The service seems reliable and the quality is good for business use. Definitely would recommend as a good phone system for starting businesses. ### 4/5 — Great Service *2022-06-14* This is a great service. All in all it works well for my business. The one thing I have a hard time with is entering phone numbers. It misses numbers sometimes. Sometimes when I call it doesn’t go through even if I repeat it three times.If I persist the call eventually go through ### 1/5 — Can’t sign up *2020-01-25* I installed the app on my iphone 11, but I couldn’t proceed, it asked me for user name and password, while I didn’t sign up!!! ### 3/5 — No SMS with external numbers *2019-11-19* I test drove Fongo Works as I have a Fongo number that I use frequently for personal use. I thought that it would be similar. I need texting for my company, but it’s only available intra-office. Meaning only between staff members. There’s also no ability to call and go directly to a live person (at least I couldn’t find it.) I’m sad that I can’t choose Fongo based solely on not having SMS ability. I had to look elsewhere to have my 1-800 number supported with texting ability. I hope Fongo adds texting from anywhere soon as it’s a key feature of my company’s phone line. Otherwise, it’s a functional app that has some security features built into it, such as verifying an app rather than logging into it for the first time. ### 4/5 — Why do you not allow the ability to receive external SMS? *2018-11-19, version 3.10.4* The overall functionality is 4/5 - in this day and age, many people reaches out by using SMS. This app does not allow you to receive text messages (SMS), unless the sending party is also a FongoWorks user, which significantly diminished the texting functionality substantially. ### 4/5 — Awesome service! *2017-11-07, version 3.9.25* Fongo Works is perfect for a new business or start-up. I have been using their services for a few months with zero issues. The virtual assistant and voicemail features are truly amazing. My only recommendation would be to add txt msg support. You cannot receive txt msgs at all and as a new business, i might be missing out on potential sales if i cannot see incoming txts. Please add an option to see incoming msgs at a minimum! A Canadian based company which is serving consumers since 7-8 years I guess and I used their app Fongo and now I tried "works" and it's free which is very rare in business market providing VoIP calls free at least I couldn't find one yet. Since it's a brand new app and pretty stable and straight forward customization as you need , BUT Some features are missing and I hope that Dev will update and bring some new features in it would easily convince business owners to move to Fongo for sure. - Greetings setup with uploading audio file not only my own live voice recording. - Music on hold while customer is on hold. - Call recording feature I'll happily pay few extra $ for this feature. - extensions are a very good feature but what if a company doesn't need extensions the call should directly rings the forwarded given number without prompting a caller to press any key. - Virtual fax and fax number addition would be more professional. - For efficient business customer service is very important I understand you guys may be can't afford at the moment to have phone customer service but email replies should be very quick so the business owners feel comfortable. By this Long review I hope developers read it and bring some of my requested features in the next update I'll for sure be the happy customer to port my company numbers to Fongo. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst experience ever *2026-07-18* Printed labels for my business with a fongo works number and incoming calls didn’t work. Many hours wasted, labels, money, etc I hated every minute of it and wish I never trusted this app ### 1/5 — Hanging up mid call *2026-05-26* Every time I try to call someone using the app it hangs up my phone call mid call. I have to call the same person 3 times before a reliable full phone conversation can be done. (Mention that you were referred by “CD” in your DM). ### 1/5 — Nonexistent customer service *2025-06-04* I don’t know what’s going on with these guys, I’ve asked simple questions and gotten absolutely nowhere and they’ve closed my request tickets without even a resolution! I’m beside myself, I will be canceling, and I would suggest not getting the service based on the nonexistent customer service, unfortunately. It’s got all the great features such as auto attendant, Hunt group, extensions, messaging through the app between extensions, voice quality is flawless on LTE or Wi-Fi, works with Siri calls, the portal was easy to set up, the support was quite responsive. Great idea and great development! ### 5/5 — AMAZING!!!!! *2017-11-22, version 3.9.26* OMG, so I just set up my business number to forward to Fongo, created extensions, individual voicemails, receptionist, emergency lines, customized how calls are received and transferred. Then I played around with incoming calls and I love the ability to transfer to another line from within the app. It’s free and genius! Thank you FONGO!!!! Please, don’t stop, don’t bankrupt or sell the service, it’s perfect. I’m gonna make sure all my friends know about it and spread the word. I love that it’s Canadian. I hate that there is no one to call (customer service), but the email response is quite prompt.
