Thank you. I needed a replacement for a very popular option that wouldn’t let me use my fire maps anymore without a ludicrous price. I’m going to tell more firefighters they don’t need to get screwed over to do their jobs. Good work.

This is a very promising alternative to an app that shall not be named. The UI takes some getting used to, but is still very well thought out. 

The collaboration features have incredible promise and I hope to get my contractors on FO Maps so we can try them out. 

This is a really good app that is 100% worth a shot. Have mercy on your soul, poor developer.

• Record where you go. FO Maps saves your route with the time and elevation of every point.
• Take photos with a note along the way — they stay pinned to the exact spot where you took them.
• Play the route back. The camera follows it at the real speed you walked and pauses at every photo, showing speed, elevation, ascent and an elevation profile.
• Export it as a vertical video, ready to share. Free on every plan.

Also:
• Generate a GeoPDF from the app: pick the area, paper size and scale. It opens with coordinates in QGIS, ArcGIS or Avenza.
• Export any shape as KML, KMZ or GPX, with times and elevation.
• Import full KMZ files: they come back with their photos, times and elevation.
• Discover: maps from organizations can now include a route you can play.

• When searching for a coordinate, the panel showed the text vertically, one character per line.
