Most fluency scores will rise a little. • "Words to practise" now shows real vocabulary instead of everyday words like "and" and "were". Speech recognition often reads unstressed short words as unclear even when your speech is perfectly fluent, so they are no longer offered as pronunciation practice. • The off-topic notice now appears only when your overall band was actually capped, instead of on every off-topic answer. • Fixed a rare case where an answer could be transcribed twice, inflating your word count. ### 1.4.1 — 2026-07-24 Clearer bands, more trustworthy feedback. • NEW: Open the Band Guide from your results to understand FC, LR, GRA and Pronunciation — including how each band is estimated and how to improve it. • Feedback now treats words the speech recognizer is unsure about as uncertain evidence, rather than automatically calling them vocabulary, grammar or pronunciation mistakes. • Off-topic responses are handled more strictly, so a fluent answer that does not address the task cannot receive an unrealistically high overall band. • Fixed a glitch on newer iOS versions where clearly spoken words could be grouped incorrectly and affect your results. ### 1.4 — 2026-07-21 A mock interview that behaves like the real thing. • Part 3 now develops your Part 2 cue-card topic, exactly as a real examiner does — no more unrelated discussion questions. • One examiner for the whole mock: a single voice and accent from Part 1 through Part 3, including the announcements between parts. • A more honest mock report: your vocabulary, grammar and overall bands now wait until every part has been scored, instead of averaging whichever parts came back. • If a part couldn't be scored, retry just that part — results already in are never lost. • Drifting off the cue-card topic now caps your mock overall band, with a note naming the part — the same rule as solo practice. • Fixed an error that could stop scoring for some users, depending on how their network reached our servers. ### 1.3 — 2026-07-15 More free practice — and scoring that's harder to fool. • Five free scored attempts a day, up from three. • Fairer Fluency & Coherence: an answer that drifts off the cue-card topic no longer earns a high band on fluency alone — addressing the task now counts, exactly like the real exam. • A more honest overall: your estimated overall band waits until all four criteria are in, rather than averaging only some of them. • Easier to read: stronger text contrast in light mode, and the Band Ladder now shows lower bands correctly. • Clearer targets: the Band 7 and Band 8 guides now make clear that Canada (CLB) and Australia (Superior English) points depend on all four skills, not Speaking alone. • Honest calibration: logging a real result shows how our estimate compared — a check on our bands, not a promise they'll change. • A clearer message if a purchase can't be verified with the App Store. ### 1.2 — 2026-07-14 Smarter listening, steadier recording — and 3× the questions. • 3× the question bank: dozens of new original Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 topics to practise. • Sharper pause analysis: the app now reads your actual audio to tell silent pauses from um/uh fillers — and it's honest when it can't tell.
