## What is FoodEntropy?

FoodEntropy helps you track the expiry date of everything in your fridge and pantry, and reminds you the morning it's due — so food gets eaten at its best and nothing is forgotten.

FEATURES
• Quick entry: add a name, purchase and expiry date, with an optional photo from your camera or library.
• See expiry at a glance: items are sorted by due date and color-coded red / amber / green for Expired / Within 3 days / Fresh.
• Home screen widget: see what's about to expire — and how much money is at stake — without opening the app.
• Expiry reminders: a local notification the morning an item is due, so nothing slips by.
• Waste insights: see your current breakdown and a rolling 30-day waste rate in clear charts.
• Track what you spend (optional): add a price and Home shows the value of food about to expire — what's at stake while there's still time to eat it. Waste stats include the value of discarded items too.
• Flexible actions: extend an item's date, mark it used, discarded, or delete it.
• iCloud sync (optional): off by default; turn it on to back up to your own private iCloud so your data survives a new phone.
• Dark mode, English and Traditional Chinese.

PRIVACY: No account, no server of ours. Your data and photos stay on your device; only if you enable iCloud sync are they backed up to your own private iCloud (which the developer can't access).

Free to use, with a one-time purchase to remove ads. Waste less food — starting with remembering to eat it.

## Pricing and in-app purchases

Base price: Free.

**One-time purchases**

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-12

New
• Home screen widget — see what's about to expire, and how much money is at stake, without opening the app.
To add it: long-press the Home Screen, tap "+", search for FoodEntropy, and pick the medium size.

The widget shows exactly what the app's home screen shows, stays in sync as you record items, and updates its expiry buckets when the date changes.

Improved
• For device languages other than Traditional Chinese, the app now falls back to English instead of showing Chinese.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-08

New
• Record what you paid for an item (optional — nothing else changes if you skip it)
• Home now shows the value of food about to expire, so you know what's at stake while there's still time to eat it
• Waste stats now include the value of discarded items

Improvements
• Fixed untranslated text in the English interface
• Improved VoiceOver descriptions and the layout at larger text sizes
• Fixed resolution timestamps not syncing over iCloud
