## What is Flux?

Flux is the modern, uncluttered file manager for FTP, FTPS, SFTP and
WebDAV servers, built for iPhone and iPad. Web hosting, NAS or cloud
storage: connect in seconds and manage your files with an interface that
feels the way it should.

CONNECTS TO EVERYTHING
• FTP and FTPS (encrypted) for classic servers and web hosting
• SFTP over SSH for root servers, VPS and anything with shell access
• WebDAV for Synology NAS, Nextcloud, ownCloud and many more
• Save as many servers as you like in a tidy address book
• Passwords kept safely in the iOS keychain, never in plain text
• Connection test right when you add a server

FILES UNDER CONTROL
• Browse, create, rename and delete folders
• Upload single or multiple files AND folders in one go
• Download to the app folder or to any location you pick
• View images, PDFs and text files right inside the app
• Built-in editor for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Markdown and more:
edit and send straight back to the server
• Set permissions (chmod) with simple switches
• Multi-select with "Select all" for bulk actions
• Copy a public link to any file

ARCHIVES, NO DETOURS
• Unpack ZIP files directly on the server
• Pack files and folders on the server into a ZIP
• Upload a local ZIP and have it unpacked right away

MOVE AND COPY
• Move files and entire folders within one server
• Copy or move from one server to another
• Works across protocols too, for example FTP to WebDAV

STRAIGHT FROM GITHUB
• Pick repository, branch and folder instead of typing them
• Send a specific folder to a specific target on your server
• Perfect for publishing a website, no computer needed

TRANSFERS IN PLAIN SIGHT
• Progress in a bubble that slides in from the top
• Cancel a running transfer at any time
• Asks before overwriting: replace the file or keep both
• Keeps going with large files and slow servers

BACKUPS WORTH THE NAME
• Save your server list to a file and restore it whenever you need
• Optionally encrypted including passwords, protected by your own
  passphrase
• Stored in iCloud Drive it survives even a new device

YOUR STYLE
• Light and dark mode, or follow the system automatically
• Five accent colours to choose from
• Fully available in English and German

HONEST AND PRIVATE
• No ads, no tracking, no analytics
• No user accounts, no cloud of ours
• Your credentials stay on your device

Flux follows one simple principle: your data belongs to you. The app only
ever connects to the servers you enter yourself.

Get Flux and bring order to your servers: fast, secure and good-looking.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2026-10-04*

Love the app. Can we set the move action starting folder like you can set the opening starting folder?

Appreciate the hard work on this awesome app.

**Developer response:** Thanks, glad you're getting use out of it.

Yes, and it's in the next update. Rather than a second setting to fill in, the destination picker now starts where you last moved or copied something
on that server, and the first time at the server's start directory, the same one that decides where you land when you open it. So if you work in /html/customer/web, that's where Move opens too, instead of dropping you at the root every time.

I went that way because a separate "move start folder" would have been a second question whose answer is almost always the one you already gave to
the first. If that turns out to be wrong for how you work, tell me and I'll add the explicit setting.

Best,
Marc

### 5/5 — Der beste FTP/WebDAV-Browser im App-Store

*2026-10-02*

**Developer response:** Hi NrmBln,

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-06

The destination remembers
Move and copy start where you last moved something. The first time at the server's start directory, instead of at the top every time.

Accent colour everywhere
Your chosen colour now applies to the file picker too, which used to stay teal whatever you picked.

Both came from reviews. Thank you for those.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-10-02

Search and filter
Every list now has a search field. Sort by name, size, date or kind, and filter by file kind. Your server list is searchable too.

Search across subfolders
Not where you expected it? "Search in subfolders" walks the directory tree, shows matches with their full path while it runs, and can be stopped at any time.

Tap to open
A tap on a file opens it straight away, in the preview or the editor. You decide which does what in Settings.

Safer SFTP connections
Flux remembers a server's host key on the first connection and refuses to continue if it later changes. The fingerprint is shown in the server editor.

Also
The preview can be closed again. Release notes for every version are in Settings, next to a link for rating the app.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-29
