## What is Forced Family Fun?

Ditch the pen, paper, and arguments over who's keeping score. FFF: Scorer is a beautifully designed companion app that handles the math for your favorite card and board games — so you can stay in the moment and enjoy game night.

Whether you're battling through a tense round of Skull King, racing to complete your phases in Phase 10, or trying to avoid the Queen of Spades in Hearts, this app tracks every point, bid, trick, and bonus with rules-accurate precision.

SUPPORTED GAMES

* Five Crowns — Includes round tracking and a calculator based upon card type, including manual & dynamically calculated scores.

FEATURES YOU'LL LOVE
* Two scoring modes: enter totals directly in Simple mode, or break down every card and bonus in Calculator mode — your choice, every round.
* Smart rules engine: the app knows each game's official scoring rules. It calculates round totals, tracks running scores, and detects when someone hits the win condition.
* Player management: add your family and friends once, then select them for any game. Win/loss records are tracked across every session.
* Scoreboard and leaderboard: see who dominates game night with an all-time podium, filterable by game. Bragging rights included.
* Celebration screen: when someone wins, the app marks the occasion with a podium and confetti — because victories deserve to be celebrated.
* Per-game settings: customize point values, win thresholds, variant rules, and partnership configurations. Set global defaults or tweak settings mid-game without affecting future sessions.
* Game history: every completed session is saved with full round-by-round detail, so you can revisit that legendary comeback.
* Designed for families: clean, intuitive interface that anyone at the table can use — from kids to grandparents.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-08-03

This version is a few bug fixes and a small number of feature improvements.

* Track Rounds — new game type for tallying round wins in unscored games. There are now two options in the app. One for tracking rounds (whoever wins the most rounds gets credit for one win in the scoreboard) and one for Tracking Wins (the original design which is each win counts towards the scoreboard)
* Skull King Kraken — I fixed a bug where if a kraken was played, the user couldn't save the round. Oops and sorry!
* Two-set play — combine two copies of Phase 10 / Skip Bo / SkyJo / Five Crowns for larger groups is now supported.
* Spades scoring refactor — greatly improved spades scoring. It is now much easier to enter bids, track nil/blind nils etc.
* Other Score view — I fixed a bug where the +/− button would show even when "Allow negative scores" was turned on.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-06-10

This version includes four bug fixes and one experience enhancement.

ENHANCEMENT TO PHASE 10 SCORING
If a player's score is less than 50, the app now automatically credits them with completing the phase. Additionally, any player with a score of 0 — after all other scores have been entered — is automatically credited as well, since going out with a zero means they finished first.

FOUR BUG FIXES

ICLOUD DATA SYNC
Resolved an issue where data created within the last ~30 days would not sync between devices.

SKYJO TIE-SCORE DOUBLING
Fixed two related scoring errors in SkyJo. First, when a player went out and was tied for the lowest score, the tie was not triggering the score-doubling penalty as required by the rules. Second, when the player who went out had a score of zero or less and was not the lowest score overall, their score was incorrectly being doubled. Both are now corrected.

WIN TRACKING
Corrected an issue with the Track Wins feature. Previously, playing four games and tracking each one would only add a single win to a player's total, rather than one win per game. Each game win is now counted individually and tracked correctly across all players.

SHARED SCORING VIEW
Aligned the shared scoring experience so that guests now see the same scoring view as the host, giving everyone the benefit of all host-side scoring improvements made since launch.

Thank you, as always, for your support — and may your game nights be absolutely fantastic!

### 1.2 — 2026-05-29

Happy to report a series of meaningful quality of life improvements in this version. This one started out as a bug fix version and with enough changes I felt like it should be more for a 1.2 update … so here we go.

In this version we have:
- An improved Canasta score entry (top score, count) rather than one box for total points
- Moved the shared scoring to a Beta, with dedicated settings and much improved flow (lots of pop ups to explain how it works). These pop ups are unfortunately necessary because I’m doing everything locally, 100% on device (what is yours, stays yours)
- Made it possible to always show “Went Out” and “Score Doubled” for SkyJo (improves scoring experience)
- Improved scoring of Five Crowns to allow users to enter the count of each card type rather than having to do math. (nice!)
- Added the ability to set color and symbol for your “who’s next” groups (yay!)
- Fixed an issue with live activities not ending when a game was finished (if the app had crashed with a live activity running, that live activity would never end)

Hope you enjoy this release!

### 1.1.1 — 2026-05-01

This is a quick bug fix version. In this version I address an issue with the Skull King scoring layout and also makes it easier to identify which card is wild rather than displaying the round number.

### 1.1 — 2026-04-29

This version of the app introduces two new features. First up, a new game … Five Crowns!

Next, I’ve done my best to support several Accessibility features including support for VoiceOver, Dark Interface, Sufficient Contrast and Reduced Motion. I’ve tested these quite a bit but if I missed something or it isn’t working right, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Hope you enjoy this release!
