### 4/5 — Effective, but time to improve

*2023-07-24*

This app is very helpful to passengers, however it hasn’t really gotten much attention since its release. It would be helpful if features such as radar overlays and additional landmark spotting features were added. Additionally the time remaining could be tweaked during the climb and descent to show accurate estimates during different phases of flight where not at typical cruising speed.

### 3/5 — Good, not great

*2023-05-27*

The base functionality works fine but adding more detail to the map itself would be great even if the app storage size was a bit larger and adding the ability to pass through layers like weather or traffic from adsb woukd be amazing too. A more detailed map is the largesr improvement that could be made in my opinion though, it’s just too high scale to be useful for short GA flights.

### 3/5 — Need to support older iPads

*2022-10-25, version 1.2.1*

On my plane anyways the older iPad gets used as the “air show” iPad but it’s being left in the dust with the updates and is no longer compatible with the latest version of foreflight. This is a gross oversight. Please update for OS 12 iPads so we can use it again. Passengers love it but now a paperweight.

### 4/5 — Good, Can easily be great

*2021-10-06, version 1.7*

We are running this in a PC-12 for passengers to track the flight. Being in a turbo prop, we often deviate for weather. The Ipads we provide pull GPS from an ADSB Receiver in the front. It would be incredibly helpful for passengers to also be able to toggle composite radar and estimate when we will be back on course when connected to such a device. Right now they are wondering why we have such a hard time flying in a straight line.

### 4/5 — Great but adding more features can make it even better

*2020-06-22*

Like using the passenger app for my passengers in the plane. So they have updated info and can be well aware of where we are without having to teach them to use foreflight.

But it would be nice to have an option to show traffic coming from the ADSB. So that they can assist in looking for traffic.
I think that would be such a great feature addition

### 3/5 — Surface features needed

*2020-06-06, version 1.5*

Great app and my wife who flies with me uses it all the time to see when we expect to arrive and relatively where we are. However the more conf map needs more surface features to have the passenger look and locate them making it more entertaining

### 4/5 — Needs more map data

*2020-03-31*

I end up typically just running ForeFlight itself on my cell phone for passengers to look at because the passenger app needs more granular maps (more towns perhaps some additional road data) and also the ability to show airports on the map. My passengers like doing some pilotage and enjoy seeing landmarks shown on their view like airports.

### 3/5 — Remaining time tweak needed

*2019-04-29*

Really like the ForeFlight Passenger app. Came in handy when our aircraft’s Airshow System broke. Glad that one can airplay it from an iPhone to an Apple TV, but would like to see Passenger app available on the Apple TV too in the future.

Minor complaint - the Remaining time and ETA are not accurate during initial climb out, when re-routed nor on radar vectors to final. On climbout it initially indicated 11+ hours remaining time shortly after takeoff (for our 5 hour flight). Once at cruising altitude/speed, the remaining time and ETA got more accurate (within 15 minutes of our aircraft FMS remaining time). During re-route, Remaining time grew to an hour off before I thought about using the Direct To feature on ForeFlight then re-pushing the data from ForeFlight to Passenger app manually. During approach phase, the Remaining time indicated 8 minutes remaining abeam the airport, but the time grew higher as we were vectored to the other side of the airport to intercept a 10 mile final. Even though we eventually flew the final approach track loaded in ForeFlight, the Remaining time kept increasing (to 31 minutes remaining on a 5 mile final to land) before I turned the app off.

Passengers commented they could see E-mail pop-ups on the Passenger app screen.

### 3/5 — More detail

*2019-04-15, version 1.0*

It works quite well to show where you are but there’s no detail on the map. It would be nice if it would show a satellite view like google maps or even better if it could sync whatever chart the pilot was using. Passengers would probably enjoy it more with some detail.

### 3/5 — Needs weather

*2019-04-10*

It is a great app but, it needs weather on it. Also maybe different maps.

### 3/5 — A good idea but...

*2019-04-06, version 1.0*

A good idea but map is not useful to passengers. My passengers tell me they want to see street maps.

### 4/5 — Missing something

*2019-03-30*

Dear ForeFlight ,
Your apps are great, when I opened ForeFlight this morning I was so happy and excited about the passages app.I thought finely something reliable for my wife and love ones to track me while I am in flight so they don’t worry and can plan their day.i don’t know how many , but I suspect their are a lot of people like me who fly single pilot over long legs .please make this improvement ,to me that would make this a true 5 star app

### 4/5 — A Great First Version Guys

*2019-03-30*

My spouse has been bugging for years for an app like this! We just tried it for the first time yesterday with mixed results. Didn’t realize that I had to have the app loaded on BOTH my iPad and wife’s iPad for it to become operational. Logical - but was not intuitive for me while in-flight.

Also it needs to absolutely include street map graphics so non- aviation pax are able to determine geographic location while in the air. 5 star upgrade when this happens.

### 4/5 — Great app! Could really use one more feature!

*2019-03-30*

Love this app and the potential it brings. Would REALLY like to add ability to transmit my location to my spouse who frequently picks me up from the airport or monitors my trip to check that all is well.

### 4/5 — Good first release, but lacking some basics

*2019-03-29*

Setup was a breeze, gives basic information about the flight, but would be nice to have a few more options such as additional maps, automatic scaling, and maybe traffic views (can never have too many eyes). Can’t wait to see what this app brings in the coming releases!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Map could be ALOT better

*2021-09-23, version 1.7*

It’s not all that useful

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2021-04-28, version 1.7*

Incredibly lame. The simulates the sort of thing you see in an airliner but with almost no map detail. I expected some additional data from the pilots ForeFlight, such as weather, airspace or traffic, but there is nothing but route, speed, and ETA. Most passengers will be better informed using another map application with GPS location.

### 1/5 — Good idea, but terrible maps

*2020-12-24*

This is a great idea, but the map quality is terrible...passengers expect something along the lines of Apple Maps, showing streets, etc., not some low-res thing that looks like it was drawn with a crayon! Since the flight plan is known ahead of time, the app should cache all the tiles it is going to need to show a reasonable quality map throughout the flight.

Update: A year later and still the same crappy maps. Pathetic development team on this thing.

### 2/5 — Map is awful

*2023-05-18*

A mostly blank map with no information other than a few flight details? Why can’t you just download the street map already present on ForeFlight and use that as the Passenger map? I’d like to hand this to my passengers as a fun companion to their flight and a way to answer questions about what mountain peak they’re flying past, what road is that down below, etc. Instead the map is mostly blank and pretty useless.

### 2/5 — Trip Sheet Feature

*2023-03-13, version 1.7*

Please build a trip sheet feature that allows pilots to plan and push trip information from pilot app to pax.

### 2/5 — Good Start

*2022-10-05, version 1.7*

This app is great at what it does, I just wish it did a bit more. Base functionality to add would just be one more layer on the zoom in. I do a lot of local GA flights and my passengers can't see much other than freeways and major cities so adding one more layer deep in the zoom would be much better. Adding other layers like weather and traffic would be good too but bring able to zoom in just a bit more to see large roads, towns, and water would be great, it just has very limited functionality for my passengers right now.

### 2/5 — Need more detailed maps

*2021-11-09, version 1.7*

Last update really improved the map a lot. I went from "absolutely useless" to "Oh now I could tell my passengers to download it". Big problem is that it's only worth one more star because the map is still very empty. Please add an option to add Street Map or Aerial Map. When I give my iPad to my passenger, it's always one of the 2 that I activate and my passengers love it. They can track the roads to their places, can see all the small mountains and their names, and can see every little details on the map, to associate them with what they see outside.

Add Aerial and Street Maps! Please

### 2/5 — Not showing in store for iPad

*2021-02-11, version 1.6*

Can’t seem to find it foe the iPad only the phone

### 2/5 — Graphics

*2020-06-07*

Are you serious ? Is this the best a Boeing Company can do? Where are the great visual graphics? You truly missed the chance to show passengers your stuff. I don’t care how easy it is to install it boring boring and still boring I keep looking for the color enhance button. 2 stars / One for free and One the thought. Wow let’s try and raise the bar just a little on the next effort.

### 3/5 — No Updates

*2024-09-22, version 1.7*

I love the app - but it hasn’t been updated in three years. Please update and improve it, ForeFlight.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — No Updates

*2025-04-24*

I love the app - but it hasn’t been updated in four years. Please update it, ForeFlight.

### 5/5 — Great product

*2024-07-08, version 1.7*

Well done. Works well offline

### 5/5 — Really cool experience for passengers

*2019-05-24*

This app rocks but I think something that would be cool is a way to On the main foreflight app be able to send notifications to the passengers. Such as sometimes I’m isolated do to a lot of distractions in the cockpit but if we can control messages to the passenger app that would be amazing. Also a way to have a seatbelt sign would be really cool that we can control on the main foreflight app.

### 5/5 — Simulated Flight

*2019-04-19*

It’s a cool app, and well done, just like all ForeFlight products. But, it doesn’t work for my home simulator. My simulated passengers (my kids) would like to follow our flight, but it uses the device’s location to track the route. So, the app doesn’t know the simulated airplane is flying. Oh well! 5-stars because it wasn’t designed to do that.

### 5/5 — Nice addition

*2019-04-03*

Innovative lunch and application that meets a specific need. Giving it five stars for the idea. Love the simplicity and how you kept the layout clean from clutter. There are a couple of improvements that you might consider for the next update. My wife is constantly asking me what’s that road, what’s that town, what’s that mountain, or what’s that lake. It be nice for her to have layers on the map that she could look up that information first hand. Also, It would be nice to be able to send an invite within the app for people to download Passenger directly without having to search for it.

### 5/5 — Briefing please!

*2019-03-27, version 1.0*

Great App. Please add passenger briefing feature! Pilot could set up any type of briefing in ForeFlight App and deliver to the Passenger end.

### 5/5 — Seems great! The picture though...

*2019-03-26*

The app seems to work great! Going to keep exploring with it, but for the image shown, isn’t that busting the 250kts below 10k reg?

### 5/5 — Awesome long awaited

*2019-03-26*

Well done ForeFlight! Simple to use, all our passengers need! Well done. Improvement: allow for a custom welcome message

### 5/5 — Great idea!

*2019-03-26*

Looking much forward to having my passengers try this out. Looks similar to what the airlines give their passengers, but with added value - not only will my passengers know where we are and have been so far, but also what the planned route ahead is. Very cool!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2019-03-25, version 1.0*

What a great addition to the ForeFlight product suite!
