I would like to have a specific case that would provide a detailed look at a product like steel. I find it’s far behind competitors like the Economist or the Atlantic (which is strange because FA’s mobile website is nice). Some key app features I’d like to see: - better UX on homepage that reflects magazine aesthetics, like the mobile FA website. The publication is balanced and provides available commentary that allows readers to piece together questions and answers to complications of the world we all share. There is a very good mix of views and opinions. Given the fact that most news platforms are using the color gray in their fonts, please note that the color gray is one of the most blind colors of the human eye. I suggest to make it black for easier reading for everyone. Fully paid for one year. Cannot log in and read on line. Called and changed password more than ten times. Wrote and received no response. Changed password another 4-5 times, did not work. Do no know what to do. Weird. ### 1/5 — If I can’t immediately intuit how to change the audio playback speed, you screwed up *2025-07-17, version 4.6* I’ve tried asking AI; I’ve tried searching. I absolutely cannot find the ability to make the painfully slow AI narrator hurry it the heck up. This is a solved problem. Every other audio interface in the modern era makes this easy. I should be able to easily intuit how to do it. That I STILL can’t find this setting AFTER searching and asking AI means you’ve colossally screwed up. How is it that an app that constantly writes about and critiques governments for their national security and diplomacy practices can’t even iron out a simple computerized login process? The app has forgotten my password, and won’t accept my reset password from the website. I’ve also stopped receiving the magazine. I pay too much for this service to forget I exist. Tired of FA appearing in the reviews acting like everything is fine with an “Email me! We’ll take care of it!” How about you fix your app… it’s been behind the Guardian, the Atlantic, and the New Yorker for years. Based on the resources you have at your disposal, the content you focus on, and the prices you charge, your app’s performance and interface should be much better than this. **Developer response:** Please accept our apologies for the trouble. The pop-ups I’m referring to are these inane, incessant pop-ups asking if we like the app. This app and so many others. One has to stop what he’s doing, or thinking, and respond. This time it said “you have an active subscription”…but didn’t let me behind the paywall. The 101st and others are mobilizing. Seems like a big deal but nothing here to read about it. DOGE uncovers a ridiculous amount of abuse and waste at A.I.D., again crickets….. The United States has to quickly make some big adjustments as we spiral towards Bankruptcy with a Fed that can’t get anything right? And all we read here are lame arguments to protect the existing order which no longer is working. ### 1/5 — Login not working *2025-02-08* I am not grading the content. I am frustrated by the app and the so called security features. Well these keep me from using the App as it refuses the login. The browser login works. The App login does not. Safari and DuckDuck both work. Safari uses the same PW key chain, as the app does. Even though the help pages refer to the app in case of problems with the login. When resetting the password you have to prove you are human over and over again. And the whole process is amazingly slow. Run, Run Away Fast! *2024-12-16* The customer service is awful. They do not respond to emails, you can only call. When you call its angry operators who try to get you off the phone fastest. I am currently paying for a subscription that I cannot get out of but cannot use, and am given no answers even though I have made multiple inquiries. Go Anywhere Else!
