## What is Foil Flashcards?

Foil is a flashcard app for long-term learning on iPhone. Create, import, and organize your own cards, then plan daily study and review with SM-2 or FSRS spaced-repetition scheduling.

Stay focused while you review
• Reveal the answer, then rate your recall with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy
• Put important cards into a priority queue for the current study session
• Work with rich text, hints, tags, review history, speech, and long-form cards

Bring your existing material
• Import APKG, COLPKG, UTF-8 CSV, and Foil backup files
• Preview, map, and validate content before it enters your library
• Maintain your collection with filters, batch actions, and similar-card detection

Prepare study material with AI prompts
• Choose a scenario in Foil and copy its prompt
• Generate structured CSV in an external AI tool
• Return to Foil to preview, import, and start reviewing

Local first, with data you control
• Keep studying from your local library without a network connection
• Sync decks, cards, review history, and tags through your private iCloud database
• Use automatic and manual backups, pre-restore snapshots, import/export, and trash recovery

The free version supports up to 50 active cards. A one-time Permanent Unlock removes the active-card limit permanently. No subscription.
