It’s much easier to use overall and I appreciate the constant improvements. Makes planning easy at the moment you decide you want to go so you can spend more time flying and less time playing with an app. I unfortunately will never be a professional pilot. I hope they add a weight balance feature soon as I’m using a different app. Keep supporting them as I like having the choice to not use Foreflight! ### 5/5 — Enjoying Since Inception *2026-04-18, version 7.1.1* I am so happy fellow flight instructor introduced me to FlyQ as I had been using another. IPAD was huge improvement. I liked the idea of having just 2 keystrokes which is very important when in turbulence! I fly 2 aircraft in both the Northwest and the Southwest and IPAD portability is a big savings and frequent updates are important especially for frequency changes. Also to quickly calculate time and distance to next waypoint is invaluable. I’ve always received quick and accurate responses and have been able to get others signed up. ### 5/5 — Excellent app *2026-03-18, version 7.1.1* I’ve been using this app for several years. It is intuitive and has performed very well. I fly with friends who are using Foreflight at the same time I'm using FlyQ. (side by side..same flight) I think I find things faster that they do. I also seem to think I find Traffic on my iPad before they do. And the price differance between FlyQ and Foreflight, for a CFI, is crazy. FlyQ is a lot less expensive. ### 4/5 — I’m moving over from ForeFlight *2026-03-01, version 7.1.1* Writing is on the wall for ForeFlight (Being taken over by private equity is never good for end users). Even though FF was overkill for my flying now, I’d been reluctant to move away because I had untold hours of “sunk costs” in time learning & mastering the app. However, FlyQ+ is the clear winner after three weeks testing all the alternatives. There are quirks to FlyQ, but once I spend the winter running lots of practice flights, I’m sure it will become as intuitive as FF & at a fraction of the cost. ### 5/5 — FlyQ is my long term Favorite *2026-02-11, version 7.1.1* I have been an active user of FlyQ since they started years ago. They have gone through many upgrades to add features and improve reliability. Some good some not so good. I started using flyq about 12 years ago. For safety and easy of use i have continued use flyq. Cross country planning and winds aloft super simple. There are alot of great things in flyq. But this is the app i have experience using. That is the true form of bait and switch. Bought a lifetime membership so I stuck with it despite numerous reliability problems and safety concerns, especially during IFR flights. Slow to respond to problems. Now they have decided to charge lifetime subscribers and void the lifetime subscription. I will not be using flyq nor do I think anyone should waste their time or compromise the safety using it. ### 1/5 — Bad app, worse company. Stay away *2025-07-03, version 7.1.1* App is extremely buggy, and a very poor value at $200 per year for ifr and vfr, available at half the cost from ForeFlight and for free from AvareX or FltPlan go - all vastly superior to buggy and perpetually broken flyq. With that said, the sorry excuse of an app is actually good compared to the business ethics of Seattle avionics who makes it. Google flyq lifetime subscription and see how they ripped of customers who had paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars for lifetime subscription, and didn’t back down until a class action lawsuit started to form. Several years ago, I purchased a “lifetime subscription” from this company for $400. I assume that as a small startup company trying to compete with ForeFlight that they needed an influx of cash. When I laid down the $$$, I did so with the realization that the company could potentially fail and I would lose my money - a gamble that I was willing to take. The company is now under new management, and have announced THEY ARE TERMINATING ALL LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION! I will not begin paying this unethical company for a yearly subscription, and will be switching to ForeFlight. ### 1/5 — App is buggy, crashes *2025-04-30, version 7.1.1* I have been a FlyQ user since its early days, and stuck with it, despite it always being behind ForeFlight in terms of features, because they offered lifetime chart data early on. They are now withholding new features from lifetime subscribers, as a way to force them into an annual subscription. I would consider it, it the application is just too unstable. It crashes randomly, when you do some things like edit a flight plan. It also has little annoyances, like getting departure time off by 1 min from what you select. I will take my future annual subscription revenue to the much better product, ForeFlight. ### 1/5 — Lifetime subscription…Nope! *2025-03-16, version 7.1.1* I purchased the “lifetime “ subscription as they advertised it as never needing to pay for a subscription again. Well, this crooked company flat out lied and reneged on the subscription, now requiring a yearly subscription to get all of the “new features”. Purchase Foreflight or another EFB instead…Some would call this company unscrupulous. I’d call them crooks. ### 1/5 — Horrible business practices *2025-01-05, version 7.1.0* Their greed knows no bounds. "Lifetime" subscriptions apparently do have a life on them. Their bait-and-switch to so many customers stinks of fraud. I have been assured by the Washington Attorney General's office of an active investigation into the acts by APG. Stay away from this company. FlyQ is another great app I use. ### 5/5 — Terrific Functionality *2026-08-25, version 7.1.1* I can’t tell you all the ways I dig Fly-Q because there are too many, but here are the features I like best. I have used this service for years to flight instruct in some very busy airspace. I use this with a Merlin ADB-B device I bought from them, and it is excellent for keeping me clear of conflicts while maneuvering in very busy practice areas. It helps me gain visual contact with aircraft quicker than without, and it is handy for obtaining weather information en route. It’s great for flight planning and filing. The scratch pad is wonderful for jotting down an ATIS, IFR clearance, taxi instructions, and assigned vectors. I love the AR photo feature that’ll overlay airport and other information on your pics. There is a learning curve, but they have several videos one YouTube to help with that. I even use the documents feature to store electronic copies of all my manuals, maps, POH, and other operational information. Learning or teaching to fly? Ask them about their amazing discount on their service. I give this both this app and Seattle Avionics *****. I’ve used it over 10 years now. It is very capable when you want it to be, but easy to work for the average IFR pilot. Best of all you can work with it with one finger vs both hands for other comparable apps. ### 5/5 — Backup EFB *2026-08-04, version 7.1.1* This app is an outstanding backup to my Fore flight app. I use it a lot as an instructor to keep clutter to a minimum.
