## What is Fold&Roll?

Fold&Roll runs your whole table from the phones already in everyone's pockets. Players get a living character sheet and one-tap dice. DMs get a battle map with fog of war, an encounter meter that does the math, and a full DM screen — no laptop, no binder, no server.

AT THE TABLE
• Devices join over your local network — no accounts, no sign-ups, nothing to configure
• Battle map with fog of war, size-aware tokens you move with a tap, and persistent spell zones (Moonbeam, Spirit Guardians, Wall of Fire…) that vanish when concentration breaks
• Made for the iPhone Duo and foldables: two-column layouts that unfold into a command center — table and map side by side
• Your map, your size: battle maps from a 16×12 skirmish to a 48×32 battlefield, with grid matching that aligns the grid to your own map art
• Quick Rolls: tap a weapon or spell and it fires — crits double the dice automatically
• DM Called Actions: call for initiative or a saving throw and watch the table answer, with live tallies
• Table chat with a players-only Party channel the DM never sees — plus secret rolls that stay secret
• Encounter difficulty meter (Trivial to Deadly) that reads the party's real levels and every monster's CR
• Ambience that follows the story: campaign → chapter → location, played out loud on the table display
• Optional Discord log: your session feed, rolls, and table chat posted to your own Discord channel

FOR PLAYERS
• Full character sheets with spellbook, concentration tracking, upcasting with live damage previews, rests, and level-ups
• A character dossier with room for backstory, campaign history, and variant sheets
• One-tap character randomizer when you need a hero right now
• Printable themed character sheets and spell cards (PDF) — free

FOR DMs
• Campaigns built chapter by chapter: locations, NPCs, staged shops, read-aloud text
• One-tap random campaign generator, loot generator, and a saved encounter library — build your fights ahead of time and load them into battle in two taps
• Rollable tables for weather, tavern happenings, and plot twists, 1-HP minion rules, effect timers, and a world clock that tracks your campaign's days
• Review your players' actual character sheets right from the table screen
• Table Display mode for a second screen — with a stream overlay (chroma backgrounds, big roll banners) when you broadcast

CONTENT — ALL SRD 5.1, ALL BUILT IN
334 monsters · 237 pieces of equipment · 273 magic items · 147 spells, with slots, upcasting, and dispel resolution handled by the app.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-28

Telepathic Bond arrives: host an online table and your party can join from anywhere (hosting with Fold&Roll+; joining is always free).

Also new:
• One-shots — a separate shelf for single-session games, with quick create.
• How to Play — a full in-app guide to running and playing games.
• NPC attacks now roll properly against player armor class.
• One shared roll log for the whole table, with a DM-only filter.
• Combat movement ranges, floor-aware token placement, and a round of map and stability fixes.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-26

Roll your real dice.
Prefer your own dice at the table? Flip the Real Dice switch at the top of Quick Rolls and Fold&Roll meets you there: tap the face you rolled, and the app still handles the rest — modifiers, critical hits, advantage and disadvantage, and the shared roll log, where your rolls are marked so the table can see they were rolled in person. It works in the Dice Tray and in battle, for initiative and death saves too. Real Dice is free for everyone and off until you switch it on — and a DM can suggest it to the whole table.

Also new: a brief loading screen when you open Fold&Roll — the purple origami d20 for everyone, in gold for Fold&Roll+ members.

And Fold&Roll now runs on iOS 17 and later, so more devices at the table can join in.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-24

The 2024 rules are here. Create characters under the 2024 ruleset (SRD 5.2) or convert an existing character with the one-way Convert tool — campaigns stay sealed to one edition, and the 2024 bestiary brings 330 monsters, weapon masteries, and Heroic Inspiration. Also new: chat in your character's languages (the table sees garble unless they comprehend), Detect Magic sensing on the battle map, a live distance readout between tokens, custom token portraits, and table chat on the Table Display. Plus readability and scrolling fixes throughout.

New: Dice-Drop Maps — roll dice and watch a dungeon carve itself, chambers landing where the dice fall. Create 10 free; unlimited with Fold&Roll+.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-21

This update makes monster rolls true to the stat block:
• Spawned monsters now roll with their real proficiency — saving throws, skills, and spell DCs match the printed creature, including expertise skills like a dragon's Perception.
• The Quick Rolls picker shows each combatant's Level or CR, so duplicates are easy to tell apart.
• Monsters you already spawned in existing campaigns are corrected automatically.
• Homebrew monsters now keep their ability scores when they join a battle.
• Fog of war is real now: tokens and spell zones hidden by fog — or hidden by the DM — no longer show on player screens, the table display, or the stream overlay, in the map or the enemy list. Only the DM sees what's in the dark — and you can't lose your own token in it: placing or moving stops at the fog line.
Thanks for playing — more is on the way.
