(I don’t play multiplayer online so I can’t speak to that.) I believe it saves if you quit the app, though I think it replays the animation of the last turn, which isn’t a dealbreaker. I don’t play with the expansions, so I can’t speak to how those work. In the past the zombie expansion would freeze mid-game. That may have been fixed, but I prefer to play the base game anyway so I haven’t tested it recently. The game plays well on a phone since you can zoom in on cards. After you’re familiar with them all you won’t even have to zoom. I recommend this light strategy game where you can never predict the outcome. It’s chaotic and enjoyable if you accept the chaos. ### 4/5 — Hoping For More Versions! *2025-07-01, version 2.1.8* I just discovered this app tonight. I realize it is old. I hope the creators keep updating and add some more versions. I especially enjoy Star Fluxx, Star Trek Fluxx, and Doctor Who Fluxx (though I realize due to copyright/royalties the TV show-based versions would probably be too expensive to incorporate into the app. But I can hope! It took about 20-30 minutes to figure out how the app version worked. Sometimes buttons in the main menu won’t respond. Or even checking notifications . You have to tap the game, wait for it to load, and let the last play replay itself. But other then that the game is beautifully designed and very responsive. I noticed immediately that notifications aren’t working, no biggie… until I see more than five games open and waiting to start (with multiplayers) and suddenly the app seems overwhelmed because the offline games are constantly shutting off before I can finish them, and the screens are overlapping each other when I toggle between them. Hink I remember seeing something, but I also did not see a quick way to return to the main menu for help...thanks... ### 3/5 — Good but nowhere near great. *2023-10-17, version 2.1.5* It’s a decent implementation of Fluxx, but there are a few problems. Firstly, the cards don’t seem to directly correspond to any of the tabletop versions, with a few Goals and Keepers missing, but even more New Rules missing. Some of the missing rules are ones that can be confusing on the tabletop version (Add 1 any time a card prints a number; draw one more if you have the fewest Keepers; play one more if you have the most) that would be trivial for a computer to keep track of. Online play is the worst feature, though. You can set a variety of time limits, from 15 minutes to 21 days. The very few times I was the last player to join a game, however, nothing happened. (Possibly because the person who created the match was no longer on their device?) So I created an hour long 2 player game, which after a short wait, got a second player. I don’t usually like to update apps but took a chance when I saw that online play was available. I’m happy that the game itself was not altered. But the online portion is a joke. It appears to be turn based meaning others don’t have to be online to make a move. With a game like Fluxx this is a nightmare as it can be a long game. I saw games started that were waiting an hour, four hours, even a day for others to join and play. And when I became fourth chair in one game I made a move then realized five minutes later no one else was there. I came back later in the day and one other had made a move. This is insane. Please help! ### 4/5 — Got Wonky On Last Update *2021-11-27, version 2.1.5* It’s a good app, but on the last update the layout now cuts off the corners of the board. I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal but it cut off the indicator that showed if the other person was online still playing. So now I just have to sort of wait around to see if they’re still online and playing at the moment. Because I’m learning the game, I think the cards move too quickly so I can’t read them. When I hold the card up my finger is often in the way. It’s hard to determine which card does what because the game moves way too fast. If I choose a card, it should stay up until I click on it. This game needs to slow down. There’s potential here but it’s not here yet. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Crashes during zombie Fluxx *2023-09-04* The regular game works fine. If you add creepers, it works fine. But when I activate zombie Fluxx, the game crashes mid-game EVERY SINGLE TIME. Quitting and restarting and then opening the saved game, it crashes again at the same spot. You end up just deleting the saved game because it’ll just crash. I tried multiple games and they all crashed and couldn’t be finished. I’m playing solo against AI. I paid for the zombie flux expansion. My phone is updated. There is no excuse for constant crashing. I regret making the extra purchase. I’ll just stick with the base game. I like supporting good indie developers, but if they take money and don’t fix bugs like this that’s not ok. It hasn’t been updated for a year, so clearly that’s a problem. Do not buy the expansions unless you see this get fixed. And developer fix your game or stop taking people’s money. I select Offline, create a new game, and whether I choose Zombie Fluxx or original with keepers it starts loading the game, gets to 45% loaded and crashes. Weapon bonus uses a play when it is not supposed to. Play all but 1 occasionally behaves the same as play all. If you use “Let’s do it again” to ‘take another turn’ after you played “Take another turn” on your last turn it won’t give you a third turn as intended. It would be nice to see the game board centered vertically on newer phones. ### 5/5 — An absolute blast! *2023-12-13, version 2.1.5* This is such a fun game to play! 2 years is a long time to go without an update. So excited to see what they have in store for us!! ### 5/5 — My Favorite Card Game *2023-02-15, version 2.1.5* I love Fluxx and have about 10 different decks and a few add-ons too. This bring the core game and the super fun Zombie Fluxx to life. I play this way more than I should 😁 Note to devs: still needs some work and debugging. One thing I’ve noticed when playing with two computer players: very often, when player 2 wins the round, the app says that player 3 is the winner. I’ve also deal with some crashes and unrecoverable games when there are too many rules on the board. I usually just kill the affected game and start a new one, but the crashing needs to be investigated. ### 5/5 — Best game ever to be created *2022-11-13, version 2.1.5* There is online chat ### 5/5 — Great game *2021-11-17, version 2.1.5* I don’t know I missed this great card game since it’s been out a long time, but I’m glad I found it. The developer keeps it updated and has monetized it so fairly, with only optional IAP, and there are no ads. This is how games should be done. I love that it saves progress if you need to go back to a game later. I’m enjoying playing against the AI. You don’t get bored with this game because it constantly changes depending on the cards in play. And you can win, or lose, in an instant if things line up the right way, which makes it exciting. And because a lot of luck is involved, the strategy is relaxed, not stressful, so it’s perfect for a more casual player. It’s also addicting, you always want to play just one more. One thing would like to see is if someone plays hand limit 1 and you have a bunch of cards to be able to select the one to keep and it automatically takes the other cards for you so you don’t need to drag them or if it’s hand limit zero just take all the cards why do I need to drag them.
