## What is Food Effect Watch?

Whether you are a bio-hacker or just concerned about your health, FoodEffect Watch assists you in your quest for peak performance and a healthier life.

FoodEffect Watch is a seamless way to test your meals to discover possible food sensitivities that are could be contributing to chronic inflammation and disease.

Inflammation is an innate response to injury, stress, or illness, poor gut function or eating toxic foods (high-toxin, high-sugar, high-processed, high-gluten, etc.) and induces an inflammatory response. When this response becomes the norm for your body, it becomes a low-level feature in your physiology and problems arise.

It turns out that inflammation may be the common link between cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and many other common diseases, and thus should be reduced by whatever means available.

FoodEffect Watch uses the built in heart rate monitor of the Apple Watch to measure your pulse first thing in the morning and then before and after a meal or suspicious food is ingested. Simply wear your Apple Watch to bed or put on before getting out of bed (FoodEffect needs your morning pulse as a reference point) then before a meal simply open the app and select Start Meal, then when you are done eating select End Meal. That’s it! Food Effect Watch will monitor your pulse for 90 minutes after your meal and will return a result of “No Food Sensitivity Detected” or “Possible Food Sensitivity Detected”.

## Key features

- Meal tracking for sensitivity detection
- Heart rate monitoring via Apple Watch
- Detects possible food sensitivities
- Monitors pulse for 90 minutes post-meal
- Provides 'Detected' or 'Not Detected' results

### 5/5 — This app verified the bloodwork

*2024-04-18*

So my functional medicine doctor did a blood panel and checked for allergies I didn’t know I had. One of them was chicken and I love chicken. I didn’t want to believe it so I used this app to see if I had a reaction and it turned out that I do have a reaction, so this app verified the blood work—bummed though I’m happy to have this app and I’m going to test some of the other items that showed up on my blood panel. Nicely done!

### 5/5 — Easy and Useful

*2024-04-17*

Easy, Useful and Intuitive Interface. Easy download, clear and simple to use with two easy steps, Start Meal and End Meal. Notifications if you forget to end your meal. 90 minutes later you are notified of your results. I validated that my every day breakfast and lunch were not causing any sensitivities. Dinner is more variable, so looking forward to the results.

### 5/5 — Great information on body response

*2024-04-14*

This app really is informative! It lets me know how my body is responding to certain food I eat. One day I was having joint pains in my fingers and they appeared to be swollen so I decided to test some of the foods i love to eat all the time and found out that lo and behold i have a sensitivity to choose another milk product.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-04-14*

"this app is great app for me as i kinda thought that peanut butter was not good for me but I love it made it anyway. I used this app to test peanut butter and sure enough I found that I am sensitive to it! So now I will try make the alternative. I know there are different types of nuts that can make the peanut butter much healthier and better!

### 5/5 — Very helpful!

*2024-04-03*

All my life I've had a low resting heart rate. One day when I was working quietly at my desk I noticed my heart rate was 73 bpm. I had just eaten a cashew-based protein bar and so got curious. I used this app the next day to test just cashews and sure enough my heart rate did a major increase after eating it and this app showed a possible food sensitivity! Needless to say no more cashews😕

### 5/5 — Nice Product!

*2024-04-02*

This app works very nicely on my Apple Watch. It has a very clear interface and provides me with excellent data with my body’s response to food.

A feature I really like is the app’s ability to not only test in real time but use manual mode to go back and create a start and end time if I were to forget to measure during a meal. It will calculate everything for me.

### 1/5 — Does not install to the watch

*2024-03-31*

This app does not show in watch app and does not install to apple watch.

**Developer response:** Hello Traveler, on your iWatch, open AppStore. Scroll all the way down to the end and tap the Account button. Tap Purchased, then tap My Purchases and you will see Food Effect Watch, open it or download it.

It's also a good idea on your Watch app on your iPhone, under My Watch, App Store, make sure Automatic Downloads is selected.

Food Effect Watch is our new stand alone watch product meaning there is no iPhone app you have to run to use the watch app. It's clean and simple.

SweetWater Health also offers FoodEffect, an iPhone app which has been released for many years and provides different features and functions. Make sure you are not confusing the two apps and expecting to download FoodEffect (the iPhone app) to the iwatch. FoodEffect(the iPhone app) will not be in the watch app's list of available apps to download.

If none of the above works, contact us at support@sweetwaterhrv.com. We can walk you through the steps over the phone.
