### 4/5 — Love the concept - not available for U.S.

*2024-08-03*

Really wish this was available for finding viable options in the United States

### 3/5 — No carrot allergy

*2023-06-24, version 3.5.2*

I love this app however it does not have carrot listed as one of the allergies. This is very important to me as I have anaphylaxis to it and it is in most things, including natural preservative 160a. Would love for this to be added to the app so that I can safely choose where I can eat.

Also if I choose Asian for dinner there is nothing that I can eat due to my other allergies, pork and egg. Still going to have to call around to find somewhere to eat I guess until these things are updated

### 3/5 — So much potential

*2023-06-18, version 3.5.2*

I have just downloaded the app after seeing an ad on tv. I really need it in my life, but it doesn’t seem to want to work. Keeps freezing and having to restart all over again. Please get it going properly.

### 5/5 — Would pay for this!

*2023-03-14, version 3.3.1*

Love that restaurants are dietician verified!

### 5/5 — A must-have for those with dietary needs!

*2023-03-11, version 3.3.1*

Wow. As someone with anaphylaxis, the Foodini app is an absolute game changer. I’ve waved good bye to stress while eating out, and managed to discover so many incredible venues and food brands along the way.

### 5/5 — Loved, loved, loved it!

*2023-03-10, version 3.3.1*

The app was super easy to use and loved the onboarding flow where I could easily select my allergies. Great recommendations too. It’s so nice to be able to go out and trust that where I eat is allergy friendly.

### 5/5 — Great idea!

*2023-02-16, version 3.3.1*

Great idea for an app

### 5/5 — Great idea, needs to branch out

*2022-10-17, version 3.2.6*

Love love this idea and I need this in my life. However, it’s glitching when I scroll down to browse restaurants but that doesn’t really matter as there are none in Victoria anyway.
I’ve given it a 5 star rating as it appears to be fantastic, I just need it to reach my state. Will be a wonderful resource if I visit NSW.
I wonder though, is paprika included as a “chilli” in the allergens?
Can’t wait to enjoy the benefits but that glitch must be fixed. It refreshes after an amount of scrolling and I can’t browse all the restaurants.
Honestly can’t believe this is free but I think it’s good to have it free at least until there are more restaurants listed. I’d happily pay a small monthly fee ($2.99? $4.99) for the resource without hesitation if it had enough restaurants listed

### 2/5 — FODMAP disappointing

*2022-09-08, version 3.2.5*

Love the idea of this app but with the FODMAP setting on it still recommends foods that have onion or garlic

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-09-30, version 2.9.1*

The Foodini app is so simple and easy to use and I love how it gives me suggestions for places that suit my dietary needs. I like to eat plant based, which on most food apps leaves me with limited options. Foodini makes me feel included and I’ve been loving using it to help decide where to purchase from.

### 5/5 — Life changer when eating out!

*2021-09-17, version 2.9.1*

Foodini is a fantastic app that has been helping me to make conscious decisions about my food choices and has reduced my stress whenever I want to go out with my husband or friends (or when ordering online). Super simple to set up, this app permits me to check several restaurants' menus in Sydney and identify what exactly matches my dietary requirement! It truly amazed me knowing that a dietitian had reviewed each menu. All of this for free? This app has been a live saver and an absolute game changer! In the past, I struggled to find suitable options due to my allergies and sensibility to a particular food -dairy, for example. But now, all I need to do is to open Foodini, find a restaurant, check what matches my dietary needs, and that’s it! I enjoy without dramas!!!

### 5/5 — Living with food allergy has become so much easier

*2021-09-14, version 1.0.5*

Love this app! earlier I used to struggle finding allergy friendly restaurants and food but with this app it has become so much easier to find restaurants and businesses that cater to my dietary needs and food intolerances. What I really like is that you can also create a dietary profile that matches you to suitable restaurants and menus that you can eat from. Eating out has become so much safer and easier with this app! Definitely recommend!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Misleading

*2023-06-18, version 3.5.2*

Love the concept but many restaurants near me only offer a sauce or a drink to suit my coeliac needs… I don’t call that dinner.

### 1/5 — Too buggy - I’ll stick to find me GF app

*2023-06-18, version 3.5.2*

Will not store log in credentials on iOS, keep getting a “server error”. Too many bugs to get past page 1.

Got as far as trying to register my allergies, would be much better if “coeliac” is an option. Too many restaurants claim to be GF but cross contamination issues abound which hurt coeliacs

### 1/5 — Registration required

*2023-06-18, version 3.5.2*

I refuse to hand over email to every developer on the planet. Why does the developer need my email for me to use this app?
I have dietary restrictions and was hoping this app might help but I don’t understand why my email is required…

### 1/5 — Recommendations are a bit of a joke

*2023-06-07, version 3.5.2*

I chose Keto diet.

App recommended I go to one restaurant and order a bottle of water (nothing else).

At the second restaurant it recommended I order a side of sour cream (nothing else).

C’mon guys.

### 1/5 — Too many irrelevant push notifications

*2023-02-27, version 3.3.1*

Too many irrelevant push notifications

### 1/5 — not worth

*2022-10-05, version 3.2.5*

you have to register with your email address what I do not like. The app is not working well, still needs lots of improvement. I’m vegan, but the app shows me in “green, safe to eat “ options with halloumi cheese, etc. If you know your diet you can just check the menu like usual and you see the option you can eat.

### 1/5 — No restaurants in Melbourne?

*2021-06-08, version 1.0.2*

I’m all for this sort of app, but there’s a few problems. If I set my location to StKilda for instance, it begins recommending me restaurants that are obviously in Sydney 700km away.

- edit- Ok I now realise that they have NO restaurants listed for Melbourne Australia so this app is pretty useless to me.

### 1/5 — Way too much personal info required.

*2021-04-21, version 1.0.1*

This app requires far too much personal info for what it does. Also, their privacy policy and terms of use show much more access to your personal information than is stated in the app privacy label in the App Store. Also, why does a free app require access to your credit card details as per their privacy policy? You also can’t use the app without giving them far too much do your personal info. The app is free to download, their are no ads, you can’t buy anything in the app and businesses listed in the app aren’t paying to be listed(yes I checked), so how is this app making money? Selling your personal data? Seems to be the only thing that makes sense given the amount of personal info they want.

### 2/5 — Nice idea but it’s a no

*2023-11-19, version 3.8.1*

I liked the concept, downloaded the app, put in my preferences and was surprised at how many places popped up that I would never have considered.

However, once you click on a restaurant, it shows everything safe on their menu - literally the only things safe on the first 20+ places for me wetr sauces and soft drinks, not actually food. App definitely needs work 👎

### 2/5 — Right idea, layout needs work

*2023-08-18, version 3.8.1*

The idea behind the app is good by the layout and usability is awkward. Not really intuitive to to update your dietary preferences - should consider changing ‘Manage Profile’ to ‘My dietary requirements’ or something. Allergens should be brought to the top vs ‘Select eating preferences’. The Map always defaults me to Sydney (which is annoying as a melbournian). Nearly too many pins / options come up for me given I have selected ‘gluten’ as my allergy. Like I don’t really want to be directed to the corn chips at Guzman and Gomez, it’s not really helpful. The ‘Offers’ section glitches out, and not sure why online offers would be relevant anyway. Hard to discern the difference between dietician screened and dietician verified. Plenty more feedback to offer if interested!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-03-21, version 4.0.3*

This looks incredible. I’m in brisbane and newly diagnosed coeliac. I was able to share my location and SO many restaurants came up!! I’ll be working my way through them, thank you for the work you do!

### 5/5 — Very useful app for good allergies!

*2024-08-12*

As food allergic tourists in Australia we struggled to find safe places to eat. Then we found Foodini and it helped us navigate the choices to point us to places we could eat where they understood our allergies. The app filtered restaurants by how many choices we had on the menu and gave us the opportunity to see what we could eat before walking in the door. We had some fantastic meals and discovered some real gems we would never have found without Foodini. Brilliant!

### 5/5 — Absolute game changer!

*2024-08-08, version 4.0.3*

Well done team! This is a fantastic app for those with allergies. It takes the stress out of knowing and choosing restaurants and safer meal options.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-02-26, version 3.8.1*

This concept was obviously developed by someone who has food allergies. Saves so much time trying to research where is safe to eat and being able to create a group and consider everyone’s needs is great user experience 😊

### 5/5 — Makes my life a lot easier

*2024-02-19, version 3.8.1*

I don’t have any allergies but it’s a life saver when going out for dinner with my friends. Coeliac, lactose intolerant, vego, etc… no worries

### 5/5 — Game changer!

*2024-02-18*

Love that this app helps me know what on the menu I can eat to avoid having to ask and risk bad information. Excited this exists - hoping to see them grow and bring on more restaurants!

### 5/5 — Where has this app been all my life

*2024-02-16, version 3.8.1*

Love it! Makes dining out SO.MUCH.EASIER for people with food intolerances. You guys rock!

### 5/5 — Foodini - a foodie’s best friend 😄🙌

*2024-02-16, version 3.8.1*

Love how I could easily discover restaurants and menu matches that takes into account my food allergies and that are dietician verified as well.

### 5/5 — The App is a life changer!

*2024-02-15, version 3.8.1*

The app has helped me and some friends navigate through the right restaurants for us to eat with our allergies. This has changed and made it easier for us when going out to dine, rather then making our lives hard. Game changer!

### 5/5 — Best app ever!!! 🥰

*2023-05-30, version 3.5.2*
