### 2/5 — Mediocre reader

*2024-12-21*

Mediocre player. I really wish the content I am reading was on a different app. The controls are non-intuitive and it is practically impossible to annotate or highlight from the iPhone. Bookmarks? forget it, just plain impossible to use. No wide view. Ugh.

### 2/5 — Twitchy reader app

*2024-11-21*

Really difficult to enlarge type, highlight text, etc. the whole thing quits very easily, interrupting reading progress.

### 2/5 — Brief Rewind/ffwd Audio Control

*2024-02-04*

The app does fine playing the audio lecture I’m listening to if all you need is play and pause. However, if I happen to miss something that was said, I have to slide back the progress bar to go back which is clumsy and a pain. Here’s a simple fix for Flux… add a back 30 seconds button and a forward 30 seconds button! Make it easy like virtually every other audio app in 2024.

### 4/5 — The new

*2023-05-26*

Great job luxe what a Vue

### 3/5 — App continues to improve

*2023-05-17, version 13.2.0*

The performance of this app continues to improve. Reliability is getting better for readers using the app. It does need to get better at serving readers, however.
It finally incorporated note-taking, which is nice. But competing apps better support a scholarly readership, by allowing the export of succinct notes, with associated citations. This is important to someone who reads to write about what they read and well with the bounds of respect for copyright. It’s not an offense to copyright to quote or to use one’s own notes written in one’s own words. And auto citation with notes extraction actually would promote respect for copyright.
I haven’t used the app much to play videos, but my few times doing so have worked OK.
I have used this app with Apple’s tvOS to play video, and that worked out fine for me at the time.
Most of the time I use the app to read ePub and PDFs on iPhone or iPad and that has worked for me.
I’m looking forward to the app supporting font embedding, so that ePUB ebooks I read can look as good in FluxPlayer as they do in Apple Books, for example. Even if font embedding isn’t supported, a good starting point would be to let readers select from a collection of open source serif, sans serif and mono spaced fonts.
Finally, I’d like to see app notifications convey more information when content is added to my collection. I’d like to know what has been added when it is added.
In time the app preferences for what can be auto-downloaded versus downloaded on demand versus just streamed could be made better. Users with access to large collections of content might, for example, want one category of content or one subscription to auto-download, but to receive a notification (with information) about other content, and downloading it on request.
The all or nothing proposition now offered is not that convenient. There may be some content you want to know can be available to you any time you are not connected to the Internet, and you don’t want to have to think to download it. Podcast apps have mastered these sorts of controls.
I also use FluxPlayer app on Mac. Most of my comments here apply to that version of the app, as well.

### 3/5 — Highlighting

*2023-01-14*

When trying to capture/highlight text, it keeps advancing to a different page or it loses the capture.
very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Frustrating and Clumsy

*2023-01-05*

This is the worst reading app i have ever used. The highlighting function is impossible to work correctly, the pages randomly reset, the books take a long time to open, the annotation features are clumsy. In short: i hate it.

### 1/5 — Awful windows program

*2022-11-30*

I had to use this app to access a document for Science Olympiad.
On my windows PC, the program accepted my login and acquired a license but won’t let me download anything. It just gives me an error message that says “OK” along with an OK button. Well, no, not OK.

### 1/5 — Seriously?

*2022-05-04, version 12.2.3*

It’s almost inconceivable that after all these years you haven’t put you app on Apple TV.
The app on Google Chromecast would be fine if you didn’t have to start at the beginning every time you go back to watch a video.

### 1/5 — SIGN UP PAGE

*2021-10-30*

LOL! Where do you register for this app? I ordered a audio book, I can get to it. I’ve been on the iPhone app and windows and nothing. You’re asking for an email and password. I don’t understand.

### 1/5 — Can not enlarge font

*2021-10-12*

Had no choice but to use this app for the book I needed to purchase for a class and it’s horrible. The font of the book is tiny and there is no way to enlarge the text.

### 2/5 — Reliable but I can’t print any diagrams

*2021-10-06*

I mean the content is always reliably there. I have a Massey Ferguson service manual. It would be really nice if I could print like a few pages off the app. Oily hands and iPhones aren’t ideal. There was a print icon up in the corner but it was grayed out.

### 1/5 — The worst reading app

*2021-09-10*

If I didn’t have to purchase the book and use this app, I wouldn’t have known how bad it is….
Apparently, the developers of the app have no idea how e-reading and studying is done…
Worst experience ever.
Not modified for mobile, just scanned pages which you gonna have to enlarge manually. Can’t highlight the important material…

### 1/5 — This player is worthless

*2021-01-25, version 11.3.0*

Unfortunately when I bought the digital version of Chronicles of Narnia, I was forced to use this player. It’s absolutely terrible at playing audio books, and it’s even more terrible at downloading audiobooks. It’s extremely slow and it crashes all the time.

### 1/5 — Can not print content. View content only.

*2021-01-17, version 10.11.2*

Purchased blueprints and was directed to download this app. I can view the blueprints with the app. I cannot print out anything from the blueprints. Useless.
Use FluxPlayer on Mac operating system or another platform.

### 1/5 — So much wasted time!

*2020-10-07, version 10.7.0*

I normally don’t post reviews, but I have wasted so much time on this app. Every time I try to download my purchased material I spend over 30 minutes trying to get the app to work. Tonight I spent over an hour and it still won’t work!

### 3/5 — Great but I need help

*2020-09-24*

I’ve enjoyed this app and it’s really useful but lately it’s been giving me problems. I had to delete it because it was taking up too much storage, I got more storage and was really looking forward to using it again but now when I try to sign into it, it keeps making me put my email address and password in and it keeps saying the password or email address is incorrect. I really want to use this app but it’s impossible to get through now. I’ve been trying to get in for half a year on and off and it’s still the same.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-07-08*

### 1/5 — Unable to Cast in HD

*2025-04-28, version 15.2.2*

When trying to cast titles to any TV, it only plays it in below SD quality. Cannot even be watched. Contacted the app developer for assistance, and got no reply. Very bad!

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-07-04, version 13.6.2*

Worked for a day. Crashes every time now.
Deleted.

### 1/5 — No longer works on Apple TV

*2024-06-29*

Well, you finally got it on Apple TV and it worked well for a while. Now all I get after logging in is a white screen.

### 1/5 — Horrible Stability

*2023-04-06*

The app is so unreliable. Once I verified my content and downloaded it I should not have to constantly validate a connection with the app. Do I really own the content, hmm perhaps not with how the app is unconditionally awful.

### 1/5 — Crash monster

*2023-02-20*

Crashing when trying to open. Any content provider using this is way, way behind. I can’t get to my purchased content and will abandon it at this point.

### 1/5 — Why?

*2023-01-16*

Why any content producer would specify this reader is beyond me. Total garbage, klunky interface. How to get my documents out of this? Anyone know?

### 1/5 — I would give it no stars

*2023-01-12*

This app is worthless. I downloaded it for one thing and it won’t play. Every time I try it freezes. I have deleted and reinstalled and restarted my phone and nothing works. I will have to purchase the item again on a different platform because I cannot take the frustration.

### 5/5 — Flux player app

*2014-03-30, version 3.5.1*

I downloaded this app.
Using a iPad with iso7.
But I'm not allowed to use it because, the app won't recognise my email address or my password.

Therefore, no star's.
It would seem this app is a total waste of time.

### 5/5 — Flux Player Rocks!

*2012-11-10*

I simply installed program on my PC running win7 & installed app on my iPhone 4S. I transferred the MP4 that I wanted & it did it wirelessly in 7 minutes; iTunes did not have to be open. Great picture & sound. I used flex player & this is by far much easier. Great app!!! Thank You!
