## What is FlyTalkie?

Talk nearby, text with fallback — no accounts or tracking.

FlyTalkie turns your iPhone into a walkie-talkie that needs no internet, no cell signal, and no Wi-Fi network — your phones connect directly to each other using Apple's built-in device-to-device wireless (Wi-Fi Aware). Talk with a nearby paired device on flights, camping trips, festivals, or other places without signal.

How it works:
1. Open FlyTalkie on both devices
2. Pair using the built-in device picker
3. Start chatting or call — that's it

Voice Calls
Real-time voice audio travels directly between your phones and is never relayed. A short-lived internet wake can ring a backgrounded contact, but the call itself requires a nearby device-to-device link. Established calls keep running when you switch apps or lock your screen. Mute, see audio levels, and track call duration in real time.

Text Messaging
Send text over local wireless when possible. If direct delivery is unavailable or remains unacknowledged, an end-to-end encrypted mailbox can hold a pending copy for up to seven days. Photos and files require the nearby direct connection.

Find Your Group (Radar)
Lost each other at a festival or on a trail? Optionally share your live location with a contact you choose and see their distance and direction in an Apple Maps view. Location sharing is off by default and per contact. Each beacon is end-to-end encrypted for that contact; nearby delivery is direct, and a manual beacon is also submitted to the encrypted internet mailbox for background or non-proximate delivery when the relay is configured. Apple receives the map-region request under its own terms when the map is displayed.

Games for the Trip
Nine games, no internet needed. Eight turn-based games support head-to-head play with a nearby friend or solo play against the computer. Overrun is a solo runner race with power-ups and changing landscapes. Tic-Tac-Toe, Hangman, and Connect Four are free. FlyTalkie Pro (one-time purchase) unlocks Chess, Backgammon, Planes, Checkers, Word Duel, and Overrun. Track your head-to-head record with Player Stats.

Works Offline
- No internet needed to talk to nearby contacts
- No accounts to create
- No phone numbers to share
- Voice audio stays on the nearby link; mailbox content is encrypted only for its chosen contact
- Works on flights, in basements, at festivals, in the wilderness

With internet access, pending text may use an end-to-end encrypted mailbox; manual Radar beacons are also submitted there for background or non-proximate delivery. Calls use a separate short-lived wake; voice audio is never relayed.

Privacy First
FlyTalkie has no accounts, advertising, analytics SDK, or tracking. The relay cannot decrypt mailbox content, but it processes device routing identifiers, push tokens, delivery metadata, encrypted payloads, and expiry timestamps. Call wakes also process the caller display name and call/session identifiers. The App Privacy label discloses the data retained for app functionality.
