I installed this extension to increase the size and change the font of letters in my gmail inbox in Safari. It only worked intermittently, and sometimes, for some entries in the inbox and not others.  Turning the extension on and off in Safari sometimes worked intermittently, as did closing Safari and reopening it, but I could not get the font changes to remain stable.

Mit dieser App kann ich relativ einfach für Webseiten meine bevorzugten Schriftarten einstellen. Ja, es ist ein Nischenprodukt, aber wem es gefällt. Die App ist gut gelöst, und der Entwickler antwortet auch schnell bei Fragen.

Mainly we love this app. I was extremely impressed to have Atkinson Hyperlegible available. This font was created by the braille institute specifically for low vision. I was also able to change the colors for someone with a rare color blindness. However we have noticed that it sometimes decreases contrast of elements in webpages, or can cause other issues, likely due to many websites not being able to handle larger font size.  Thankfully it looks easy to turn it off for specific websites and just use VoiceOver as needed.

This extension will be able to read and alter webpages and see your browsing history on this website. This could include sensitive information, including passwords, phone numbers, and credit cards.

Yes I definitely agree. In fact, it is the main reason that limits me to install other extensions. ( which is partly the reason I developed my own).

One suggestion is to not execute safari extension on all websites and even limit them to only one day.
This may be a hassle, unfortunately security always comes at the price of inconvenience.

Alternatively, if you are a developer - you could always extract the javascript to audit. ( perhaps another app idea to audit other safari extensions)

For the few time I’m forced to use Safari I’ll enjoy this extension. I just wish Apple allowed extensions in like Brave, Firefox etc

NOTE: I use this as an accessibility aside as I have Quinine Toxicity (Tunnel/Double Vision), ADHD and Dyslexia.

Only been using it a few days, but so far it seems to work well, and has many more options than most font size/style substitution browser extensions.  Also glad it has the Open Dyslexia font, as I’m enjoying that on Chrome.

There’s a few websites where it doesn’t convert all the fonts (ie sourceforge.com svn repositories, the commits history) and some sites are just evil and enforce linespacing, and when the font is increased, it just overlaps with the lines above and below (not this extensions fault, although I note it has a setting to try and compensate for this).

Over all, this and Noir are working well for my needs.  Not I just need an extension that will make text box backgrounds a different colour to the rest of the webpage so I can find them (like they used to be), and draws a customisable border around switches, radio buttons, buttons, etc so I can find them (especially when they are in the off position).  Oh and an extension that reports every web developer who thinks pastel coloured backgrounds with white text could ever be readable to the police!!!!!

Yes, some sites restrict external fonts from being used and only allow system fonts. 

An extension that makes text box backgrounds a different colour and outlines html controls sounds sweet! Thanks for the idea, definitely something I can research on for my next app

…but extension still doesn’t work/error message does not go away after restarting Safari several times.

FontFlex est une application exceptionnelle pour tous ceux qui aiment personnaliser leur expérience de lecture sur Safari. Le choix de plus de 1 500 polices Google est impressionnant, et la possibilité de changer la taille, le style, la couleur et même l’interface de l’app est un vrai plus. L’organisation par catégories (serif, sans-serif, monospace, manuscrite, etc.) rend la navigation très agréable.

Un aspect que j’apprécie particulièrement : FontFlex peut vraiment aider les personnes en difficulté de lecture, comme celles atteintes de dyslexie ou de troubles visuels. Grâce à des polices adaptées (comme Atkinson Hyperlegible ou des polices « dyslexia-friendly »), chacun peut adapter Safari à ses besoins et rendre la lecture sur le web beaucoup plus confortable et inclusive. C’est une vraie avancée pour l’accessibilité numérique !

Pour aller encore plus loin, j’adorerais pouvoir filtrer les polices selon leur style ou leur usage (par exemple : « manuscrite », « pour titres », « élégant ») et surtout selon la prise en charge linguistique, comme « adaptée au français » ou « avec accents », à la manière de Google Fonts. 
Ce serait génial de pouvoir trouver facilement les polices qui conviennent parfaitement à la langue française !

En attendant, il m’arrive de devoir « farfouiller » sur Google Fonts depuis un autre appareil pour repérer des polices qui me plaisent, car ce n’est pas pratique sur l’iPhone et il m’arrive d’oublier celles que j’avais trouvées. Une fonction de recherche avancée et la possibilité de sauvegarder ses polices favorites directement dans FontFlex rendraient l’expérience encore plus fluide.

Enfin, j’espère qu’un jour il sera possible, grâce à cette app, de personnaliser les polices de toutes les applications et de l’ensemble d’iOS, pas seulement Safari. Ce serait un rêve pour tous les passionnés de typographie et un vrai plus pour l’accessibilité !

Bravo aux développeurs pour cette app déjà très aboutie, qui rend Safari unique, agréable et accessible à tous. Quelques options de recherche avancée rendraient FontFlex absolument parfaite !

J’en profite pour vous préciser un point concernant la synchronisation : malheureusement, je ne peux pas utiliser iCloud, car mes 5 Go de stockage sont saturés et il m’est impossible de faire de la place ou de récupérer mon ancien contenu. J’utilise actuellement TeraBox, qui offre 1 To de stockage gratuit, et j’adorerais pouvoir synchroniser mes favoris avec une alternative à iCloud.

Je suis vraiment content que tu apprécies FontFlex — et ça me touche de savoir que l’app aide aussi côté accessibilité. This font app is great for changing fonts in your browser and apps. You have a fall-back font to use that can be selected in case the font or site doesn’t accept the chosen font. There Many options to chose from to set parameters for your font! So, far it is working as described. The developer is helpful with any problems.

I absolutely love this app. It’s simple to set offers plenty of options to make reading articles in safari so much more pleasant. This is a set and forget kind of app because it just works and works well. Of course you can jump into settings anytime and change font, font weight, color etc etc. more than worth the small price.
