## What is FlutePrac?

This innovative iPad app helps beginner to intermediate flautists, and is the ideal partner during practice sessions. Place your iPad on a music stand, then run FlutePrac for your flute warm-up, scales and long notes.

There is no navigation within the app that requires you to take your hands off your flute, so FlutePrac makes it easy to:
* Check your posture and embouchure on the screen while you play
* Reinforce learning of notes played with positions on staff and ledger lines
* Adjust pitch with feedback from a chromatic tuner
* See the duration of each long note played
* Track overall time spent in the practice session

FlutePrac was developed by a flautist for flautists, so doesn't have the quirks that you may have experienced in other apps, such as guitar tuners. The algorithm is based on research from the University of Otago, and is both fast and accurate.

Note from developer:
I have previously used this app for myself, and this is its first public release. I have great plans to add many more useful features to FlutePrac, so you might want to download it now while it is still free. Please provide me with feedback on how you use FlutePrac so that I can make it suit more than just my own needs!

## Key features

- Posture and embouchure check
- Note position reinforcement
- Chromatic tuner with pitch feedback
- Long note duration tracking

### 1/5 — Just no don’t get it

*2024-03-11, version 1.0.1*

No it’s pointless

### 1/5 — Pointless.

*2023-07-08, version 1.0.1*

I managed to turn on my microphone and camera, but other than that nothing else works. I tried to enable the option to see ‘live notes’ on the staff by playing Jingle Bells on my flute, but nothing happened. I pressed everything that I could but NOTHING. I don’t really recommend downloading! Also, the position the flute player is in while playing the flute in the app preview photos is totally wrong. You’re supposed to angle the flute at a slight downward angle with your fingers curved, but still relaxed, and balancing the flute with one of your thumbs since it likes to wobble ever so slightly while you’re playing.

### 1/5 — Did not function

*2020-04-28, version 1.0.1*

The app does not work. Comes up with a dark screen with music ledger at the bottom. It stated it needed access to camera in privacy settings but nowhere in the privacy settings does it list the app for changes. In the regular settings it lists app with no additional functions to turn on or off. Could not get the app to do anything, deleted.
