## What is Food Date?

Food Date connects people through shared food cravings. Pick what you want to eat, choose a restaurant, set a date — and meet fellow food lovers for a real meal.
Not a dating app — it's social dining, food-first, gender-neutral, group-friendly, centered on shared food cravings. The default group size is 4 people (host + 3 joiners). The app is designed for platonic social dining connections, similar to Meetup but focused on food.

How It Works

Pick Your Craving — Browse 24 cuisines and 500+ dishes. From chicken parma to goat biryani, pad thai to souvlaki — if you're craving it, someone else is too.

Choose a Spot — Search real Melbourne restaurants powered by Google, complete with ratings and photos. Or nominate your favourite hidden gem.

Set a Date — Pick when works for you. See countdown timers so you never miss a food date.

Meet & Eat — Others join your food date. You approve who comes. Show up, share a meal, make a friend.
