026-03-10, version 1.77.0*

This is helping me with bone, body pain, fibromyalgia, migraines, muscle spasms, and to relax. Diana C.
Thank you Flowly and wwp

### 4/5 — Y’all have got to be kidding with the price and the cringe

*2022-12-12, version 1.58.0*

Let me start off by saying I love Flowly as a concept. I like the app, I love the effect the sessions have on me, and out of all the HRV related apps I’ve tried, Flowly is definitely my favorite. However… there are two major drawbacks.

The first, most important one, is that Flowly is cost prohibitive. It is MUCH too expensive. Between the low budget graphics to the fact that I’ve had the heart rate monitor die on me for no reason, and that your demographic is chronically ill, and possibly on disability benefits, patients, it is simply unfair how expensive the membership is. I don’t know a single person who can justify the price. It’s frankly ableist to take advantage of people in pain, desperate for relief, like Flowly is.

The second has to do with the first in some way. I just got my “Flowly Hero Badge” and it’s beyond creepy how “drink the kool-aid” and cultish some of the language Flowly uses is. My partner is actually, sometimes jokingly sometimes not, worried that this is some sort of cult based on the language he’s seen, and he doesn’t use the app. Now I have this stupid, wasteful piece of junk that will fill up a landfill. What even is a Flowly Hero? I just want to use the app, I don’t need to join a group… it just comes off as cringy and weird.

Bottom line: Maybe instead of spending money on weird promo materials, lower the cost so your app is more accessible and more people can get the real help this app and the meditations can provide.

### 5/5 — Great for breathing exercises

*2022-06-22, version 1.49.1*

I have used this app for deep breathing after my heart surgery. It has helped my in breathing harder and expanding my chest this last year. It also helped in relaxing instead of worrying what I was feeling as my chest expands.

### 5/5 — Enjoy

*2022-05-30, version 1.48.2*

I’ve been doing Flowly for a month now and find it very easy to keep up with which isn’t always the case for me with mind body exercises. I like the app tracks my sessions for me and I enjoy exploring the Flowly worlds. I’m really happy I found Flowly I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue that is debilitating and can’t work.

### 5/5 — Best app on my phone

*2022-03-31, version 1.45.1*

This app is easily the most indispensable app on my phone. It gives you measurable ways of finding flow state and it teaches you how to take that beyond the screen. The worlds they’ve created are creative and gorgeous and events exist in these worlds that are controlled by your pulse in relation to your breathing. This isn’t a passive watch and relax app, unless you want it to be. It is most effective with participation. The subscription comes with a heart rate monitor and a visor you put your phone into to experience virtual worlds. The community and coaches are friendly and the devs are responsive. Easily worth the subscription, and then some.

### 5/5 — Affordable

*2022-03-22, version 1.45.1*

Affordable HRV visits between my biofeedback visits w my doctor. Love it!

### 5/5 — Innovative and awesome

*2022-03-08, version 1.44.0*

More effective than any other meditation apps or sessions I’ve tried. A game changer, seriously. It’s important to invest in yourself, and Flowly is totally worth it.

### 5/5 — Love Flowly!

*2022-01-17, version 1.44.0*

I don’t want to miss a day! Needed something to help calm the sympathetic nervous system and this helps me slow down my breathing before going to bed. I can visualize the inhale-exhale guide in my mind now during the day which helps me calm my breathing down even when I’m not using the headset or app. I do wish the worlds were not animation- it would be really soothing to have real nature walks by a brook type of thing… but still love it!
Fantastic product - very grateful to the creators to think of something that helps make lives better. 💝 thank you.

### 5/5 — The best

*2022-01-12, version 1.44.0*

I’ve tried a number of relaxation and meditation apps. This is the only one that has kept me coming back daily. I’ve seen great results so far. Their customer service is the best. I highly recommend Flowly!

### 5/5 — Biofeedback made easy and effective

*2021-10-13, version 1.40.0*

This app is life changing! For a better experience, be sure to warm up the Bluetooth HR monitor by wearing it for 5min or more on your ear lobe before starting.

### 5/5 — Malfunctioning sensor

*2021-09-10, version 1.38.0*

This is a great concept, but each time I attempt to do a session, the sensor is pairing is unsuccessful! A little frustrating when the tools to gauge our HRV works intermittently at best!

### 5/5 — Great so far!

*2021-08-30, version 1.38.0*

Only a couple of weeks in, but it’s been helpful for stress so far! The graphics are great, and the voiceovers are relaxing and interesting for me. I prefer some worlds over others, but there’s a lot of variety. And when I ran into some tech issues at the start, the team was really helpful. They provided prompt, professional, and patient assistance. Thank you!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — You sold out

*2024-12-29*

I discovered Flowly around 2021, during some really dark times, and it was truly a game changer. After half a lifetime of living solely in my head, discovering the connection to my body was mind blowing, and for me, it eventually opened the door to yoga and other practices.

I’ve been struggling for a few months now, trying to adjust to working life after years of staying home, and I’m not doing very well. I don’t have the time for hours of yoga and meditation anymore to get myself back into balance. So I decided to go back to what used to work (this app) and try to give my nervous system a little reset over Christmas. I still have all the equipment, so I figured it’d be just a matter of renewing a lapsed subscription on my phone.

Not the case. Come to find out that you guys moved this whole thing behind a ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR PAYWALL and decided to let the health insurance industry take their cut, as well. Nothing about the new Pain Program (again, $1000!) required you to cut off the old subscription model. But maybe that was a condition for getting an exclusive deal with Aetna?

I’m truly disgusted and also really heartbroken. Nothing good ever lasts in this world. So here is my message to Celine Tien, Julien Soros, and Narae Kim, the founders of Flowly: SHAME ON YOU.

### 1/5 — Crashes before I can use it

*2023-04-18, version 1.62.0*

Every time I enter my billing info as requested the app crashes.

### 1/5 — Mediocre, overpriced, tedious

*2022-01-21, version 1.44.0*

The onboarding process for the app is so monotonous, droning and tedious that it almost lost me immediately.

Then there are the visuals, supposedly animated by DreamWorks artists. They are incredibly primitive and look like something someone made on their Mac back in the mid-nineties.

Finally, the so-called experts backing this app have really sketchy academic credentials.

And all this is to say nothing about the fact that they try to get you to purchase a “discounted” $179 “VR” headset that’s simply one of those cheap plastic shells where you have to insert your own cellphone into a slot to serve as the screen.

### 1/5 — Ripped Off On Shipping Charge

*2021-11-15, version 1.41.0*

I signed up for the monthly pro version and it stated that a VR set and heart monitor would be shipped for free. The screen said total amount due was $29.99. When the confirmation email arrived I was charged another $11.76 for shipping that I was never told about and didn't authorize. I haven't even used the app and I feel scammed.

### 1/5 — Voice is toooo slow

*2021-04-14, version 1.22.0*

I could not use this app for long because of the moderators voice. It’s draggy and slow. Teaching people to relax etc does not require talking like you are in slow motion.

### 2/5 — $300 Paywall

*2023-10-02, version 1.68.0*

While there used to be a demo available, so you can try the core idea of the app before spending so much money, absolutely everything is behind the $310 paywall now. Not just the main “journey” but the breathing exercises, forum, click on anything at all and the upgrade pop-up appears.

It’s not an upgrade if the basic functionality of the app requires you to pay. Just charge that much to download the app at this point.

My rating is low not because they shouldn’t be allowed to charge $309 for their program, but because they’re deceptively calling it an upgrade when it’s really the basic price of the app.

### 2/5 — HR sensor won’t charge

*2022-11-12, version 1.56.0*

HR sensor won’t charge, hoping they’ll resolve this when they open back up.

### 2/5 — They should tell you…

*2022-01-09, version 1.44.0*

I need a prism in the lenses in my normal glasses because things in my field of vision separate and move. The VR device for this app does not work for me. Even with my glasses on, the device does not allow the prism in my lenses to work as they should, so this is useless to me. I paid $179. for this. Please tell me how to return and get a refund.

### 2/5 — Expensive and inaccurate

*2021-03-13, version 1.17.0*

The narrator’s voice is nice and soothing. The exercises are ok, but a bit expensive for just guided breathing. The use of the built in camera and flash to measure my heart rate and calculate my HRV is inaccurate at best—it’s also very awkward to use while trying to learn to control my breathing and trying to use the VR scenery all at the same time. What was most annoying was the sense that the app drew out the intro sessions to multiple days to trick the user into staying past the free trial period: I hate that type of marketing.
NOT worth the subscription even during the free trial.

### 3/5 — Graphics & HR Monitoring comes up short

*2021-12-31, version 1.44.0*

I really wanted to love this app & eagerly awaited my VR kit. Upon getting set up, the 1st Intro session froze after pairing. I called the “coach” number they give you when you sign up & it said they were unavailable so I texted. No reply. It is NY eve morning so maybe they decided to take the day off. So I started over & it worked the second try. Upon entering the VR session I was immediately disappointed by the blurry cheap looking graphics. I worked to adjust the headset but the best I could get was subpar. So I settled in as best I could & began to follow the guided breathing. However, my HR was all over the place, so again I was back to trying to make adjustments but the HR monitor would not consistently pick up my rate. It was down to 39 for a long stretch, then 117 and everywhere in between. In short, low quality for a premium price. Since I have 30 days to try it out I will keep at it for another week or so & see if my experience improves. I will update my review if so. If not, hopefully it will get better in the future as the company grows & I can try again. Sadly disappointed.

### 5/5 — Effective for my pain and anxiety

### 5/5 — Game Changer

*2023-10-26, version 1.68.0*

Best decision I’ve made :)

### 5/5 — Treats my Anxiety and Depression

*2023-09-03, version 1.67.2*

Flowly has been an incredible treatment for my anxiety and depression. Really, I can’t say enough how quickly and effectively it works.

### 5/5 — Great job, Flowly! And, thank you!

*2023-02-03, version 1.60.0*

I’ve been using Flowly for generalized anxiety for two weeks now. I am so impressed! After five days, I estimated that my anxiety was reduced by about 30%. It is still a journey – I’m not free of the anxiety yet, but until now, I haven’t found something I had confidence could help. What a gift! I’ve looked at other biofeedback programs, but none of them have all of the auxiliary support that Flowly does, even while the cost is about the same.To my knowledge, Flowly is uncommon in using virtual reality. The team make themselves available to answer questions; they offer a special Flowly social media, where those of us who are healing can share; they offer videoconferencing get-togethers to discuss breathing techniques and strategies for feeling better; and they even offer video conference music and art therapy sessions, all included! Flowly records data that I can access about my HRV changes overtime. I’ve encountered several different members of the team, and they have all been warm, respectful, insightful, and available. The founder replied to one of my social media posts. I laughed, and asked one of the team if they were a nonprofit, because I couldn’t imagine they were providing as much as they do! The Flowly team is on a mission to make a difference in the world, and they are doing it kindly and beautifully.

### 5/5 — Flowly helped me quit smoking

*2022-12-15, version 1.58.0*

Jeez Louise I can’t help but think back on when I was a raging nicotine addict, always strapped with a vape or pack of Turkish Royals in my back pocket, and how every morning I woke up with this pit in my stomach wondering what I’m doing with my life, only for that dreadful sensation to disappear- albeit momentarily - with that morning drag of smoke and coffee.

My life style use to be unsustainable to the point where I would sneak out of a movie theater to smoke because I had trouble with attention and an addict to dopamine. Flowly really helped open my eyes to the dangers of respiratory inflammation and how to get control over my breathing. I tried multiple programs like this such as breathwrk but nothing compares to the fun VR works I get to look around in with Flowly.

Highly recommend this application if you deal with some kind of addiction or just anxiety in general.

### 5/5 — Great app, best way to meditate

*2022-11-15, version 1.57.0*

I do meditation for quite a while, but it’s always hard for me to fully commute to the breathing part and I end up restless and bored half way through.
The graphics give me the stimulation I need to stay interested and breath graph helps keep my breathing consistent.
I have been meditating pretty much every day (and that’s new for me).
Small investment, great return.

### 5/5 — Best Meditation App to Date!

*2022-11-07, version 1.56.0*

I am so glad I upgraded to Flowly. It’s significantly improved my life. I have reduced my anxiety, decreased my resting heart rate, and improved my heart rate variability.

For years I have had a FitBit that tracks my heart rate variability. I haven’t been able to improve it.

I also subscribed to other meditation apps, thinking meditating would help improve my HRV. No real improvement, until Flowly.

The immersive app calms me down. Within two weeks I noticed major improvements in my body. Even my kiddo has Flowly sessions with me and loves the app.

### 5/5 — The best.

*2022-10-10, version 1.55.0*

This is the best purchase I have ever made. I am only a short way through the sessions but I can tell you I am much happier and relaxed. The science behind this is amazing, I highly encourage you to do your own research on bio feedback and the benefits it can have. Our minds are powerful and flowly helps unleash that power and control over our own minds and bodies.
