Needs an update for new iOS ### 3/5 — updating review— *2024-08-07, version 7.8* bug got fixed where i couldn’t log into my reddit account, so this went back to being usable. i’m happy with it, but there’s a feature keeping it from being a 5 star app: the reddit gifs don’t play within the app. i don’t know why but in some of the subs i follow, none of the gifs work within the app. i tested this with other 3rd party reddit apps and they don’t have the issue, only this one does. overall though other than this, it’s a pretty solid app ### 3/5 — Could be the best Reddit app on iOS *2024-03-07, version 7.5* Could be the best Reddit app on iOS except for the LONG UNSKIPPABLE ADS ### 1/5 — Buggy app *2023-11-17, version 7.3* Crashes repeatedly, cannot turn off multi column, can’t downvote from thumbnail, hiding comments is a joke! Cannot automatically go to reader mode. The browser icon and reader icon are on top of each other. Latest update broke comment collapse. No single column display making the content difficult to scroll through at a glance and content is crammed into a too small thumbnail to be useful. App switch? Popup ad. Open five links? Popup ad. Do you want to be inundated with messy illegitimate content? Then this is the app for you. The UI is the worst, image thumbnails are poorly displayed with related text missing. You can’t see your favorite content in a readable style. I finally switched to an older client that neatly displays everything but is missing a lot of features and I am so much happier because of it. I now see content I followed and haven’t seen in months because Focus handles it so badly. Also, I have this app installed on Mac, and it used to work great, but now it is always stuck in offline mode as of a couple weeks ago or so. Not sure how to fix. I really, really liked having this app on Mac because I could have widget for subreddits on my computer’s background. (Mac/iOS apps have cross compatibility, especially on iPad) I will update this review if some of these issues are fixed. Possibly a victim of further Reddit policy?
