For an American company there is a lot of foreign text throughout which can be a little confusing and concerning where the software is developed. Only 20 reviews in 2 years is not a great feedback rate either ### 5/5 — Control *2023-05-29* I don’t have any problems getting it started or anything you just have to make sure the battery is completely charged. Otherwise you will lose control of the drone or you know you won’t be able to manipulate it all in all. It works great for me. I spend more time trying to get them all to ‘talk’ to each other than actually flying the drone b ### 4/5 — App needs to accommodate iPhone 14 Pro dynamic island *2023-02-14* The application works well for the most part…one thing I feel should be standard is the the camera should default to HD rather than SD! It’s a minor thing but I often times forget to change to HD right away. The biggest issue is the app does not take into account of the new iPhone 14 Pro models that have a full screen with the exception of the little area by the ear piece. This feature is called Dynamic Island and this makes for using the app difficult on the left side of the screen because the buttons are cut off! Please look into this for a better user interface! The app is versatile and functional (here’s that “but”) but it could be improved upon. I would like to use the full screen display on my iPad, because, for me, that’s kinda the point of using the iPad vs the iPhone. Another enhancement I recommend is having an option to use satellite view on the map. If I’m setting waypoints I obviously don’t want to inadvertently put one that puts a tree in my path. And, yes, that has happened to me, although with a different drone. That was embarrassing, because I was showing off to a friend, and potentially fatal to the drone, which did crash. Other than this two features I wouldn’t change a thing. ### 1/5 — Third attempt to write this review! *2022-10-28* I am not a happy user of the Ranger X7. I have tried twice today to explain why and before I get finished my text just goes away! I have had this drone since March 2022. I have had only about seven successful flights. The unit will not connect to/stay connected to the phone wifi. Contacted support who gave me a procedure to perform. I did. It did not resolve the problem. Informed them of the results and I get no response. Just cricket noise.!!! Let me send this before it “goes away.” ### 1/5 — Pathetic knockoff drone with terrible app *2022-01-17* This drone has been a SEVERE disappointment and the app software is as well. I was shocked at the poor performance for how much I paid for this exo ranger drone so I started doing research to see what others had experienced and low and behold I found out that this “exo ranger drone” may look exactly the same as some more expensive units…..but doesn’t have the same quality and performance as those. Soon yeah I guess shame on me for trying to save some money cause there’s clearly a reason as to why this one is less expensive and I’m payin the ultimate price for it now everytime it loses connection when only 50ft away or the buttons in the app don’t respond and then just crashes leaving the drone just freely flying in whatever direction it was going in and if it goes behind a tree or even a skimpy bush it’s anyone’s guess if the remote is going to lose ability to control the drone’s direction. I can’t believe the signal communication btween the drone and remote is THAT WEAK that that happens. Plus it’s supposed to come back home automatically when losing connection….but it never does! I’m glad about that though because I would never trust it flying on its own given m the pathetic performance of this unit and the app in general. Poor job guys. It can be used as a solo device or in conjunction with the drone’s remote. The advantage is the camera controls on the app are supported to those on the controller. We, my wife and I, have not tried all of the functions yet, but we’re working on it. We are currently in the process of testing the limits of the app as compared to the drone’s remote. So far, so good, but I’m not sure of the distance the app can maintain connection compared to the remote in different areas (city parks, beach, mountains, etc). The features look good, but the instructions are for garbage. The user is reliant on trail-and-error more often than the limited instructions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - does what it should, reasonably, but doesn’t go above and beyond.
