### 2/5 — A lot of potential but misses the mark.

*2026-07-02, version 1.3.9*

Many of the classes don’t work. the app crashes a lot resulting in you never getting to progress. You games and animations are fine but the whole Portuguese class doesn’t work it crashes or just doesn’t active lessons. French classes crash once you get to any of the combat sessions at least for me. A lot of crashing and infinite loading screens. A good effort and the explanation of lessons are good for the French part. This has great potential so I’ll update my review once the app isn’t so buggy. The team should still be proud of themselves they really have a good start and it could be great soon.

### 3/5 — Please Keep Developing it!

*2026-05-01, version 1.3.9*

It’s a wonderful app, and it’s beautifully designed. And I think it would be a really great language learning game. There’s just a lot of little bugs and issues that, if fixed, would make it so much better. (Note: so far I’ve only used it as an English speaker learning Japanese, which I think is why I’m experiencing a lot of issues. On top of learning the spoken language you have to learn multiple forms of writing. I suspect that using it with languages like Spanish or German might function better.)

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2026-04-05, version 1.3.9*

This app looked very promising. It would definitely be a good way to learn a language by playing games. I'm learning Italian and when I click on Italian, it says: "so you wanna learn Spanish, buena elección!" Like no, I don't wanna learn Spanish. If I wanted to, I would've clicked on it instead of Italian.

### 3/5 — Has some bugs

*2026-01-16, version 1.3.9*

1.) The "find the missing word" is broken. It shows a sentence thats perfect and expects me to click a word that is already in the sentence.
2.) Sometimes the options are blank
3.) Sometimes the audio doesnt work
4.) And newest, sometimes none of the options are correct

The app is better than duolingo but massively needs work. Its been a year and ive yet to notice any fixes for Japanese!
I want this app to be successful! P.s. im on an iphone 11 pro

### 4/5 — Kinda meh but

*2025-09-16, version 1.3.9*

Nice music. Also, the pods are really fun 😇

### 2/5 — Sound issues

*2025-08-20, version 1.3.9*

I like using the app and I've slowly learned some but the biggest problem with this app is the absolutely abysmal audio issues. I will have to press the audio button over and over until one out of 10-20 instances of it saying a syllable of the language comes though in a full unbroken sound. And sometimes male or female voices just don't play audio at all. I've had to guess on random words/hiragana because it genuinely doesn't play audio and the fast that after 8 months this issue still persists is insanity. I would take a skilled programmer or a novice using ChatGPT 5 min to go and change the code to make audio have a short 1.5 second delay at normalized audio level with the apps other sfxs. That's really the only issue I have with this app nothing else but that issue makes the app hard to use.

### 3/5 — Disappointment Ensuing

*2025-06-28, version 1.3.9*

I enjoy this app and am really learning so far. I decided to get premium and jumped into the intermediate courses (there are no lesson until April I think). There still is no update for intermediate courses even though it is 2 months past April. I definitely enjoy this app more than Duolingo, but I feel I’m wasting my money on premium. I’m actually learning, but I’d like to know that I’m supporting an app that is following through or can at least update communication and be open and clear about developments.

### 2/5 — Still has a lot of bugs

*2025-06-11, version 1.3.1*

Been waiting years for this game. The first language I selected and was working towards is Korean. Out of curiosity I decided to switch to Japanese to see if I would like it. Now, I’m trapped on the Japanese learning page and I can’t tap anywhere else except “Continue” blue button and I’m able to start the other lessons. None of the other buttons to move to other sections of the app work, none at all. I’m not sure why this is happening, if this is a tutorial preventing me from escaping to other parts of the app (Which is honestly an annoying feature and a bit of a waste of time for people just wanting to take a peak at other languages). I want to switch back to Korean but as of now, without another way to switch, I’ll be forced to learn Japanese which isn’t so bad but it renders the entire app useless, regardless of this being a side effect to a tutorial phase. Forgot to mention that the home screen with my dolphin, the area beneath the “Continue” button is greyed out. There’s nothing available there but I’m certain something is supposed to be there. I hope this bug gets fixed, but if it’s a feature, it’d be better to work around enhancing this as it is a bit inconvenient for players and learners.

UPDATE: The app no longer opens and stays on the Fluyo opening screen.

UPDATE: Reinstalled the app and was able to get in. Had a hard time logging in, since you HAVE to do the tutorial in order to log in. I’m still stuck on the Japanese language page, unable to click elsewhere and only able to do the Japanese lessons.

Terrible app in dire need of bug fixes, design work, and good content that can put it above all other language learning apps, because right now it doesn’t stand a chance compared to others in the category.

UPDATE 6/11/2025: This game still needs a lot of work to be done. The subscriptions are too high for such a low-quality product, it’s unbelievable.

### 4/5 — Payment 😞

*2025-05-16, version 1.3.1*

I know it’s still in development but this is still some pretty good stuff right here. It is kinda sucky that you need to pay after a bit, but I know they need the money. What if after a bit instead of having to pay, you can make it to watch an ad for each lesson. And maybe even put the ad in the designated language, so it’s a win-win. Like if you’re learning Spanish, you’ll get a Spanish ad and what not. That would be neat.

### 3/5 — Fairly Strong Language Game so far, Needs Improvements

*2025-05-01, version 1.3.0*

Pretty cute so far! I appreciate that I can keep playing without paywalls so far. That should stay that way. I will say the Wayfinder character is extremely bothersome. I don’t want a video game version of a human teaching me. Make it an animal or get rid of it all together. The progression isn’t very clear to me, as I have tried to skip ahead as much as possible but it still lists earlier segments as less than 100% complete. There should be a mechanic to test out of levels and reap all the rewards from them.

### 3/5 — Not loading

*2025-05-01, version 1.3.0*

Updated this morning now the app not loading

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Fluyo is a scam

*2026-07-12, version 1.3.9*

(Gave this a negative review a year ago because the state it launched in. I look at it now and see it hasn’t received an update in a year. Lol I was right about the scam it seems. Took peoples money and ran away with it. Never trust a kickstarter again.)

Aside from the abysmal state it launched in… The moment I heard the dull, monotone AI teacher pronounce “quiere” like “key-air” while doing the Spanish wayfinder lessons, I knew this app was fundamentally flawed.

This app is cheap and lazy and not at all hand crafted. This is the work of AI technology and cheap digital assets. Which makes me wonder, where did all that money from kickstarter and donations go to? Cause it sure wasn’t Fluyo. Hospital bills maybe? 🤔

I’m better off with the apps I’ve been using as they as far superior. Which is sad, cause if u followed the journey of Fluyo like I did, u would know this was supposed to be fun and “the app to replace all apps”. Yah… what a joke. It’s neither.

### 1/5 — Just completely mid

*2026-07-09, version 1.3.9*

Honestly the most basic thing you could think of as a language learning app. I feel as if the creator of this app really made this sound like it was going to be worth the wait however everything feels rushed and almost fake and second hand. The animations are clunky as well as the buttons. Overall an extraordinarily bang average design which would only appeal and most likely impress a 3 year old. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2026-04-02, version 1.3.9*

Wont even open, keeps crashing on my 17, did the same thing on my android

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-11-19, version 1.3.9*

I paid $200 on the kickstarter and was excited but when it launched Chinese was only a partial language and it was said that Chinese would be available a couple months after, with partial languages there almost no content and now it is asking me to pay a subscription. Waste of money

### 1/5 — App funded with $3mil that doesn’t function properly

*2025-10-18, version 1.3.9*

Literally any other language app is better than this. I followed this project since it was on kickstarter years ago. Horrible app. Learned more on duolingo for free.

### 1/5 — Overpromise and underdeliver

*2025-08-24, version 1.3.9*

So much hype and the end product is terrible to the point of being unusable. Slow, no logical learning progression or teaching and riddled with bugs. What a disappointment.

### 1/5 — Horrible App and an even worse team behind it

*2025-06-23, version 1.3.1*

This app is awful. I donated $120 to the kickstarter and didn’t get one thing they promised. I got beta access that never worked and when I kept contacting them about access or fixing the issue, I got no response. Now the app is fully released and it’s horrendous for language learning. Don’t waste your time or money on this scam.

### 1/5 — Worthless money grab

*2025-06-15, version 1.3.1*

Public school language classes used to be the worst way to learn a language. That was until Fluyo launched. The "lessons" are full of errors. The battles and minigames are slow, simple, and repetitive. The app functioned like it was in early alpha on launch day, and they had the audacity to charge people for premium.

After 6 months they've managed to correct some of the bugs and make some improvements, but it honestly seems like they hired their programmers fresh out of their first Udemy coding course and had them learn on the job. The only positive thing I can say about Fluyo is that the graphics are very cute.

I thoroughly regret pledging ~$150 on kickstarter for this garbage.

### 1/5 — Disappointed...seriously

*2025-05-21, version 1.3.1*

The battles ruin it for me, sorry, and it is a requirement to advance on the path. Took me forever just to get past the first one and I know a lot of Deutsch. Thinking about coming back to the app and doing a stupid battle feels more like a chore to me, and not much fun.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-04-07, version 1.2.6*

Backed with a ton of money but Incomplete support for languages like Chinese……

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2026-02-17, version 1.3.9*

Now this is a app you can really learn from. My man finally got it together. God bless him for this app. He literally took from all these other apps and compiled Them into one powerful fun filled app that actually sticks. Can’t wait for that Portuguese Brasileiro

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-01-28, version 1.3.9*

I struggle with staying involved with language apps and this is the first one that was able to break down the why of the sentence structure and how sentences are formed/spoken. I know you guys are still working on it but I have finished all of the current french lessons and am waiting for more to be released. Also would love some challenges with written and spoken practices and maybe a section where you can practice reading comprehension. But overall I really enjoy this and can't wait for more things to be released! Hopefully soon!

### 5/5 — Im very impressed and happy with it

*2025-12-25, version 1.3.9*

Im sure the app will improve with frequent updates and time but I can confidently say I’m very much enjoying it. I remember seeing the kickstarter for this app I was so happy to see how much was raised for this to exist. I love how gamified it is with attack moves and guarding its very unique first time Ive seen anything like it in language learning apps. I love the idea and execution behind the concept I hope to see this app succeed and grow into something similar to Duolingo perhaps even better im sure of it.

### 5/5 — fairly decent app that keeps my attention

*2025-12-07, version 1.3.9*

unlike other apps that are monotonous with the vocabulary this app teaches you about sentence structure and the culture behind the language. also saw there’s a specific section where you can practice speaking with foreigners in your language soo that’s always a plus! i’m really looking forward to whatever else they have in store for this app i remember when the creator was talking about this app and to see it finally come out, let me just say im excited for him to see him pursuing his dreams ik he put a lot of effort into it and I’m here to support!

### 5/5 — Support

*2025-10-13, version 1.3.9*

Need more people and supporters for this app definitely a great competitor

### 5/5 — Review

*2025-09-26, version 1.3.9*

Personally I enjoy this it helps me learn especially the way finder which is very useful. Hopefully there will be more languages and hopefully Russian will be on the full version. There’s lots of potential still needs some improvements etc but so far personally it helps me learn. Keep going I’ve heard lots of criticism but keep trying and learn from them and there will be major improvements.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-09-24, version 1.3.9*

This is the first and probably only app review I’ll ever write, but I absolutely love this app!! I am learning French, and it has taught me way more than any other language apps have. It’s a good mix between games and learning the nitty gritty bits of a language. I also like that they start out with emphasizing pronunciation and hearing the differences between nasal vowels and regular vowels. This app is still in the works, and it sure isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good and I can see the potential it has! I can’t wait to see how it grows and changes as it goes on!

### 5/5 — Best language learning app

*2025-07-02, version 1.3.9*

Before I started using this app I was using Duolingo. Back then learning languages was more of a task then a hobby but ever since I started using fluyo I found learning Korean more enjoyable.

### 5/5 — Love where it’s going

*2025-04-24, version 1.2.7*

Fluyo is a great app especially when learning something new! I love how interactive it is and I can see how it’s trying to build a community of language learners! Every now and then the ui can be a little confusing but I can’t wait to see where it’s going. Been following ikenna for a while and I hope everyone can see the vision slowly but surely coming into fruition!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-04-21, version 1.2.6*

Fun and great articulation by the voice actor. I’m coming for your spot, as best language learner app!
