## What is Focuser?

The personal management system that measures whether you actually showed up to what you said matters.

Most productivity apps treat your life like a to-do list. Focuser treats it like a practice.

Your career, health, relationships, finances, personal growth — they all need attention, and they all compete for the same hours. Focuser gives every priority a place, tracks your effort across all of them, and shows you — with real data — whether your days reflect your intentions.

Organize around what matters

Define the Focuses that make up your life. Each holds its own checklists, reminders, and recurring commitments. Your daily view is structured by time slot, so you see exactly what belongs in each part of your day — not just a flat list of tasks sorted by due date.

Primary Checklists cover every time horizon, organized into three zones: Immediate (Hourly, Today, Daily), Imminent (Tomorrow, Overmorrow, Weekly), and Periodic (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly). Non-recurring items migrate forward automatically as time passes. Secondary Checklists let you build deeper structures for projects, processes, and workflows, and their items can be assigned onto any Primary Checklist when it's time to act on them.

Recurring commitments, not just recurring tasks

Habits and responsibilities repeat. Focuser tracks your recurring items across every period and keeps an inventory of how often each one gets done, so you have the raw data on whether you're showing up to the things you said matter.

Measure your satisfaction

Focuser doesn't just count completions. Focus Metrics calculates a satisfaction score for each Focus based on the effort you put in relative to your opportunities, and an overall balance score across all Focuses. The dashboard shows how your satisfaction evolves over a day, a week, a month, or a year — broken down by Focus area so you can see where you're thriving and where you're drifting.

The balance ring gives you a single at-a-glance view of how evenly your effort is distributed. Effort distribution charts show exactly where your time went. AI-powered insights surface patterns in your data so you can see what's working and where you're drifting.

Your complete dashboard

Alongside your checklists, the dashboard gives you Stories for journaling in the moment, rich Notes for reference material, searchable by keyword or tag, and your Reminders organized into your own Reminder Checklists. Everything you need to run your day lives on one screen.

Chronicle your growth

The Journal collects every Story you've posted into a daily narrative, searchable forever. Activity logs record every meaningful action automatically — what you finished, what you moved, what you created — so you have a searchable history of your productivity without having to write it down.

Built for your rhythm

Configure your day start, day end, time slot interval, and clock type, to match how you actually work. Six themes including dark, light, and high contrast — with device-specific settings.

Syncs with the Focuser web app at lifefocuser.com. Everything you do in the mobile app shows up on the web and vice versa.

Your data, your record

Focuser is not a gamified habit tracker or a social accountability app. There are no streaks to protect, no leaderboards, no notifications designed to pull you back in. It is a personal record of how you spend your attention — a tool for people who take their priorities seriously and want to see the truth about where their effort goes.

Live with intention. Measure what matters. Grow on purpose.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-24

Focus Metrics

  • Drag across the satisfaction chart to read every focus at any point in
time — the date, each focus, and its score.
  • The chart now fits your screen. No more sliding sideways to find the
    rest of it.
  • Time frames with no history behind them are switched off rather than
    opening an empty chart.

  Reminders

  • The add button opens the full reminder form instead of a line in the
list, so everything is in front of you from the start.
  • Edit and delete controls sit beside a custom reminder checklist's title.
  • A reminder checklist can be converted into a regular checklist.
  • Reminder checklists take a new icon and a new title from their own form.
  • Only one action menu opens at a time, so a reminder's menu and a
checklist item's menu no longer sit open together.
  • The Google mark on synced reminders reads clearly against every theme.

  Journal

  • Images in your stories now display.

  Checklists

  • Reworked the checklist item form to match the web app, including time
slots that fill in from the slot you opened.
  • Checklist cards restructured, and selecting one is quicker to follow.

  Settings

  • Choose a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.
  • Set the tone of voice used in your notifications, and notifications now
    name what they are about.

  Faster

  • Signing in is quicker, and moving between Focuses and the Dashboard no
longer redraws work it already did.

  Fixes

  • Focus and other forms lay out correctly on every screen size.
  • Dropdowns, the month view's Last option, and reminder action menus all
    behave.
