## What is FoodT?

Do you want to eat less unhealthy food? Do you want to lose weight? Then why not try the FoodT app! Download this app and choose 3 types of food/drink you want to consume less of and then play away! Simply press the item on the screen when there’s a green circle and don’t when there’s a red circle.
By playing this game on your phone you will be a part of exciting new scientific research. Each time you play you’ll be contributing to research at The University of Exeter. This app is based on a similar online game, which was shown to reduce users’ food intake and weight after playing the game four times.

The FoodT app will ask you a few questions before and after you play so that our research team can see whether it helps you reduce your food intake, craving and weight. You will also be asked for a few basic details about yourself (age, sex) but the app will not collect any information about your identity. All the data you provide will be anonymous.
All data from the app will be sent anonymously to our researchers at the University of Exeter and so by downloading the app you consent to this (Check the terms and conditions for more information).

The current version of the app is available in English and a limited number of other languages. If successful, we will look to translate into more languages. For the latest updates and comments about the app please see our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/foodTapp/

### 4/5 — Too early to rate? Have feedback

*2024-03-20*

FYI- I went to the link to give feedback about the operation of the app and I didn’t find any place to leave information so I’m doing it here.
Frequently, at the end of using the program, my screen will not respond to some of the gliding lines, and then to the yes/no answers at the bottom. It’s like it’s frozen. And when I used it today, I could not get the bottom slider line to move at all. Eventually, the yes/no options work.
Overall, easy to use. (Not even one week in yet)

### 1/5 — Stürzt ab

*2023-08-28, version 1.6*

…und schließ sich selbst in Runde 3.

### 4/5 — Encouraging new approach if you struggle overeating

*2021-06-26*

Just tried this app as I was looking for an app to use when tempted to respond to food cravings. It’s a new concept to challenging thought processes that lead to overeating. Seems very positive. Will carry on and try to play the game when I get a craving for unhealthy food, it may just stop the craving and encourage me to ignore that craving. Very positive and great new way of approaching I’m the issue of unhealthy eating.

### 4/5 — Very Interesting!

*2021-06-25, version 1.5*

Downloaded after Jonno Proudfoot’s interview with Dr Natalia Lawrence - great Podcast! Tried the app for the first time - very easy to use and fast. One disappointment is that nuts and dried fruit are grouped together - I’d like to avoid all sugary foods, dried fruits included. I sure hope I don’t start craving them! I think I’ll have to lose points by avoiding them/ sitting still and losing points. And I Baby/Keto so for me I consider healthy ethically sourced meat and fish good what I wish to keep eating and not avoid. I’d love to see an option where meat and eggs could also be on the move toward list. I’m excited to see if using the app makes a difference. Cool!

### 5/5 — App funktioniert, jetzt mal ein Ergebnis abwarten

*2021-06-05, version 1.5*

Technisch funktioniert die App ohne Probleme. Ob der Heißhunger auf Süßes und Fastfood weniger wird muss sich noch zeigen.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2020-10-30, version 1.5*

For some unknown reason, every time I make a commitment to use this app often in the week, my cravings decrease. I really appreciate that.

### 5/5 — Maybe premature but hopeful

*2020-06-27*

I just downloaded the app and played the game once. I have high hopes this will reduce or preferably remove my cravings for junk in mass quantities.

### 5/5 — This app really works

*2020-01-13*

I can’t believe it but I feel different. I am not thinking about food all the time it’s weird. Its only been a short time but I actually really think this works!

### 1/5 — Useless for colour blind peopl

*2019-11-24*

Red and green circles can’t easily be distinguished.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2019-02-26, version 1.0*

I cannot even fill out my profile without this app without it crashing.
