## What is FoodieCalc?

FoodieCalc makes tracking what you eat genuinely simple — and it's completely free, with no ads, no subscriptions, and no account required.

Snap a photo, say it out loud, scan a barcode, or search — then watch your progress on a beautiful dashboard. Your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud.

WHY FOODIECALC
• 100% free — every feature, no paywalls, no subscriptions
• Private by design — no account needed, no ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data
• Syncs across iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud — or sign in with Apple or Google (optional) for a backup you can restore anywhere

LOG FOOD IN SECONDS
• Snap it — photograph a meal and get a log you can review before saving
• Say it — describe what you ate in plain language, by voice or text
• Ask Siri — "Log a meal in FoodieCalc" or "How many calories do I have left in FoodieCalc?"
• Scan barcodes to pull nutrition instantly
• Search a large food database, or create custom foods, recipes, and reusable meals
• Quick-add anything with just the macros, and log water with one tap

Powered by fatsecret nutrition API (www.fatsecret.com)

INTELLIGENCE WITH BOUNDARIES
• Voice, text, and nutrition insights run on your device with Apple Intelligence — nothing leaves your phone
• Photo recognition uses Apple's Private Cloud Compute: it only runs after you opt in, and your photos are never stored
• You review every suggestion before anything is logged
• Spot food with Visual Intelligence and jump straight into FoodieCalc
(AI features need an Apple Intelligence-capable device; photo logging and Visual Intelligence need iOS 27.)

SMART GOALS
• Personalized calorie and macro targets based on your body and goals
• Fine-tune protein, carbs, and fat — even set different goals for different weekdays
• Cheat days that keep your streak safe

SEE YOUR PROGRESS
• A clean dashboard with calorie and macro rings
• Not just calories — vitamins, minerals, and fiber too
• Water tracking with your own presets, synced two-way with Apple Health
• Logging streaks, and weight tracking with a trend chart
• Customizable Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets

BUILT FOR YOU
• Apple Health: fill in weight and height, export your nutrition, and let your activity shape your calorie target
• Optional gentle reminders (Foodie Nudges) — off until you turn them on
• Full VoiceOver support and Dynamic Type
• Light and dark themes, accent colors, and alternate app icons

FoodieCalc is free because we love building it. If it becomes part of your routine, you can buy the developer a coffee to support new features — it unlocks nothing, and the whole app always stays free.

Start tracking smarter today. Happy logging!

### 5/5 — Best Food Tracker On The App Store

*2026-09-17*

FoodieCalc is great. It does everything you need in a nutrition tracker and it’s free with zero ads. The barcode scanner and food library work very well. There’s ability to make fine grained adjustments and it syncs with Apple Health and the full data will sync into Google Health too, which is my preferred app.

This dev is also responsive and listens to feedback. I try to buy them max coffees once a month. That’s how good this system is.

### 5/5 — Best Free Nutrition Tracking App

*2026-09-13*

This app has so many great features for free! It tracks all your calories, macros, and micros, which is hard to find outside a pay wall. It also has very good and responsive customer service.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the kind words and for flagging this! We've just shipped a fix for the AI tool stability issues in our latest update — it should be much more reliable now. Would love it if you could give it another try and update your rating if it's working better for you. Appreciate the support!

### 3/5 — Good but AI Tool is Wonky

*2026-08-18*

This app has so many great features for free! It has all your calories, macros, and micros, which is hard to find outside a pay wall. My one complaint is the ai tool only works sometimes. I’ve had to supplement with chat gpt
