## What is Focal Three Plans?

Some plans are too big for a task list. A building. A move. A business you have been sketching for a year. They need a number, and the number needs a reason.

Focal Three Plans is where that kind of plan lives. You write it, you price it, and you keep the reasoning next to the figures — so a number you wrote three months ago can still be argued with.

ONLY IF YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND

Anything you have not decided becomes an option with a cost of its own. Turn it on and the total moves. Mark a set of options as alternatives — three ways to heat the building, three ways to fund it — and choosing one puts the others away, so the total always means something.

Assign lines to phases and each phase totals on its own: what you build first, and what it costs to stop there.

THE WHOLE PLAN, NOT JUST THE SPREADSHEET

Renders and drawings open full size. Documents — PDFs, spreadsheets, contracts — preview in place. Reference links keep the source of every figure. An interactive model or a concept page can be attached and opened inside the app. Sections are yours to name and reorder: overview, design criteria, open questions, whatever the plan actually needs.

Variations let you carry two genuinely different schemes side by side, each with its own budget, rather than overwriting the one you might want back.

YOUR FILES, IN YOUR OWN REPOSITORY

A plan is plain text and images in a git repository you own. Every edit is a commit with a message, so the history reads as a record of decisions rather than a list of saves. Sync is between your own devices through your own repository. There is no account to make and no server of ours holding your work, because there is no server of ours.

WORK WITH AN ASSISTANT, IF YOU WANT TO

On the Mac, Focal Three Plans can hand a plan to a coding assistant running on the same machine — reading your notes and folding them into the right section, pricing a scope, writing up how a figure was reached. It connects over your own computer only, never the internet, and you review everything it did as ordinary commits.

This is optional. The app is complete without it.
