Can’t register on waydoo app, “verify code error”

I was not given the option to upgrade, only “read data”. I clicked on read data and now it’s been stuck reading data for like an hour, but it also says not to close the app while reading data. What will happen if I do? How long will this take and why was I only given that option, verses the option to “upgrade”
