No barcode? No problem. Our app doesn’t need one. Unlike competing apps that rely on barcodes, this app can read and interpret printed ingredients directly. Since it's not limited by the size of a barcode database, it can analyze millions of products. A barcode just represents an ID number. Other food scanners use them to look up foods and ingredients in a remote database via the internet. Unfortunately, these databases are usually incomplete, slow, and outdated.

While nothing beats reading the actual ingredients with AI, as a backup (when a food label is damaged or unreadable), our app lets you scan barcodes too. Using a built-in database, it can instantly recognize barcodes for close to a million different foods.

Bad UI but more importantly bad UX. Clunky and hard to use.

**Developer response:** Thank you for trying the app and sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations. After developing and testing it for several months, the latest version is used daily by people worldwide.

We designed the interface to make it simple. Over time, we refined it so scans can be done in one or two taps. However, we also know that different users can experience things differently.

Open the app, select “Read ingredients” or “Scan barcode”, then tap the blue scan button. Our app can analyze a packaged food and display the results in 2-5 seconds.

If you’re scanning a barcode, zoom in or step back until it fits in the white guide box. Otherwise, if you take a photo of the ingredients, the text must be clear and readable.

Please note that while our app includes a large barcode database, occasionally, it may not recognize certain products. We are continually expanding our database to improve coverage.

Additionally, if a food label is damaged or difficult to read, the app may not be able to scan it. Every food ingredient scanner on the market has these limitations.
