Pretty useless. The ML learning is also a day behind, so you have to remember what was happening a day or more before to fix the training data. ### 4/5 — Latest updates are helpful *2026-04-24, version 1.9.8* I’m hoping the learned behavior update helps with false alarms when my sprinklers go off. I have been using for years and saved me many times. But it doesn’t integrate with smartthings and apple home. It will be much helpful if we can integrate with SmartThings and apple home so family members doesn’t need to have many apps. But still one admin member can install flume app to manage it. Not integrating is a very ancient old unfriendly way. We all appreciate if it integrates. ### 3/5 — Some App Flaws *2025-08-08, version 1.8.0* This app is very useful and it detected an irrigation leak on the first day we used it. However, the app doesn’t allow rotation so you have to use it in portrait mode. Also, it doesn’t seem to work with Passwords. Can’t find Flume in the passwords app. ### 2/5 — Does not detect leaks! *2025-08-05, version 1.8.0* If you have a slow leak, flume will not detect it. Flume is only good for calculating a “ballpark” figure for your monthly bill. I put too much trust in flume and missed a slow leak under my house. I have two properties that a rent as well as my own home. One of my rental properties previously had a pipe burst while the tenant was out, water ran for a week, flooded the house and caused over 100k worth of damage. This tool is incredibly simple to install and provides a valuable safety net to alert you if there is a leak (also great tool to get insight into your water usage). It’s very helpful for understanding how much water your irrigation system uses too. One feature request is for water leaks to be alerted as “critical alerts” that alert even when do not disturb is enabled. ### 3/5 — Interface improvements needed *2025-03-16, version 1.7.10* (Review is based on user w/multiple devices in app.) Good: it’s a fantastic tool for property management. Fix a few things and this app would be 5-star for all property managers. Bad: Unfriendly interface for user w/multiple water meters: 1) When clicking on an iPhone notification, the app opens but it doesn’t go to the notification. So trying to find which property it came from can be difficult. Solution for programmer: A Home Page should be added where ALL notifications can be viewed at once. 2) The device list order can’t be adjusted which can be difficult to find items since the active one goes to the top then moves back randomly(?) into the list when another device is chosen which is confusing b/c of problem 1 above. Solution for programmer: Either make list in alphabetical order or allow the user to adjust the list order. Do not move the active device to the top. Bold lettering is enough to determine which device is being viewed. ### 5/5 — You are crazy not to buy one of these *2025-03-15, version 1.7.10* We had several huge water bills at our Condo. Installed a flume on the main water meter to the condo and it helped us track down and correct numerous problems. Installation, setup and using the app are all a breeze. ### 5/5 — Sensitive, accurate, helpful *2025-03-04, version 1.7.10* I have used Flume for several years at two homes. It has alerted me a few times about leaks and allowed me to locate and address the problem—usually in our outdoor drip irrigation systems.Once I had to dig down about 18 inches to discover an underwater PVC joint leak that was significant. Got notification and had to shutoff main and then figure out where the leak was. The paid subscription makes no sense to me and should be free. Data collection from app is also minimal. Bought 2 new batteries, installed FLUME2 but cannot get it to connect to my wi-fi. Customer service is poor. They are too swamped to help, so they say. YouTube vids say product is trash…I can see why now!! ### 1/5 — False Alarms *2025-06-20, version 1.8.0* After driving 40 miles at 1AM in response to a 8+ GPM water leak alert, I was pleasantly surprised that no water leak or usage had occurred. Even shut off the water for peace of mind and app continued to show usage for a couple of more hours. How do I trust the Flume Meter after this? Had been using for about 2 months with no problems. Not sure what I will do…. ### 1/5 — More frustrating than helpful *2025-04-24, version 1.7.12* The Flume only picks up major water usage so a slow leak over time is undetected. I have found water leaks on my own simply by checking inside the cabinets underneath sinks. The purpose is to prevent water damage but unless you check your app/phone/email frequently, you might not see the notification until damage has occurred. Recently I updated the app and now nothing is appearing. I already have to change the $20 battery pack every 6 months and have to constantly deal with something not working, either the wi-fi connection, the units position has shifted or investigate and waste more time to figure why no data appears. Whilst the stated purpose is useful, the actual function doesn’t match the expectation. ### 1/5 — Recalibration process is terrible *2025-02-23, version 1.7.10* Replaced a battery, put the flume back exactly the same way, and I’ve tried recalibrating for hours and wasted so much water. Support can’t figure it out. I’m giving up and spreading the word about my terrible experience. Wasted a whole afternoon on what I thought was a simple battery replacement. ### 1/5 — Annoying and doesn’t learn *2024-11-29, version 1.7.9* This app doesn’t seem to learn what the normal flow of the house is. It just keeps alerting me to a leak that doesn’t exist. There is no way to manually train it. For example I’d like to tell it “that is the dishwasher running”. That is the sink. That is the shower. It’s supposed to figure this out on its own by “AI”. If that’s the case my dog is smarter than that AI. I’ll give it a couple weeks, then I’m ripping it out and throwing it away. ### 1/5 — Cannot even get enrolled - error messages *2024-11-26, version 1.7.9* Wasted time trying to enroll in this app tonight and repeatedly getting an error message “too many requests - try later”. After one attempt. Waited and tried again. Same thing. You have to start over and enter all your info again each time - about ten fields of information - only to get this error message. This lets me sleep easy at night. I’m also more conscious of my water usage and budget. The whole system was easy to set up and monitoring on the app is intuitive. I called my daughter and told her to check faucets and toilets. She said the toilet was running. She shook the handle and it stopped running. If I didn’t have flume thousands of gallons would have been wasted before I got home to fix it. Thank you flume! ### 5/5 — Good Customer Service! *2026-02-01, version 1.9.6* I was having a problem with my Flume meter. It seemed like it was going through batteries way too fast. I was able to get another Flume meter and a flume bridge from a coworker who couldn’t use it anymore because it wasn’t compatible with her new water meter. I was having difficulties scanning the QR code and getting the system set up but a good technician named Keller was able to figure it out for me, he entered all my data on his end, and it turned out that that worked very well. This event ended up with a happy customer😊 ### 5/5 — Great and getting better! *2026-01-28, version 1.9.6* Flume does a great job tracking water usage and detecting potential leaks, such as running toilets or dripping faucets. A user can set a threshold for the amount of time that water is running; Flume alerts the user when water has been continuously used for more than that threshold. The newer algorithms also seem to take historical usage into account when alerting for leaks. We have whole house humidifiers on two furnaces. Although I’ve set my leak detection threshold to 3 hours, the app sometimes indicates that water was continuously being used for over 24 hours, which is not the case. It would be nice to be able to parameterize a usage reset interval; the current algorithm seems to ignore that usage dropped to 0 for at least 15 minutes. All of the “real” leaks I’ve seen in the past never drop water usage to 0 at all; there’s always a —sometimes minute— usage each minute. ### 5/5 — Amazing Device *2025-12-02, version 1.9.4* This unit was provided free of charge by my homeowners insurance company. This device has helped me manage my water usage. I wish I had this device some months back when I had a drip irrigation malfunction and was hit with a $350 water bill, normally $170. Since installing Flume, I’ve managed to take my bill from $170 to $110. The dashboard and detail sections are easy to navigate and provide helpful insight of your water usage. It’s very easy to install. I highly recommend if you want to manage water consumption and bring your bill down a few dollars. ### 5/5 — Flume Assessment *2025-11-19, version 1.9.3* Once we got our connectivity issues resolved the flume system has worked perfectly.
