This app would benefit from offering a store-specific option. Sometimes I’m not going to shop in three different places and need to know the best options in the shop I’m in. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2023-02-23* Database is small and the information they offer is just simple. No longer appears to use traffic light system of identifying health level of product. Shame really. Seems authors have put a lot of effort in only to mess it up. Bring back the old app or give us a choice which version to use instead of locking us out of the version that actually worked. **Developer response:** Hi Sccotre, Apologies for the late reply. Have you updated to the latest database in the app? We have just released an update yesterday actually, so when prompted, accept the update and hopefully you will be able to see many more products. Reloaded several times - each time states app need updated. Screen stuck at O with a dot above? ### 1/5 — Pointless *2026-05-30* Useless app. Doesn’t flag dangerous additives. Just shows the government health star rating that’s a completely flawed system and is already on most packaging. When I tried to add new items as suggested, there was an error and it didn’t work. It’s a bit pointless if you can’t scan things. ### 1/5 — Pointless in NZ *2024-12-04, version 5.2* No longer has gluten free as pert of it, despite being pointed to by healthify. Tells you to download GlutenSwitch which isn’t actually accessible in NZ so overall a bit pointless. No funding in NZ it seems so no data either, unlike in AU. ### 1/5 — does not scan items *2024-08-05* Of the items I scanned - including popular Australian brands - only half where recognised. The scanning facility is difficult to use and is very slow, it did not focus. This app is only half finished at best. ### 1/5 — Useless In Practice *2024-03-25, version 5.0* I tried 4 items of well known UK brands all of which are very familiar to British shoppers and none were in the database. Asking each time to take photographs is expecting too much given the apps 100% failure rate. Sadly I had very high hopes of FoodSwitch and feel if it is only suitable for one particular market (US?) then it should be shown as such to avoid wasting a lot time for all concerned. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2023-03-27* I have been waiting for an email to confirm my account for nearly a week. No email has surfaced, not in junk or spam. Already helped me with better (healthier) choices when doing groceries.
