Most disappointing is the extreme lack of control of each effect. You’re met with something between one to eight presets essentially- no parameters other than noise amount and mix - which is not independent per effect. Even the tape warble is done better in free apps. Saying the warble is the best effect is disappointing because it’s pretty light and limited. 7 warp/wobble options and they don’t go deep like a real damaged tape. Lofi sounds rather ‘hi pass’. Reverse… ya it reverses The rest aren’t even worth saying anything. Why 3 stars? I don’t know. I’m generous. 1 because it works. 2 because it looks nice. 3 because…. Beats me ### 4/5 — Absolutely incredible *2021-05-10* This thing is a powerhouse. If you are looking for mobile 404-style FX look no further. Dropped a star because in my opinion this should have just been an update to the first Flytape, all these features should have been available from the get go. But that’s just my 2 cents and none of that takes away from how fantastic this app actually is, definitely will recommend to others ### 4/5 — Better than the original *2021-04-15* It’s good for applying tape degradation. Has more options than the original. It’s worth it if you like the original Fly Tape. This is a good plug-in if you like the MSXII sample pack sound quality and want to reproduce that yourself quickly. I think it only works with a u m because I have no idea how to use it on GarageBand. I’m trying to get a refund but the purchase is still pending and I bought it yesterday. Instructions when opening the app say to visit the manual. When clicking the link it brings you to a page that “No longer exists” - Looking for refund ### 1/5 — False advertisement *2024-06-19* Not compatible with beatmaker3 ### 1/5 — It’s bad, it’s really really bad *2022-11-19* It’s a preset surfer with a poor choice of presets. No part of the app is usable. This is not a critique. It’s meant as a warning for possible buyers. Even free you shouldn’t download it. The audio quality is bad. The saturation adds a bunch of volume so you can’t just turn it on and off while playing. Also the presets are all too aggressive and oftentimes don’t add any feeling of tape to your audio. I wanted to write to you first before writing on here. However, when clicking through I am greeted by an ‘Ooops, page not found’. Warble touch automations are not always played ( intermittently) and do not render at all in mixdown, in my experience. ### 3/5 — Great app, but… *2021-10-26* Hold and OPs we have selected are not included in save state??? When I stop the DAW or AUM the FlyTape doesn‘t stop? It should and jump back in accurately on point, IMHO… Another one I have found, is happening with the buffer being not reset correctly. For Instance: When I‘m in Stutter Hold mode and go to 1/64th and wanna go lower to 1/8th again it doesn‘t do it. I need to „reset“ the buffer manually, which is sad. It would be a plus if the developers could add even more effects than what it have. For people that like that SP-404 type of fx this would be good but not enough to satisfy your needs.
