## What is FoKy?

Your notes become flashcards. Your phone goes quiet.

FoKy turns a topic, your notes or a PDF into a flashcard deck, then keeps your usual distractions shielded while you study it. Finish, and a collectible you actually want appears. AI decks are part of FoKy Pro, for adults 18+. The focus and study loop is free.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Generate a deck (FoKy Pro, 18+) or write your own cards.
2. Start a timed sprint: 10, 25, 45 or 60 minutes, with a deck or without one.
3. With your permission, FoKy uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to shield the apps you chose.
4. Focused minutes and correct answers fill your focus buddy until it reveals a collectible.

EARN APP TIME
Prefer to earn your scrolling? Turn on Earn app time and every correct flashcard banks minutes on your locked apps. A PIN guards the lock, so it works as a commitment to yourself or as an arrangement with someone you trust.

FREE, NOT A TRIAL
- Your own decks and cards, as many as you like
- Timed sprints with App Lock on every one
- Reveals, the full Collection, and every rarity
- Friend leaderboards with verified minutes

FOCUS+
My own layer on top of the free loop: schedules, multiple profiles, allowlists, Strict mode, custom sprint lengths from 10 to 120 minutes, your own Earn app time rate and questions, private cloud backup for your cards, 14-day insights, deck sharing with friends, and your buddy on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

FOKY PRO (ADULTS 18+)
Everything in focus+, plus AI study help: generate a deck from a topic, pasted notes or selected PDF pages, polish cards while you review the draft, and 50 AI credits a month with a visible balance. You edit every card before it saves, and a failed generation costs no credit.

WHAT WILL NEVER SHIP
No ads. No rewarded ads. Nothing you can buy that makes you stronger. No streak to lose, and no guilt notifications. No advertising SDK, no tracking prompt, and analytics stay off until you turn them on.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-11

FoKy now speaks Simplified Chinese
Switch in Settings ▸ Language. The whole app follows, and AI decks are written in the language you read in.

New: Earn app time
Start now offers two choices: Focus, with an optional deck, and Earn app time. Turn on Earn app time and every correct flashcard banks minutes on your locked apps. A PIN guards turning it off, so the deal holds until the PIN holder changes it. Correct answers also nudge your focus buddy toward its next reveal. focus+ lets you set the rate and write your own questions; FoKy Pro (18+) can write them for you.

Open to ages 13 and up
FoKy is now available from 13. AI features remain for adults 18+.

Other changes
- Strict mode: turning it off now needs your PIN.
- Your first display-name change is free; later changes cost 200 FoBy.
- Tutorials in Settings, kept up to date on foky.app.
- The weekly recap speaks your language.
- Switching accounts now clears the previous account's App Lock selections.
- Updated Privacy Notice and Terms of Use. You will be asked to review them.
