### 4/5 — Good work

*2021-05-07, version 1.1.3*

Overall I like the functionality of the app and the ability to use computer and iPad interchangeably. It would be great if the app would allow users to see videos stored on a NAS when the NAS is loaded in Files. I can see the NAS on the app and I can select a folder using this app, but the videos do not load. It would also be interesting if this app could detect other significant events outside those signalled by sentry mode (e.g. people approaching vehicle). But great work!

### 5/5 — Revised Review from Dec 29 2020

*2021-01-23, version 2.1*

Great app! After my initial review, the developer responded promtly offering assistance. While pulling additional files to troubleshoot, I determined the problem was isolated to Sentry files captured in Tesla software version 2020.48.26 (validated on two different vehicles). App works flawlessly on 2020.48.30 and 2020.48.35.5. Thank you Boundry Labs.

### 5/5 — Great software

*2020-12-27, version 2.1*

Works very smooth, easy to use and can go through events quickly. Plenty of functionality. I really like the tie in with the calendar and location. Only thing I noticed I would change is the ability to delete the current file by hitting the delete key but clicking the trash icon is fine.

Running on the new mac M1 processor seems pretty dang quick.

### 5/5 — Excellent update to very useful Tesla dashcam/Sentry video viewer

*2020-07-31, version 2.0*

After emailng the developer, he fixed my previous issue and then some. Combined with my "modified" Roadie and a custom Python daemon I wrote to automatically fetch videos whenever the Roadie is connected to my home WiFi, this is an awesome way to review videos without needing to deal with Tesla's nice but limited in-car viewer or the less efficient UI with the Roadie app.

I had written some AppleScript scripts to try to make ripping through hundreds of videos faster, and this app is basically what I had in mind when I started on that unfinished endeavor. When it works, it's absolutely fantastic. I do find that it has a few bugs yet... pausing the video and then resuming doesn't actually resume the video until you fiddle with the progress bar, and it gets really confused with corrupted videos that unfortunately Tesla still writes out.

Very happy with the app, though. These glitches are minor and probably easy to resolve.

### 4/5 — Flickering and wrong camera views

*2020-07-08, version 1.8*

Update: Working with developer to try to identify the issue and see if it can be fixed. They have been very responsive.
__

When watching playback and the images shown for each camera keep flashing around, showing front for left/right or showing the same since feed twice. Lots of corruption and visual artifacts.

These problems do not exist in the source video files when viewed directly from the flash drive via QuickTime player.

2017 MCU1 Model S with AP3 computer.

### 5/5 — perfect

*2020-06-13, version 1.8*

exactly what one needs. strong work on this.

### 4/5 — Very Useful Functionality for Video Review and Stable

*2020-03-14, version 1.7*

Thank you for a really useful app, I was able to go through a month's sentry and saved videos in about 10 minutes which was great.

Thank also for continuing to add features.

Could I make a few suggestions
- The video swipe bar is great
  - Video control could be a little closer to MacOS default (see Quicktime Browser)
  - Allow arrows to move/jump back-and-forth in timeline etc like QT
- Click and drag to select a range (rather than click and click again)
- Add keyboard shortcuts to quickly set the speed of playback at say x1, x2, x5 and x10
- Keyboard shortcut to jump to the time of the Sentry trigger event
- Option to not require confirmation on deleting file
- Icons are a little small, especially given they are down at the bottom of screen. Easy to overlook.

### 4/5 — Overall very good

*2020-03-05, version 1.7*

I've only tried this TeslaCam app, so I can't compare to others on the ap store. For the $6.99, it's easily worth the value of a comprehensive view of all cameras, rather than opening individual files in the Finder. Also, the convenience of a UI app was worth it to me versus opensource GitHub command-line options. Feedback: 1) When exporting video for review by a police department, add a text overlay of the current timestamp. 2) The app crashed once on me in the 20 minutes I've been using it. 3) Exporting a single combined video that's 18 minutes in length is taking a loooong time (running at least 10 minutes). This is on a 2019 16" MacBook Pro, with TeslaCam footage coming from a Samsung T5 SSD.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2020-02-01, version 1.6*

would be nice to have multi-select delete. Thank you! This is worth the $6.99 for sure!

### 5/5 — Excellent TeslaCam viewer

*2020-01-16, version 1.6*

This is a great TeslaCam viewer and it's improving rapidly with new functionality and updates.
This currently works better than the other viewer I bought as it happily recognised a TeslaCam folder in iCloud (where I keep my archive).

When exporting the composite video it does crop them a bit, would like to have a full frame option.

### 4/5 — Ok getting better!

*2020-01-12, version 1.6*

my last review said it was a bit fiddly navigating with curson - glad to say that latest release is A LOT BETTER.

feature request:
- a quick "jump to alart point" in clip.
- export as timelapse
- Bulk deletes could also be made easier
- Sometimes take time to load clips in full (but this could be my Mac)
- delay playing when x10 speed as glitchy, maybe needs clips to load in full first.
- Compilation of incident clips for fast review

### 4/5 — Simple to use interface, better than others by far.

*2019-12-30, version 1.5*

This is a fair price for this app - hopefully they keep upgrading the features its and fix small little bugs. I would have paid double if it means this app keeps up to date with bugs and UI improvments.

Very easy to use and the clip selection to export just a portion is great. You can scrub through tons of video quickly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very Buggy

*2020-11-21, version 2.1*

If you love being frustrated, Like the apple spinning beach ball and just love waisting money then this is the perfect app for you.
Videos from TeslaCam just stop and the spinning beach ball appears. Try to move on in the timeline and the whole program becomes un-responsive. Other TeslaCAm programs I have tried have no problem playing videos.

### 1/5 — Can’t access any videos

*2020-11-15, version 1.0.1*

Can’t access any videos on my newly formatted SANDISK 64gb flash drive or Samsung SSD drive on my iPhone iOS 14.2

### 1/5 — Non-Functional

*2020-01-18, version 1.6*

First time I opened it, it froze on "Select TeslaCam Folder". After force quitting and trying to open again, it just bounces in the dock indefinitely.

### 2/5 — Crashes constantly

*2025-04-05, version 2.7*

The features and behavior of the app are all pretty nice, but every time it needs to transcode it crashes. This is made worse by the fact it doesn’t remember where your cam drive is, and you have to manually browse to it every time. Unfortunately this makes it hard to recommend.

### 2/5 — Unstable

*2022-08-14, version 1.1.3*

Core Functionality is there: View and scrub videos.

Sharing clips and deleting events often leads to app crashes on iPhone and iPad. Developer should seriously do more testing here.

The iPhone app does not offer ability to merge clips and will only export the individual 1 minute long clips.

### 2/5 — Love the concept, poor execution

*2019-10-31, version 1.4*

I mean, I really love the concept and was pretty excited to use it, but it is not working for me.
1. Not all my videos are imported. Some are missing, even if i select all the sentry, saved, and recent tabs
2. it is not possible to to select another folder. i have to close the app to select a new folder
3. the scrubbing is buggy
4. video playback is slow and choppy
5. I wish there was a trial version.

### 3/5 — Error on video export

*2021-07-28, version 2.2.2*

Cannot export video. Export fails with "cannot decode" error. Also app doesn't show all events, some of them are existing in the TeslaCam folder and ignored without reason

### 3/5 — Good concept, but unreliable app (updated after developer response)

*2019-11-02*

Functionality as shown looks good, but I've experienced multiple crashes in my first session trying to use this app.

Pulling footage from a Samsung 850 Pro SSD to a Mac Pro 2013, so speed or processing power should not be an issue.

Some user interface buttons could be labelled more clearly. No obvious Play/Pause/Rewind/FFWD buttons. Space bar doesn't appear to pause playback as in most media apps.

Inconsistent behaviour of the scrub tool and no way of seeing what speed multiplier you're currently looking at, just a scale from x1 to x10.

Update 2 November 2019: response from the developer of this app to my review is appreciated and I’ve added a star to my rating in anticipation of the upcoming changes. I’ll be sending a crash log if I can find one to help with the bug fixing.

### 4/5 — Really nice App but lacks one feature

*2024-12-21, version 2.7*

Playback is smooth and really good UI. Very nice keyboard shortcuts. The feature that you need to add is the ability to switch the left and right camera location. I really don’t like how it’s flipped. Please add this feature as soon as possible.

### 4/5 — it's a very good tesla cam viewer but isn't a good video editor

*2021-09-05, version 2.3*

easy to navigate through all videos and make you can do almost everything ever thought.
but video export function is unusable with 'cannot decode' error.
it's hard to belive that every videos recorded by my car is corrupted.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great viewer for files on NAS

*2024-06-30, version 2.5.3*

About every 2 months, I pull my TeslaCam drive from my car and back it up to my home NAS. This app works smoothly with that drive and the ability to navigate all the video in a calendar view is top-notch. No issues. If I had one wish it would be for searchable text notes attached to each video.

### 5/5 — A great way to quickly review and save Tesla dashcam footage

*2023-10-16, version 1.2*

This app helps reign in unwieldy Tesla Dashcam files in an easy to view way. Tesla breaks down the recordings per camera and in ~1 minute segment, meaning any Dashcam event is split into dozens or hundreds of different files. You *can* still view these files in a standard file browser, but this app makes it much more usable.

### 5/5 — It did what it said

*2023-10-06, version 2.5.3*

Not sure what else I could ask for lol

### 5/5 — great app

*2023-03-22, version 2.5.3*

Nice and speedy. Shows all the things I need

### 5/5 — Simultaneous multi-cam

*2023-01-29, version 2.5.3*

Best app for viewing Tesla cameras all synced simultaneously. Speed up videos, skim through sections, jump to where proximity sensor was activated.

### 5/5 — Best Option so far

*2023-01-15, version 2.5.3*

Best app for this purpose on the Mac apps store I've found so far.

The videos are easy enough to scrub through, the events are shown on the timeline, I can delete & export videos easily, and I can even see the GPS coordinates where the recording was taken. All of it actually WORKS, which is surprisingly rare.

The UI is functional

### 5/5 — Best App

*2022-12-17, version 2.5.3*

Simple to use, smooth video, and useful features. So far the best app to view and download Tesla video events.

### 5/5 — Old reviews?

*2022-10-10, version 1.1.3*

This is the best app that I have ever trusted enough to download so I am puzzled by the low rating. It is a bargain for the price and the developer keeps up with the comments and fixes whatever people have a problem with! THIS APP IS FANTASTIC!!

### 5/5 — Wonderful App!

*2022-06-10, version 2.5.1*

Helped me immensely to review my videos. Best dashcam app for Teslas. Full of features and easy to use tools for a review.

### 5/5 — Good App

*2021-10-22, version 2.4*

It does what it says!
