## What is FootPoint?

FootPoint turns field photos into location-linked records ready to review, share, and submit.

When field photos pile up, it is hard to recall where they were taken, what they show, or their construction stage. FootPoint records location, camera direction, date and time, and an associated point for each photo.

■ Simple Field Workflow
Create a project, add map points, or start taking photos. Set areas, trades, and construction stages, then organize records and export reports.

■ Organize by Project and Point
Keep work photos separate from personal photos. Use quick-entry fields for Location, Area No., Position, Trade, Construction Stage, and Framing to avoid repetitive entry.

■ Location and Camera Direction
Record where each photo was taken and camera direction, with GPS positioning accuracy for reference.

■ Coordinate Systems by Region
WGS84 latitude/longitude work worldwide. Outside the regions below, only WGS84 is available.

• Taiwan: TWD97/TWD67, TM2 zones 121 and 119; outlying islands automatically use zone 119.
• Japan: JGD2011 Plane Rectangular Coordinate Systems I–XIX and JGD2011 latitude/longitude, covering Japan. The app recommends the nearest system by location.
• Australia: GDA2020 / MGA zones 46–59 and GDA2020 latitude/longitude, covering the mainland, Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and the Norfolk Island area.
• New Zealand: NZTM2000, Chatham Islands TM2000, and NZGD2000 latitude/longitude, covering New Zealand and the Chatham Islands.
• Great Britain: British National Grid (OSGB36) using official OSTN15 grid transformations, covering England, Wales, and Scotland—not Northern Ireland.

Each point uses coordinates suited to its location, including in photo watermarks, PDF reports, and exports. The app recommends systems by current country, with manual choice in Settings › Coordinate Format. Conversion accuracy is separate from GPS accuracy.

■ Review on the Map
View points, photos, and shooting directions on the map.

■ Reports and Exports
Create four PDF reports: Complete, Concise, Measurement, and Site Inspection. Select contents and add a company logo or cover photo.

Export CSV, KML, KMZ, GeoJSON, and TXT for CAD/GIS workflows. Photo packages support original photos, a classic date stamp, and Site info watermarks. The Full ZIP Package backs up and restores data.

■ Import Points from CSV
Choose the source coordinate system and column order, including name-first layouts. Preview converted locations and skipped rows before importing.

■ Capture on iPhone, Organize on iPad
Record points and photos on iPhone. Organize records, review photos, and create reports on iPad.

■ Three Languages
Available in Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese. PDF reports use the selected app language.

■ Built for Fieldwork
Easy-to-tap controls designed for one-handed use. Record with limited connectivity, add locations later, and keep photos without coordinates.

■ Your Data, Your Control
No account is required, and FootPoint does not automatically upload data to its own servers. Optional iCloud sync stores data in your iCloud account and syncs it between iPhone and iPad. With sync off, data stays on your device.

Sharing exports or opening an external navigation app may pass location and other information to the destination.

■ 7-Day Free Trial and One-Time Pro Purchase
Try all features free for 7 days. After the trial, you can still view, edit, and export existing records. Pro is required to create new projects, points, or photos.

Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Site info watermarks (concise and detailed) are Pro features; original photos and the classic date stamp can still be exported after the trial.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-21

1.2.1 adds support for the larger inner display of iPhone Duo and makes switching projects more direct.

■ iPhone Duo Inner Display

• The app keeps the same screens when you unfold or fold the device, so entries you've started on the Field page stay in place.
• The Map page uses a compact action group: project, weather, location accuracy, Take Photo, and Record Point in one place, so the map is no longer covered by the bottom card.
• The color of the accuracy outline shows how reliable the camera direction is (green: reliable, yellow: fair, red: poor), separately from location accuracy.
• In landscape, the Field page uses two columns, with quick selections kept on the side away from the camera so your hand doesn't cover the lens.
• The Projects page shows two columns on the large display.

■ Simpler Project Switching

• Tap a project to make it your active project and open it. The active project is shown with the selection color.
• The Active Project editor is simpler: after renaming, tap Done or the keyboard's Done key to save. New Project is now an icon at the top right.

■ Other Improvements

• Clear selected categories on the Field page with the X button. All four selections are now shown in full.
• The Map Style button now uses a layers icon, so it's distinct from the Map tab.
• Fixed an issue in landscape where empty space above and below the side panel blocked taps on map markers and Field page entries.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-17

1.2.0 takes FootPoint beyond Taiwan.

■ Coordinate Systems Beyond Taiwan

Added support for Japan's Plane Rectangular Coordinate System (JGD2011, systems I–XIX), Australia's MGA2020, New Zealand's NZTM2000, and the British National Grid. Each point displays coordinates using the system appropriate for its location. The same coordinate system is also reflected in photo watermarks, PDF reports, and exported files.

■ Location-Based Region Detection

The app identifies your country based on your current location and recommends an appropriate coordinate system. You can still manually select coordinate systems for each country in Settings › Coordinate Format.

■ Import International Coordinates from CSV

Import Points from CSV now lets you select the source coordinate system and column order, including layouts with the name column first. Preview converted locations and rows that will be skipped before importing.

■ Japanese Language Support

The interface is now available in Japanese. The app's display name is now FootPoint in both English and Japanese.

■ Other Improvements

• Tapping Update Location now moves the map to your current location first.
• On iPad, the map moves to the imported points after a CSV import.
• On iPad, coordinate labels no longer wrap onto two lines.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-10-13

1.1.3 makes your site photos easier to hand over.

■ Site info watermarks
When exporting photos, stamp them with the capture time, project, coordinates, construction stage, notes and more — in a concise or detailed style. You can also export the original photo or a classic date stamp.

■ Share a single photo
Share the photo you're viewing in full screen. Pick a style and send it with AirDrop, Messages, or Save to Files.

■ Export several photos at once
Tap Select in Project Photos on iPhone or in Records on iPad, check the photos you want, and export them together.

■ Quick photo package export
Export a whole project's Photo Package right from the project list.

■ Other improvements
• More consistent automatic names for points and photos.
• Improved iCloud Sync.
• Layout and interaction fixes on iPhone and iPad.

Site info watermarks (concise and detailed) require Pro. Original photos and the classic date stamp can be exported on the free version too.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-10-10

1.1.2 adds Dark Mode and Dynamic Type support, and redesigns the welcome page and tutorial.

■ Dark Mode
The whole app is clear and easy to read in Dark Mode, including with Increase Contrast.

■ Dynamic Type
Text follows your system text size. At the largest sizes, the map panel, Field page, point details, and more stack vertically so numbers aren't cut off.

■ Welcome page and tutorial
A single welcome page explains what Tadian does.
The first time you open Map, Field, and Projects, tips point right at the controls you can't see at a glance: swiping the panel, long-pressing quick picks, swiping to export or delete, and more. On iPad, the project sidebar, map, and records each have their own tips.
To see them again, go to Settings → Tutorial & Sample → Show Tutorial Again.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-07

1.1.1 tidies up the layout so common tasks take fewer taps.

- Points and photos (iPhone)
Point details have a new layout: coordinates and times come first, and you can swipe between photos — the mini map and field notes follow the photo you're viewing.
Project details now list points and photos directly. Pull down to search the project; while searching, only results are shown.
The point description is back in Edit.

- Weather
Weather quick picks are now icons.
Weather and temperature now come only from each photo: points no longer show them, empty fields stay hidden, and reports no longer fill in a photo's weather from its point.

- Easier editing
Tap a point name or photo file name to rename it.
Deleting a point or photo now always asks first, with the confirmation shown next to the Delete button.
Swiping right to copy coordinates now shows a confirmation.

- iPad
Pull down in Records to search just this project. Selecting a sidebar search result scrolls Records to that item.
Details: point categories are now quick picks, single photos can be deleted directly, and field names are consistent.
You can now set field weather on the Map as well.

- Export and restore
Export is now in the project's "..." menu and exports just that project.
Restore from Full ZIP Package is now in the "+" menu of the project list.
Load Sample Project and are now in Settings > Tutorial & Sample.
