### 4/5 — Good app

*2025-07-17, version 1.9.3*

Lots of spelling errors, but good otherwise

### 4/5 — Gute Übersicht, allerdings..

*2025-02-08*

### 3/5 — Trusting this app was a terrible mistake.

*2025-01-24, version 1.9.3*

I bought the full app, tracked every single thing I ate, every bowel movement and symptom I had, religiously for a month. Then it stopped working for me when I needed it most, and permanently locked me into the limited version.

I can honestly say I’ve never been more disappointed with a piece of software in my 40 years of life.

The first month after my surgery were the most important data to track. I trusted this app, and now I’ve lost precious information that I desperately need to access my help.

I happily paid $10 for this app. Now, I’d happily pay $1,000 to go back in time and stop myself from ever downloading it.

### 5/5 — So far so good !

*2024-07-14, version 1.9.3*

Easy to use. I save to my device every few days, at least until I decide I want to subscribe.
I would Love it if this app was also offered in android, so I can keep up with my food intake on either device I have handy.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2024-03-18, version 1.9.3*

Simple, easy to use, great reminders. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to add photos to the notes!

### 5/5 — Incredible Simple and Effective

*2024-02-21, version 1.9.3*

I tried out a couple apps in order to track meals and GI symptoms. This app was the winner!

### 5/5 — Super! Mit Backup-Datei wäre es noch besser :)

*2024-02-08*

Macht weiter so! 👍

### 4/5 — Very portable alternative to a “notebook sized log”

*2023-12-27, version 1.9.3*

Both for myself and for my doctor’s visit next week. I was keeping a handwritten log in a pocket sized notebook — then I found Foody. I too like how it doesn’t focus on calories/nutrients/etc, as these aren’t useful for my purpose, as well as it seems, many other users of this app.
However, I agree that there needs to more of a direct correlation between the food consumed and the symptoms. Perhaps this could be parsed from the time eaten/onset of the effects … but this seems like a bit more work on the part of the reader than is necessary.
I had to guess what the 3 check boxes under “SITUATION” were intended to mean … perhaps (CIRCUMSTANCES?) especially the “On The Way” choice. It could be better explained and also have more choices, as more than those 3 reasons are usually possible; even probable. Maybe add two more choices/check boxes for overall moods/feelings: positive (happy, energized, even simply “good”) or negative (sad, angry, frustrated, etc)? These do have an effect on the food choices made as well as the possible outcomes.
I do like how one is able to add more details in the text box that follows each entry.

### 5/5 — Best Food Tracking App

*2023-12-15, version 1.9.3*

Exactly what I needed for food and symptom tracking. Food entry is fast and exports for my doctors are easy and clear. No toxic diet culture infused in like most other apps.

### 5/5 — Genuinely Useful & All The Right Features

*2023-12-04, version 1.9.3*

I love that I don’t need an account; it runs locally on the device too! I just have it installed on my phone and that’s it.

I’m using this as a Migraine food diary, so I don’t need a calorie database or any of the other stuff that the other apps provide.

I just love the simplicity of it. The first time you enter an item, it adds itself to the autocomplete list and it’s right there the next time you start typing.

The features are locked behind one time purchases, not recurring subscriptions so it’s an affordable option for those of us that just need a simple app. Also the free version is excellent for trying it out.

This will be life-changing for me as I can easily enter my meals and snacks (as well as symptoms!) and just have everything chronologically ordered. In the past I’d always stop entering things when using pen and paper or other apps as it was just too many steps and too complicated.

This was precisely what I was looking for.

### 5/5 — Just what I was looking for

*2023-11-09, version 1.9.3*

Struggling with a suddenly worsened food intolerance and severe acid reflux, resulting in having to do an elimination diet. I checked out so many apps that focused more on calories and didn’t help me track what was happening in my body in response to specific foods or medications.

Foody has been perfect for what I needed! Easily enter meals (love reusable ingredient breakdowns), track symptoms, and miscellaneous category allows me to document meds, exercise, and more. I used the free version and could generate pdfs for the last 7 days that I can easily share with my allergist & decided to pay for the full features since it looks like it’s gonna take some time and trial and error to safely reintroduce foods.

Highly recommend this app for anyone trying to better understand connections between their diet and symptoms. My only negatives are that you have to pay for medication add-on separately from the lifetime paid version, and the Send Feedback link doesn’t seem to work. One thing I’d love is if there could be a desktop option so I could enter data from my laptop more easily than on my phone.

### 5/5 — perfect

*2023-10-18, version 1.9.3*

just download it tbh. if you’re looking for something simple, easy, and to the point— this is the app pooks 🤷🏽‍♀️🩷

### 4/5 — Very easy and helpful app!

*2023-08-29, version 1.9.3*

I liked this app so much that one or two days into free trial I purchased the full version. (The trial allows full functionality but the paid version allows unlimited usage- exporting reports and such). After another day or so I even purchased the medication add on.

App is easy to use. I did have a question that took the developer a little bit of time to respond to, but he ultimately did respond with apology for late response. It turned out ok because I ended up figuring out the answer myself in the meantime.

I did have a suggestion for one slight improvement and the developer answered quite quickly. I was told my idea isn’t quite possible yet but others have suggested same thing so my request is being added to the list of people making the request. (Ability to add photo into symptom section).

Looking forward to bringing my print out to the doctor.

### 5/5 — Best food tracking app

*2023-08-27, version 1.9.3*

Paid version is definitely worth the purchase. It took me so long to find a food tracking app that does not include tracking calories/macros or your weight. I recommend this app to anyone who is struggling with any form of disordered eating and needs to log their meals.
The feature to use color coded tags for keeping track of whatever other things, including symptoms, is very helpful too. The ability to export to an excel pdf is a plus.

It’s like to see the option for a designated spot to log location of where your meal was eaten. As well as an option for a designated spot to log an emotion/feeling for before eating, during and, after finishing the meal.

But most of all I wish there was the ability to upload photos to our entries as well.

All in all, great helpful app. Thank you for creating this.

### 4/5 — Love this app! Great for people in ED recovery!

*2023-07-08, version 1.9.3*

Love that this is a calorie free way to track food!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2023-07-05, version 1.9.3*

This app is very well designed and easy to use. In addition to meals, you can enter symptoms or any miscellaneous activities. I love that it can export to a file usable by Excel.

### 5/5 — Not over complicated 😃

*2023-06-19, version 1.9.3*

Simple to log food and symptoms to export when needed. Not over complicated with lots of things to log. Other apps are too fancy. This does the job simply - does the job of an excel spreadsheet, just what I wanted. Paid for full version, definitely worth £4!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t let me purchase the paid version

*2025-01-23, version 1.9.3*

I’ve been faithfully login my food and symptoms here for weeks with the intention to eventually purchase the paid version and export the data but unfortunately when I went to purchase the paid version, I get a bug saying there is some kind of network error and it won’t let me purchase. This was a lot of time and energy wasted for me and there’s no way to even report the bug. I’m so disappointed. ):

### 1/5 — No help support

*2024-07-28, version 1.9.3*

The help link doesn't lead to any option to contact someone. I'm trying to permanently delete a meal but can't.

### 1/5 — Accessibility “features” hijacks your entire iPhone.

*2023-01-30, version 1.9.3*

My recommendation would be not to try to download this app until the developer fixes the problem.

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2020-10-31, version 1.9*

Keeps crashing when trying to add ingredients.

### 1/5 — Cannot view more than 7 days of entries

*2020-02-18, version 1.8*

I was excited for this food app as it had everything I was looking for. I think I have a possible food allergy and wanted to track my food and reactions. Unfortunately this will only show up to 7 days of entries unless you pay for the app. That makes this app useless to me. I will track my food and reactions for free.

### 1/5 — Deleted my diary without warning

*2020-01-16, version 1.8*

I’ve been keeping a symptom/food diary since the 15th December and it was deleted with the most recent update without warning. With a message at the bottom of my diary saying I can only have a weeks worth of diary on the free version. Infuriating! I have to start again. I will be with a new app.

### 1/5 — Pesimo

*2019-08-27*

### 1/5 — Can no longer input anything.

*2016-10-07, version 1.4*

After I updated, I can no longer input meals, symptoms, or miscellaneous things. I hope this is fixed soon.

### 2/5 — Revoked my Pro version?

*2023-11-25, version 1.9.3*

I was really enjoying this app and upgraded to the pro version almost immediately. I like that I am able to track my food intake for my doctor without any reference to calories. However, after weeks of using the pro version, my app is now saying I am using the free version and I need to pay again for the pro features. I thought my one time payment was for lifelong access so I’m frustrated. My doctor’s appointment is coming up in a couple of weeks and the developer hasn’t responded to my email. Is this app still being monitored and maintained?

### 2/5 — So close!

*2021-01-05, version 1.9*

It’s really not functional when it comes to ingredients tracking. I shouldn’t have to stop and input all 12 ingredients from my coffee creamer every single time I log it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Helpful app

*2026-04-10, version 1.9.3*

I found this app very helpful for logging food (no calories) and any symptoms. Helpful filter function too. You can see the previous 7 days on the free version. £5.99 one off payment means you can see all entries from previous. Well worth it.

### 5/5 — Minimalistic tracking app

*2026-01-31, version 1.9.3*

Easy to enter data, and notifies you when it is time to log. Much faster than Chronomoter or myfitnesspal if you are only tracking foods and not macros. The autofill feature also saves a lot of time.

I hope the developer continues to update the app though.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-08-28, version 1.9.3*

I love this app and have been using it since 2019. It is simple as it is a list. In addition I love it as I can also track my medication. My only fault is that you must record brunch as either breakfast or lunch.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-07-13, version 1.9.3*

So easy to use and export data! Perfect for being able to track your symptoms

### 5/5 — Simple but powerful

*2025-03-14, version 1.9.3*

Great UI. Learned how to use real quick. The only negative is lack to attach pics but I can see why. Serves all my needs

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-01-29, version 1.9.3*

It makes it so simple to track anything you want. I like that it doesn’t focus on calories and pulls old meals and recipes easily but also lets you easily add ingredients. This simplifies the whole process

### 5/5 — Faires Angebot und gute App

*2025-01-16*

*2024-12-11*

Me sorprendió, bastante útil !

### 5/5 — Great App! Easy and Tracks Multiple Things

*2024-09-14, version 1.9.3*

The best app for tracking symptoms as well as food. Premium can track more, but for me the free version was enough.
I also appreciate Foody bc I would have never thought to track what I was doing/how I was feeling when l ate but that is a question this app asked and I found out that being rushed/stressed while eating was the contributor to my nausea and reflux more than anything else.

### 5/5 — Excellent food diary app to identify foods that trigger symptoms of Histamine & Mercury Intolerance

*2024-09-05, version 1.9.3*

I eat a very healthy diet so I don’t require pictures of meals or details regarding portions, calories, fibre, carbs, etc. I just need to record meal items and supplements, and then flag items when my intolerance symptoms suddenly appear. For me, excessive Histamine triggers Acne and Mercury triggers Rosacea. Foody is a great tool for the job.
