Usually the customer service is great if there are any issues. However, my most recent order came back with unknown red stains on several of my white shirts. Customer service has been non responsive about them. I was thankfully able to get the stains out on my own, and washed a few other white shirts, and was shocked at how much better they came out when I washed them. So, I recommend Folded for your dark clothes or big items like sheets, but I’d use caution for lighter colored items. ### 2/5 — Not worth it *2021-10-06, version 2.0.6* They never pickup or drop off at the right time and so often I’ve had to cancel my orders. They take forever to return laundry and it’s beyond expensive. It doesn’t keep you signed in so you need to sign in ever single time you want to use the app. There are some issues with how it is configured. One example is that if you want to type notes in, the keyboard covers the box you’re typing in so you can’t see what you’re typing. ### 4/5 — Excellent Service, just some small things to get to 5 stars *2021-02-15, version 2.0.0* This is much better than their competitors, but my only request is that they keep some form of session-based login. I keep having to login each time the app is closed and reopened. Also - The load times are a little slow, but that’s not really something that would stop me from using it. I used Folded on four occasions for wash & fold and dry cleaning. On the first three, they were late picking up, dropping off, or both. More than once, they were late by over a full day. Note that dropoffs for wash/fold and dry cleaning are done separately, and I had issues with both. Communications regarding the delays and the status of my orders were extremely lacking. Folded lured me with a coupon to place a fourth and final order, and this time, they never showed up to pick up my dirty clothes. My experience was especially disappointing, because I thought the quality of the actual cleaning and hanging/packing of my clothes surpassed Folded’s competitors. I also preferred their simple pricing structure and available options for detergent, water temp., etc. ### 2/5 — Mediocre *2020-05-03, version 1.16.15* Clothes came back smelling like softener when I asked for no softener since my daughter is allergic, delivery and pick up was smooth as the driver got here on time for both pickup and delivery. Delivery has been on time and there are rarely problems. There was a problem once and the company reprocessed the clothes immediately. Thank you again :) ### 5/5 — Great Service! *2020-03-24, version 1.16.15* Anyone who complains about this service is just having a bad day. The app is very easy to use. You can leave specific specifications on how exactly you want your laundry done and it will be done that way no questions asked. These guys are very responsible. The people who deliver or pick up my laundry are VERY friendly. My clothing came back cleaner than ever and Folded perfectly. It is very rare that they are late. I can say from experience almost 100% of the time, they are on time or early which is great! I highly recommend using their services! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lost my laundry *2021-08-03, version 2.0.5* I sent a duvet for dry cleaning and it was never returned to me. I tried calling and emailing multiple times to either track it down or request a reimbursement. I don’t know if it was lost or stolen, but Folded has either not replied to any messages or told me they will mail a reimbursement check which hasn’t come for months. I can’t seem to get ahold of anyone at the company anymore and am out $300 for the cost of the duvet + the $30 cost of the dry cleaning service which they didn’t even reimburse me for. Would never recommend anyone use their service again. ### 1/5 — Bad dry clean service and worse customer service *2020-09-29, version 1.16.15* I used Folded twice - once was this past January and once was this past July. The first experience was fine - I scheduled my dry cleaning service and everything was nice and smooth. The second time was the worst experience ever. I had them pick up my winter jackets and sweaters for dry clean, and two out of five were shrunk. That wasn’t the end of story. I tried to call them but no one responded, so I emailed the customer service to explain the situation. They responded quickly saying they would like to take the clothes back and see if they could fix it and also asked me to provide the websites of products similar to my damaged clothes. I agreed to send back my clothes, hoping they can be repaired. Several days later, I got the clothes back and they were still damaged as if nothing had been done by Folded. No one reached out to me explaining the situation and they seemed to want to pretend nothing had happened. I emailed them again and tried to get compensated for my loss. I provided a rough estimate of the costs of my clothes as I was not able to find the exact products on the internet. They were very slow in response. I had to follow up multiple times to see if anyone is trying to fix this situation. Ten days later, I was told that reimbursement check had been mailed to me. When I got the check, it was only for an amount of $20 even though I had mentioned that the estimated costs of my clothes were $400. I emailed again trying to figure out why there was such a discrepancy between the reimbursement and the costs. They came back saying they erroneously only reimbursed me as if I had used the “wash and fold” service, not the dry clean service. They said they will mail me another check of $130. Again, not the reimbursement I was looking for. That was back at the beginning of September and I have not yet received the $130 check as of today, September 29. The dry clean service was very bad, but the customer service is even worse. I would never trust this company to handle my delicate clothes ever again. ### 1/5 — Do Not Use *2020-06-13, version 1.16.15* I strongly suggest you don’t use this service. I sent out clothes to Folded that came back completely ruined. My clothes were dried on extremely high heat which left permanent creases (pictures on Yelp). I took them to 2 other dry cleaners in hopes they could be salvaged but was told everything was damaged beyond repair. I would expect “professionals” to be able to do laundry correctly. ### 1/5 — Terrible service *2020-01-04, version 1.16.15* Always late and usually they don’t even bother to call or text to explain. Way to expensive to be so lackadaisical about scheduling. The service rep sounds like he’s in bed sleeping. Great concept, poor execution as far as customer service and clear communication about your order status. ### 1/5 — Absolutely horrible *2018-12-12, version 1.16.14* I read the reviews before trying out this app and thought to myself how bad could it be. The customer service is quite bad as they lost two pieces of clothing then found them a month later. No refund, no coupon was ever offered when I explained how frustrating this was. And then on top of all of this when I went to go pick up my clothing they changed the hours without notification. Really would not recommend. This app is 10 years behind service in other areas, like food delivery. Really just incredibly unreliable. Do not recommend using it ### 1/5 — Declining service *2018-04-24, version 1.16.7* This used to be my goto wash and fold but recently clothes come back dirty, deliveries are late even when you pay extra for 24 hr delivery, I called them and they said they will reimburse my money but no further action taken. ### 1/5 — LOST MY DRESS *2018-03-30, version 1.16.5* Three words: Do not use. My very first time using this service, I gave them my dress to dry clean, and they lost it. A very basic task = fail. Their app provides no way of listing the items you are sending in, so if they lose anything, there's no record of it, and they'll just claim "we didn't get that item." This was a dress I was planning to wear to an event, and now 4 days after I filed a report with them I've not heard anything back. It's been a nightmare. Disorganized, Unresponsive, Unaccountable. Their packaging of dry cleaning and their crisp folding of Wash&Fold were as if my mother was folding the clothes herself at my childhood home. The app itself needed some work but they did a great job in upgrading the software which makes it even easier to use. Their pricing is transparent and they do not charge delivery fees.
