As a recreational Pilot, it does everything you need and in the days of sophisticated GPS based navigation apps, it is very handy to have a device that you can use to quickly calculate any one of numerous different scenarios. I recently downloaded this app and I am very impressed with its functions. It has all of the tools and calculations you could use for any pilot. The layout is very user friendly. Great for iPhone or iPad !!! ### 5/5 — Fantastic FlyBy E6B *2015-04-11, version 2.63* This is my second review of this app and I feel even stronger about it then when I first purchased it in 2011. FlyBy E6B is simply the best aviation app on my iPhone and iPad. Even with all the technology available to me as an airline pilot I still turn to it on a daily basis calculate descents, temperature corrections, male and female breakdown calculations, various conversions, wind components, runway friction numbers, fuel times for holds and I even use it to add up the log book at the end of the day. It is deceptively simple and easy to use. With the ability to save my most used calculations and features to the favorites page there is no need to hunt for the features that I use most because it is all on one app and in one place. In my experience the developer is very open to new ideas. I have made a couple of requests over the years and have found them added to later updates so it has consistently gotten even better over time. This app is well done and immensely useful. A glider with a stall speed of 40 mph circling in a thermal at a 60 degree angle does so at 2 G's. To calculate the stall speed at this angle one must take the square root of 2, which is 1.4, and multiply that number by the published level stall speed of 40 which would make the new stall speed 56 mph and not 80 mph as the calculator indicates. Also, could you add a simple calculator function to this calculator? ### 3/5 — METAR and TAF *2016-08-24, version 2.73* METAR and TAF is no longer available? What gives? It’s intuitive and very well laid out. I have been using this app for over 15 years and it just keeps getting better and better. The developer keeps upgrading and adding features on a regular basis.
