Some items are ok but I’d say I’ve thrown out about 1/3 of the food I’ve bought because it was spoiled and smelled rotten. When buying the meat consider there’s a 30% chance you will throw it away. Also don’t forget to take their fees into account. All in all I’ve found it was more cost effective to buy it when it’s on sale and freeze it myself. ### 4/5 — Give it a try and you will save *2026-06-16, version 2.0.5* I start using this app for a couple of months now, here in Edmonton AB, and overall I am happy with the meat products I was getting, especially chicken, lamb, pork. I cooked diferent meals and no change in taste as compared with the fresh product. But was dissapointed by the fish, halibut, rockfish, wild cod, that I tried, it did not look fresh and it had a smell, package was perfect, came frozen. I trew these away, and will not buy again. I would discontinue seafood&fish from this program because it is not safe to eat anymore. Found the app easy to use, although a couple of times got a glitch and had to delete, reinstall and sign in again. Foodhero People at the store (Bonnie Doon, Capilano,Garneau Safeways) are very polite and showed up really fast. Everything was clean, meat was kept packaged. You just need to ask customer service to call them upon arrival. And last but not least, I contacted the customer service and I was impressed how professional and polite, yet personable response I’ve got from them. Kudos! It’s a hassle for pickup because someone has to bring the items from the back. Today I made a purchase and when I went for pickup, most of my items “weren’t available”. This was a waste of time. Never refunded. Reluctantly ordered again for my mom…. Double charged for a 45$ order. Again. Items are only 1$-2 difference from the real fresh items, the item are frozen and some bakery items are expired plus there is a seevice fee so i dont think you get a deal on this ### 1/5 — Services Charge *2026-06-20, version 2.0.5* They only have a certain amount of groceries available at a certain time and usually it’s multiple of the same thing. So if you only want to buy one thing the service charge makes is almost the same price as the regular not old/rotten option. If you are not getting 5+ items (which is usually not an option) it’s not worth it. You’re basically giving them a $2 tip for giving you a lower quality food ### 1/5 — Misleading *2026-06-15, version 2.0.5* Based on my experience it's just another way to use people with good intention. Big grocery chains lowering price for super expensive produce that still very much expensive. Or if people on smaller budget could afford 50% off on 40$ steak. And who profit .... ### 1/5 — Service fees *2026-06-07, version 1.2.6* My first few orders there was no service fee. All of a sudden there are services charges of $1.79. This is not clearly stated ahead of time. I am deleting the app ### 1/5 — poor selection, hefty fees *2026-06-07, version 2.0.5* There’s only a handful of items displayed each day and I didn’t even notice the first couple of times that there is $1.79 fee on top of each order: wouldn’t be unreasonable except there’s so little to choose from, most orders are $5-10… and don’t forget we have to pay taxes for these “services” (which are ordinarily included in the cost of food items!!) Maybe “fee” should be a percentage of the order? that would be far more reasonable!! ### 1/5 — Big corporate greed *2026-06-05, version 2.0.5* For the stores that charge service fee. The 1.79 service fee plus tax is just corporate greed, they should be happy people are willing to buy almost expired food rather than having to throw it out, a .50 would still be too much but acceptable ### 1/5 — Crazy service fee *2026-05-26, version 2.0.5* App charges a service fee that is often 50% of the item cost making it less expensive to just buy things fresh. Try other apps. ### 1/5 — Waste of time and money *2026-04-29, version 2.0.5* Very disappointed with this misleading service. They show pictures of things that are not actually for sale, and give you a singular version of that. For instance, thought I was getting a rack of ribs based on the description and photo, but no, it was one individual RIB, not rib(s). It’s so freezer burnt that it’s not even going to be edible. I won’t be using this service ever again, and I will be deleting my account. I only used it twice and both times were a disappointment and poor quality. The discounted steaks are mainly fat, hardly any meat and not family size. I will be sending my screenshots and emails with the company to consumer affairs; this is predatory behaviour with false advertising and descriptions and against the law in Canada. ### 1/5 — Need lots of work *2026-03-28, version 2.0.5* No pictures of items, no best before dates posted.
