It made categorizing expenses, really smooth and easy, especially with the way that it was able to intelligently group my expenses together so that I could bulk categorize the CPA that I was working with was excellent. The cost was better than what I have had to deal with in past years so no major complaints there. I could’ve used more clarity around the fact that the standard paid account does not include partnership type LLCs. It’s not that it was hidden information. It just wasn’t extremely obvious and so I ended up getting hit by an extra expense that I wasn’t expecting. But overall, I think my biggest complaint is with the UX and the way that it makes it difficult to navigate to which documents you have or haven’t uploaded which expenses have or haven’t been submitted. It’s tough to find my way around, and I found myself largely dependent on the messaging system with the CPA to help me locate the correct places in the app to do the work that needed to be done. ### 5/5 — Excellent experience *2026-03-11, version 1.93.0* I own a small private healthcare practice and FlyFin makes taxes so easy! I’ve been using Flyfin for two years, and 2026 is the first time I’ve EVER filed before mid-March, for a MUCH lower cost than I ever paid a tax preparer in the past, and with the confidence thanks to Flyfin’s CPA. My CPA sends me concise, easy to understand questions when something is unclear, and responds to my questions within a day. For me it’s the perfect combination of AI and human service. This app makes it so easy to track my income, deductions, and anything else relating to my taxes as well as photos of my receipts. I filed jointly this year and was nervous about the change but this app made it so simple. I recommend it to people regularly, whether you have your own business or not. But after using them for one season I’m looking for someone else. I don’t trust they really find all available deductions or advise very well. Their recommendations for quarterly payments wasn’t accurate and I felt left in the dark regarding how much and how to pay. In the end you get what you pay for and it will work for some but we won’t be going back. ### 5/5 — Even easier than pie! *2025-08-18* I found out about FlyFin from a tech host in my local radio station. I was nervous at first because it seemed too good to be true. I figured a tech host has to be trustworthy. I was right. FlyFin saved me many hours of gathering paperwork and trying to figure out confusing tax rules! I tried leading text service and had a terrible experience. I really love that a CPA is available to answer any questions I have. They responded very quickly to my questions and are extremely knowledgeable. The other service used bookkeepers (nothing against bookkeepers) and couldn’t answer all my questions. I felt alone when trying to get my taxes done. Tried on 2 different devices. No real way to get in touch to get it fixed. Kind of a waist of $200. :/ ### 1/5 — Potential Scam? *2025-04-16, version 1.93.0* I paid $350 for a CPA to file my taxes. I paid for this service since it was tax day (yesterday) and now my taxes are late and nobody is responding to me on the status of my tax forms. It is also suspicious because I see from multiple reviews that the only actual CPA mentioned is “Varsha” and she is the one I have too. Either they have only one CPA filing everyone’s taxes or somebody besides Varsha is looking at my personal info. ### 1/5 — 1/5 *2025-04-11* If you wanna have something on your phone for your deductions, that's great. I tried to switch CPAs and they refused. I asked over three times and they refused if I felt uncomfortable with the person it didn't matter I was stuck with her no matter how many times I asked to switch it's over $300 for the service and if you feel uncomfortable and want to switch your CPA, they will not allow you to. You're better off going somewhere else. I tried to have a meeting with my CPA and it was somebody else. I didn't know that it wasn't gonna be her. They claim it was a member of her team, but nobody informed me prior that I would be meeting with somebody else. My financials is a personal situation and I shouldn't have randomly had somebody else there without knowing. I felt uncomfortable and I request to change and they don't care. It's my money and I don't have to pay $300 for something if I feel uncomfortable. It takes a lot to speak up that you're uncomfortable so to be met with challenges instead of being heard and listen to is not a kind of app I want to recommend I'm posting this review because after my third and final time asking to switch, they told me no again. I don't want anybody else to spend their money on this app to you uncomfortable. $300 is not worth it. Go to TurboTax. . I keep telling them im uncomfortable and they don't care. I literally had a meeting with somebody. Who wasn't my CPA literally a random name. Nobody ever told me that she was a part of the team. It was just weird and suspicious. the woman had an accent. She wasn't even taking notes. There was another person in that meeting who is her notetaker. So one meeting with two people I don't know. The whole thing was weird and suspicious.. and then to be met with I'm stuck with the person I feel uncomfortable with. I told the CPA herself that I feel uncomfortable and nobody cares. Nobody wants to help me. Please do not waste your money. ### 1/5 — Poor Service and UX *2025-03-24, version 1.91.0* I’ve been using FlyFin for about a year and can’t wait to stop. They missed several key details on my taxes for my S Corp and Schedule C, and take forever to respond while sending you emails asking you to sign a tax return you’ve already told them was inaccurate. The app is not built for anyone with more than one source of independent business, they don’t inform you of key details about your returns (like the amount of refund, credit to next year, or source of penalties). I was subject to a penalty because of their inaccurate estimation of my quarterly taxes. I encourage anyone to not waste their money and go elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Aggravating Unethical Business Marketing *2025-03-06, version 1.90.3* U sent an email and we did the survey just to get lead to download the app from apple store!! Then to find out that I Have to do it all again from the start- all the questions and my time wasted!! So i didn't continue and now I deleted my account. FakeFin ### 1/5 — Confusing and a waste *2025-02-14, version 1.90.2* Even though I have tried for two months to work with this app and the CPA’s cause I paid top dollar I still can’t figure out my 2024 taxes, which should be fairly simple to figure out. I now have to go to accounting because it’s all screwed up. You can’t view your 1099 unless you submit a pdf of your bank statements or connect your stripe account so A.I can “estimate” what your deductions would be. There’s no bypassing it even on a desktop platform. Which makes the whole app irrelevant if you don’t use stripe for business. Even if you manually submit your own deduction amount and qualifications, they still want access to your info. A.I. only improves when their info pool grows, so early users are the collateral guinea pigs. But regardless of your stance on AI dependability and safety, the app is not for 99.9% of business owners. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-01-10, version 1.87.0* Claims there is a 7 day free trial. I entered all my information which took over 2 hours for my LLC. At the end the app required payment even though I was still in day 1 of my trial. Not a true 7 day free trial. Do not recommend. FlyFin has completely automated the process. It's accurate, easy to navigate, and takes the stress right out of tax season. My old method of a spreadsheet and an independent cpa was mind numbing and expensive. Even worse when some of my income shifted to content creation on the blue heart app- my account in NJ suddenly started clutching pearls and I wound up owing money to the IRS as he miscalculated my taxes. I paid him a lot more than I paid FlyFin with their premium package and it’s so easy to calculate my expenses in the app. I had tried keeper last year but just like this set up a lot more. It’s really simple and really cool. It’s literally tied into my checking account. I make sure to use my debit card for all expenses. You can upload your receipts also and attached them to every single expense. It cannot connect to your Cash app, and things of that nature because those entities are not a banking institution so remember that though. I actually uploaded a receipt. I had a question about it and it was a deduction and the CPA answers within 24 hours.
