## What is Foliomere?

Private reading. Durable Markdown notes.

Foliomere is a local-first study reader that helps you finish the documents and ebooks you already have—and turn important ideas into notes you can keep as ordinary Markdown.

With Foliomere, you can:

- Import EPUB, PDF, TXT, and Markdown files from Files
- Save your reading progress and continue where you left off
- Adjust text size, line spacing, and reading theme
- Add bookmarks and highlights that stay inside each book
- Review only the notes you actively wrote in Study and return to the source while the book remains in your library
- Save or share all active notes as one Markdown file, or save a single book’s notes

Foliomere is free to download. Core reading, bookmarks, highlights, written notes, and Markdown note export remain free. The one-time, non-consumable Foliomere Pro purchase permanently unlocks advanced Markdown editing, Recall and tags, Study Files, and continuous read-aloud. There is no subscription. Readers who originally acquired Foliomere before version 1.1.0 receive Pro automatically.

Removing a book deletes its local copy, bookmarks, and highlights. Notes you actively wrote remain in Study with source metadata, but they can no longer open the removed book.

The current version has no accounts, ads, behavioral analytics, or third-party tracking. By default, your library stays in the app sandbox. Markdown note copies go only to a location you choose; nothing is uploaded to developer-operated servers.
